  1. Those are THE nicest CCM gloves I have ever seen.
  2. Was in need of new elbow pads. My last pair were the Bauer pros and I feel these are a bit of an upgrade so far. Also new gloves for my travel team. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  3. I'm pretty sure I've mentioned how much I love TSR before. Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
  4. Product: Reebok11k pants, Senior small, black Previous pants: Bauer One75: Use: Six weeks of camp with 3 days on ice a week, weekly pickup and clinics, one full midget 16u aa travel season, one full varsity highschool season. Fit (10/10):These pants are like a mix between a girdle and traditional pants. The upper half fit like pants but the thighs, while larger than the thighs on a standard girdle, give you the option to adjust how they fit. I really like the idea of this feature it allows you to try several different fits without chaning your pants. They fit me fine in a small, at the time I got them I was around 5 foot 10 inches now im closer to six feet which has allowed me to utilize another one of the features on these pants. Below the belt on these pants is a zipper that when opened adds on an inche to the length of pants. Again this makes these much more versatile, where normally plus 1 pants aren't all that easy to find so you can try it withouth having to order it or get it custom. Protection (7/10): The protection on these pants is a bit of mix. The thighs are absolute tanks. I play wing and love to kill penalties so I tend to block alot of shots. These pants have allowed me to block shots laying down with more confidence because any time I"ve taken a shot to the thigh in these pants it was barley felt. The hips on the other hand leave a little bit to be desired. They feature Reebok's JDP technology so I thought they would be very sturdy. Maybe they don't fit perfectly on my hips but the one time I've fallen on my hip it hurt. I ended up with a huge bruise on my side, so just something to consider. There isn't a raised spine guard like there was on my previous pants (Bauer One75) but the spine guard does feature a hard plastic JDP plastic cap on it. It felt solid and anytime I was cross checked there it hurt a little but the pants defiantly helped out. I did end up removing the plastic piece though after trying on my friend's who had done the same, I decided I like how it felt. Weight/Mobility (5/10): These pants are pretty heavy, but at the same time they are top of the line pants so it is to be expected. My main gripe with the mobility though is how thick the thigh guards are. While I do enjoy they're protection they are very thick and its something to adjust to. They are much thicker than the TotalOne pants which I recently had the opportunity to try on. Also, this comes down to preference but it seemed no matter how loose i went on the velcro straps I never got it as loose feeling as traditional pants which is what I would of prefered. I feel this might be attributed to the thickness of the thgh guards. Just something to keep in mind if coming from pants as opposed to a girdle. Durability (4/10): While I haven't had any sort of catastrophic failure with these pants I have had some concerns with these pants. The velcro straps on both legs completely ripped. I have no idea why and I put on my pants before skates so it couldn't of been that. For me though, this wasn't really that bad as I liked them looser but I'd imagine these things should stay on better. In addition the velcro pieces on the waster ripped too. Overall that didn't impacts the fit since the waist belt is what really tightens the pants, but yet again when I pay for top end pants I think its fair of me to expect better. Conclusion: With everything considered these aren't awful pants. But for the money, I'd go in a different direction. They were pretty hot and mobility wasn't as good as I thought it would be. For top of the line pants I feel there are better options out there. (6.5/10)
  5. I thought it was the other way around?
  6. Made the team I wanted, I'm now playing 16u AAA national. This will be a great weekend.
  7. Made the first cut for my travel team without playing all that well, time to step up I really think I can do this!
  8. From what I can tell it seems as if the carbon is closer to a grey, or is that just lighting?
  9. I was wondering if anyone has pictures of the silver classic and the silver carbon, and if so could you post pictures? Also this is a long shot it would be great if it were next to red carbon
  10. Went to a pre tryout brushup skate today. The coach spoke to me and my dad and told us he loves the way I play and my attitude. He pretty much said I've made it, to just show up for the tryout. I only started travel two years ago. I've worked my ass off and will now be going from Bantam A two years ago, last year playing Midget AA, and next year Midget AAA. It feels great to see hard work pay off.
