twistoffate19 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2005 I know what people are gonna say right off the bat, and to stop that, I did research it in the reviews and stuff, but I would just like to get an updated opinion. How are the True-1's holding up (hows their durability been)? I'm thinking of buying one of those instead of a Vapor XX (since the didnt have the P91 curve, but have a Kovalev).
nyhockey6 1 Report post Posted April 8, 2005 I bought one for my cousin last June and it finally broke about a month or so ago, so it lasted him a good 7-8 months of playing on 3 teams. My cousin is big kid and takes alot of slapper and the stick held up very well.
hip check 0 Report post Posted April 8, 2005 I folded the blade in half on a face-off. The shaft felt good, as did the blade before that night when it met its' demise. Maybe the blade weave has something to do with the problem I had. I had it about 4-5 months, playing 3-4 times a week. I don't take a ton of slapshots, so it may have led an easier life than others would experience.
echi24 1 Report post Posted April 10, 2005 It was a good stick for me, but it was too bad that when i finally liked the curve the blade cracked and split in the middle. I think the blade is not as durable as the regular Inno graphite blades
wickedwrister 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2005 Mine was great!!! All 45 days or so it lasted
asdfa 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2005 it seems to be the weave, which is probably "softer" or looser than other weaves, to give it better feel.Price is the only thing stopping me from getting one, because my parents don't like the internet thing, where you can find them for $100 USD. the regular true-1s and all black grip true-1s are going for 300 and 320 CAN at my lhs :(
hockechamp14 0 Report post Posted April 10, 2005 If you want something similar to an XX, get a 1100, or a Novius. I don't believe that the true one's are all that great. Good idea, but I don't see how much better than they other sticks it could be, especially since all the inno products are so good.
flaming_june 2 Report post Posted April 10, 2005 great sticks and feel, but the blade split after a game or two. maybe mine was defective... but i did buy it off ebay.. so i duno..well, i made it into a shaft, and its holding off great. i will see how it holds up
flashgordon 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 great sticks and feel, but the blade split after a game or two. maybe mine was defective... but i did buy it off ebay.. so i duno..well, i made it into a shaft, and its holding off great. i will see how it holds up Didn't want to start a new thread for this, but as I've mentioned before my 2 True1's both split along the top of the blade, starting maybe 2 inches from the toe and now about 2-4 inches in length (and growing). The sticks are still quite usable, but not surprisingly, the stiffness of the blade has been significantly compromised (I can bend the blade quite easily with my hand in the area of the crack). Any suggestions as to how I might repair the blades - I love the balance and weight of these sticks? I tried putting Crazy Glue in the crack and pressing the blade together, but it doesn't seem to work well. Any other bonding material that you can think of to improve the result???Thx for any thoughts.

flashgordon 0 Report post Posted April 22, 2005 Epoxy works much better than glue. Will try that - as you can tell, I'm not much of a handy man. Last think I built / fixed around the house was...ummm....changed a light bulb.

Fedorov91 0 Report post Posted April 23, 2005 Last time I went to my pro shop I saw that they had some 1100's in some new patterns. I'm interested in the Draper (Sakic clone) does anyone know if they have the newer patterns for the True 1 too?

iceholes 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 my vapor xxx has been put through the ringer and no signs of letting up... 3-4 months now at 3+ x's a week...technically not the true one, but its the true
hockechamp14 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 For anyone that's used a 1100 and an XXX, where do you feel the difference, and do you think that one is better? The main reason I got the 1100 was because it was cheaper than the XXX, and I really like the 1100. Since inno made the XXX, it has to be good though. So how do they match up?
stix04 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 Inno didnt make the XXX, the XXX has the same technology as the Inno True1, but its still made by Bauer.
hockechamp14 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 Inno didnt make the XXX, the XXX has the same technology as the Inno True1, but its still made by Bauer. Doesn't inno make all the bauer sticks?
stix04 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 Hmmm that could be? Not sure tho.
PBRyan 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 my understanding is that hey are "made by Inno up to Bauers standards" ...so yes inno makes bauer sticks. Kinda vague though.
hockechamp14 0 Report post Posted April 24, 2005 Hmmm that could be? Not sure tho. Well after bauer screwed up on the tri-flex series and no one wanted to buy them, I think they realized they needed help, so they got inno to make thier sticks.
