  1. Your really suppose to use a sweet stick as a touch up or in emergency situations it sounds like your using it way to much and you will eventually ruin your edges and make them very brittle. if your doing your system between every skate your definitely ruining your steel you should just get them sharpened if the get badly nicked up. Remember the small little knicks you get have no effect on your skating at all you'll never notice. I used to get my skates sharpened every time they had a little knick even though i have a X01 it wasn't nessasary. I remember on my sweet stick packaging it says not to use as a substitute for sharpening which is what your description sounds like so I would rethink using it that much and your never really suppose to swipe it with hard pressure either you should be doing light passes only or you risk damaging the steel.
  2. You should never adjust the pitch knob. It says on the holder not to touch the pitch knob.
  3. the yellow super feet i have do have stiffness in the arch, the yellow plastic pice on the bottom runs from the heel past the arch to the ball of your foot its the same plastic piece.
  4. what league do you play in Midnight or HLI?
  5. Some people are and I don't know why. I've been using the 1x since they were released and the APX2s since there release before them and I can say the boot fits the same to me. The only thing I can think of is the 1x tongue is slightly thinner maybe that's why people think it has more volume but the boot has the same fit. my speed plates even fit the same in the apx2 and 1x and have the same feel. I'm not sure if the people that think the fit is different from the APX2 actually used both skates or just tried them on in the store I'm not sure what that's about.
  6. Yes they are very stiff in the arch area and are thinner than superfeet. They will mold exactly to your foot. After the harden up they are a hard plastic.
  7. Yes STX confirmed on twitter it is a E28 clone i may have to give this stick a try now.
  8. It's not that dense it's soft. Last night I played first game with them in my skates and wow what a noticeable difference. I was not curling my toes my pushed had more power for sure. They feel great and perform as advertised
  9. I do the same thing i curl my toes and don't even notice I'm doing it. I just installed the power foot Ill b trying them in a game tonight but just standing in them i can feel there gonna be a big help.
  10. Quick question this is similar to the superfeet thread but the speed plate has a little bit of play it can move about an 1/8 of an inch front and back and even when I'm laced up I can move the insole slightly with my toes if I try to, I haven't noticed them moving while playing so it's proba a non issue but im just curious as to why they are like that?
  11. from what i heard they were always gonna be released on there own in 2016. releasing them anytime close to when the 1Xs come out would be a huge mistake for them people would wait the extra few months and just buy the plates and the LS4 and throw them in there APX2s instead of buying the new skate even though the new boot has a lot of upgrades too. Im sure they may pop up on ebay every once in awhile in the meantime.
  12. what is P29 crosby curve is it any different that the RNH curve or the P87a?
  13. My shots are faster and more accurate with the 1X puck feel and passing is better with the 1X too the only thing the QR1 is a lil lighter pretty much not enough to factor but the durability of the QR1 wasn't great i had alotta paint chips after only 1 game with it. QR1 is great stick IMO 1X is just better.
  14. the P28 is a 5 lie just like the E28. i got the 1X on friday, P28 curve 77 flex its 5 lie and there was no 6 lie option so only 5 lie right now on retail. as far as how close the curve is to e28 or w28 its pretty much exactly the same i have a e28 V9E and a w28 QR1 and theres no real difference the w28 is slight diff in the dual lie but you can't tell when you shoot. so far i only played one game with the 1X scored a goal on a slap shot. clappers are actually very good for a very low kick. Ive been shooting and stick handling with the 1X on the backyard rink for last 3 days and i really like this stick i think its my new #1 and my beloved True A6.0 will move to #2 right now.
  15. get a shallower hollow. the height of the runner has nothing to do with it and the shape doesn't affect your skating much. also if the person who sharpened them isn't who normally does it he maybe makes more passes and the same hollow was actually sharper than your used to.
  16. kovalchuk haVE you tried the True A6.0 yet?
  17. sounds like the rink's ice was too soft for the sharpening you got that also could be why snow was sticking to it. when i had black steel on my APXs i didn't notice snow sticking to it anymore than other steel, usually that changes depending on the ice conditions.
  18. I weigh 145 and skate on a 1" on soft ice 3/4" on hard and my edges feel great if you have good knee bend you can skate on a much shallower hollow than you would think
  19. no your blade may not be centered of the wheel to get even edges it's the center of where the spinner leaves its shape on the wheel and in my experience it's different when you change spinner sizes I usually have to adjust the holder to the new spinner.
  20. Some sharpeners use leather to hone the steel since it doesn't affect the mirror finish. I personally have the Step blacksteel which looks like a black v steel since it also has a mirror finish and I use a leather pad taped to a cut piece of hockey stick as a handle it works well but like jimmy said they don't really need honing after a sharpening.
  21. I just got the Step Black steel a couple weeks ago and they are awesome I had them profiled to the same specs as my V-steel and even though its only been 2 weeks they seem to hold an edge a little better than the v-steel but i didn't notice that much of a difference but I love the look of them the black runner on my NXGs look awesome. Someone who has or seen blackedge runners i was wondering do the have a mirror finish like the black steel does or not. I know you cant stone either one. no its definitely not just in your head the Step totally out preforms bauers super stainless and pretty much any bauer runner. I used to have the Fusions that came on my skates and I really didn't like them plus they bend if hit by a hard shot. When i upgraded to step V-steel it was like night and day. Plus i get my skates sharpened every week so the height of step is great not just for tight turning and profiling but the runners last much longer.
