white tape v.s. black tape

Recommended Posts

black tape hides the puck better obviously, white allows you too see where the puck on the blade better ( but it also blends in your blade with the ice..) , not too many goalies or players will agree that using black or white tape gives you any kind of advantage. Its all personal preference

i know i'm weird...but when i use any other color than black...it seem like the puck is heavier!!!!! lol i know i'm weird lol! no need to say!

oh well...2-3 week ago i play with my L-2 and put red tape...and it wasn't that bad...but still had a little impression that the puck was heavier!

That's the problem, everyone rips on your posts because some/many are stupid.

If you know you are going to get your "head bitten off" why do you continue to make useless posts? You know that you put up useless posts yet you continue to post them. Doesn't make sense to me.

I usually use white tape, then I run a puck over it....gives it a little grip.

Why do you run a puck over it exactly? i've seen other people mention it in their posts. And how would you do it?

you run the puck to make sure the tape is sticking to the stick.

I switch back and forth, only notice a difference if I'm using friction tape or not. I like to run the puck on my blade, then use candle wax on the whole thing to reduce the water absorbtion and protect the tape job more.

black tape is also supposed to hide the puck more from the goalie....my coach told me to put black on my stick because yellow shows the puck too much. does it make a difference from a goalies standpoint, does the tape hide the puck?

I usually just buy whatever is in bulk for cheap. I don't think that the color of your tape is going to result in more goals.

I remember awhile back they had some Bauer tape at HockeyGiant. I got like 15 rolls for $10 and it looked cool because you had a "Bauer" pattern all over your blade lol. It was also pretty durable, didn't fray or wear down really fast or anything. I hate when I get some crappy tape that wears down or comes off easily.