  11. It looks like the older franchise cuff with that part removed.
  12. Been getting sick alot this year and missing way too much school. Went to the doctor and got told it's from stress and anxiety.
  13. Skate:Bauer Vapor APX 8.5D Foot: guess my foot is pretty average. In vapors I feet very comftorably width wise and volume wise Height and Weight: 5'11 160lbs Level of Play: Varsity and 16u aa Previous Pair of Skates:Vapor X60 Fit: Fit is something thats very hard to review since it will vary from person to person as no two feet are the same. So I do advise you try these on as with any skate. I fit very well in the X60 the only spot I didn't really fit perfectly was the volume I just barley failed the pencil test in those but I didn't experience any sort of pain as a result. Instead in the APX I pass the pencil test, not really something signifigant for me seeing as I had no substantail problem but perhaps something to consider for those coming from previous Vapor skates. Overall the skates fit me very well and are extremely comfortable, If you fit well in previous vapors I'd imagine these are very likely to fit you. (9.5/10 Holder/Runner: I'm very used to the Lightspeed 2 holder so I enjoyed it as many people do and didn't adjust the pitch at all. One of the big selling points on this skate though are the lightspeed fusion runners. At first I thought I'd notice a difference, but once I actually skated in them I was blown away. It seems like a negligible amount of weight reduction but what many will fail to realize is that the farther away from the core, the more the difference is noticed. Seeing as these are at the bottom of your feet the difference is outstanding. Coming from my X60's I loved the weight reduction, I noticed that I seemed to feel a little less fatigued at the end of a shift. From a sharpening aspect is seems to hold an edge just the same as ls2 did so pretty good I get around 2 weeks inbetween sharpenings which for the amount of time I play, I feel it's pretty impressive. (10/10) Boot: The boot features Bauer's Curv composite which is a change from the Vapor line's traditional construction. This is a change that I love. The skates are stiff while, but not too stiff. I'm able to get a nice amount of forward flex while still getting great lateral support. As a result of the Curv composite these boots are very light which as with the steel is very nice. (10/10 Liner: The liner is still composed of two different materials. On the top is a clarino material that is meant to be durable. What I like about this choice over what was used in the x60's is that while it durable, It is still comfortable. The top of the X60's liner was rougher and would occasionaly rub against my ankle. This is something I don't notice in the APX. The bottom part of the liner is a hydrophobic material which is much softer and very comfortable. I hang my skates upside down and the Liner dries very quickly so no complaints in that regard. (9.5) Footbed: Normally I probably wouldn't talk about the footbed but because it has a new feature to it I thought I'd address it. At the end of the toe there are wings that fold up and hug the toebox. While this is something extremely simple it is incredible and I'm astounded no other company has thought to incorporate this in their skates. Normally the transition from the Liner of the skate to the plastic of the toebox can be a little bit uncomfortable but with this new feature it is a seamless and very comortable transition. (10/10) Weight: As I've said due to the Fusion runners and the Curv boot the skate is very light and it is without a doubt the lightest skate I've ever worn. I'm very impressed with the weight of these. (10/10) Toungue: I like what Bauer did with the toungue on the APX. It features an external lace bite bar so as to prevent the laces from digging into it, which in past skates could cause breakdown and possibly lead to lace bite. The toungue has showed no sign of breaking down. (10/10) Durability/Protection: I've skated in these skates alot. sometimes 10 times a week. Aside from some stiching coming undone around the tendon guard and cosmetic wear the skates have held up pretty well. Protection is nice as well, I've blocked some pretty hard shots only felt a slight sting. (9/10) Conclusion: The Bauer APX is a nice but expensive skate. If you play at a highlevel and/or have the money I definantly recommend. If it fits you, you will not be dissapointed one bit. (9.5/10)
