I have heard that they are quite good gloves and I am looking for a pair of easton with wrist guards. does any body use them or maybe should I wait for the synergy gloves.

Thanks Sid

The Synergy glove may be considered a "step up" from the Z-Air but I'd say 9 out of 10 people who've used both would take the Z-Airs over the Synergy. The Synergy seemed to run smaller (I wore a size 14 and had to go with a 15 for the Synergy) and had a longer break-in time than the Z-Air. However I did not use the most recent versions of the Z-Air with the wristwrap. I believe that I used the '99 though '01 models.

Not sure how the 05' Synergys run though. With luck, you may be able to find some Z-Air closeouts.

Hell, just ask the resident MSH Glove Guru: Geki.... :P

;)

yeah, 2003 was the year they put the wristwrap on the z-airs, 2004 it was removed and called the synergy.

I love the z-air gloves. Some of my all time favorites. Just about any of them from 1999 to 2002 were great. I didn't care for the wrist wrap on the '04s. I actually took them to a leathersmith and had them removed from the glove.

The synergy to me was a disaster in the z-air line. I mean the wrist wrap the year before was bad, but the synergys just didn't work for me at all. I thought they were just going to remove the wrist guard and call them something different, but the fit of the glove seemed to change quite a bit, especially in the fingers, mainly the index and thumb. They seemed to bind over each other when you closed your hand and I didn't care for the palms on the '03 z-air and synergys... That black leather they used felt really cheap to me. Old z-airs were a lot more ergonomic and let you close your hand very naturally.

Everyone that's tried the new '05 synergy (the 1300) says that the wrist guard is very good but I'm not very optimistic about it. I guess I'll have to try it, but I'm not holding my breath. If I want wrist guards, guess what? I'll spend the $7 and get some. I'm a little more than particular about my gloves though :P

I got a chance to try on the 1100 and 1300 today, and despite what I believed would come out of my efforts, the 1100 were 10x more comfy, IMO. I tried them on and the palms were just like, oh, when I tried on my XXX's I thought no glove would even come close but these are not far off, and the price on them is way better. I wouldn't want these with a grip stick but that is a good thing, shows how the palms are solid. I don't normally like Easton retail gloves, like at all..but these really impressed me.

IMO, the 1100 look way better than the 1300s as well.

So I guess it wasn't just me using colored tape and all?

They are some of the best gloves I've used, but as you my palms got trashed out real quick. I chalked it up to colored tape, but even that takes time. Hey, I still have the right hand glove (bottom hand), GREAT condition!
