Both chassis's will be damaged if they take a direct hit with a hard shot. We have several pairs of both the R1 and O1. Marsblade has fantastic customer service. We had a cracked lower on a pair of O1s and a cracked upper and lower on the R1s (all different skates at different times). Marsblade sent us replacement parts with expedited shipping to keep us skating. We have had the R1s since they first came out and have seen significantly more action in competition and the O1s since 2017 or 2018

If you need more protection for your knees try Smith's knee gaskets the ones skateboarders use , they are a compression fit with padding.

YES!!! Got the stick last week and I am very happy with it overall. The stick is supposed to be a P46 clone but the rocker is a but different. Nothing terrible though and I pretty comfortable. It has pretty good pop. Not really best in class but it's sold. Blade feel is really good. No complaints there. You can certainly see the fuse point but the quality is good. Overall it's a great choice and a really solid value if you can be patient. Especially since my curve isn't available anymore.

Inventory costs money. If they could figure out a model where all the regular curves were physically in stock but you could still get non-mainstream curves without custom prices, that would be a solution.

That is absolutely not the experience of what I saw in stores I've worked in or through talking to people playing hockey. It hasn't become a popular thing with skates until stores realized they could add it as an extra charge of pure margin to a skate that they started pushing people into lower end skates and making up the difference in price with insoles and profiles. I can say out of all of my adult teams, probably 5 out of 50 players know what a profile is and have had one done.
