  1. Piggy-backing off of an old thread... What would be your pick for the knee pad with good protection on the "side" of the knee? I've had my Reebok 18K's for about 4 years now. Great fit, excellent protection up front and no problem until this season. I took puck to the side of the knee for the second time in 3 months. Both times left me with a gnarly bruise on the side of the knee as there was not much there for protection. I'm a D-man so unfortunately I find myself in the way of a shot or cross pass more often than I'd like...
  2. Yes and yes to baking the boots and Speedplates. You'll have to see what steel they come with and decide what to do. LS4 is nice but not necessary. Your options are pretty limited for "something else" with the LS Edge holders.
  3. Why do you play with goalie stick?
  4. ...and I thought I have a problem.
  5. There was a link to Kickstart page posted here awhile ago of a hockey bag development. It looked pretty interesting. Backpack strap, lots of compartment - what you're looking for. Either way, sounds like you're pretty sold on Pro15. Why not just get it? Asking here, you'll likely get the responses 1) Warrior pro bag is awesome, 2) Grit tower is OK, and 3) Bauer bags have durability issue and some variations of it. You want to get Pro15. Sounds like we're not going to change your mind.
  6. Upgrade for the upcoming season... Helmet - Bauer 7500 w/ cage Shoulder - Sherwood 5030 Elbows - Sherwood 5030 Gloves - Eagle Aero Pro Pants - Warrior Dynasty Girdle w/ Dynasty Shell Shins - Reebok 18K Skates - Bauer Supreme 180 Sticks - Easton Mako II (65 flex, E4 curve)
  7. Haha. You sir, have a problem... I love the Eagle PPF/Aero, Warrior Franchise fit. So nice...
  8. Infamous or famous...? ;) It's a sweet stick. Hate to see it disrespected. Awesome find!!!
  9. I see you got the new Bauer Kitty Cat performance insert. Looks like the extra plouff size too. Nice.
  10. +1 Yup. Did mine at home as well. Super easy. Do what zorlac says.
  11. He means there is limit to how much you can trim. If the Speed plate is too big to begin with (ie size 11 when you need 8.5) you're SOL. Location of arch maybe an issue but also too large of a Speed plate may not feet widths-wise as well. Speed plates come in full sizes. So if you need .5 size, you buy the full size up and trim down. That's per Bauer's sizing chart. I'm in 8.5D, I bought a size 9 and trimmed down.
  12. What the heck is x bionic power shirt?
  13. But then he won'the have all matching gears...
  14. ^ agree. It'll take no time before you'll be back to where you were - and getting even better! Just need to get used to the new skates. Your foundation work will be there when you do. Just like riding bicycles =P. I've got back into hockey few years ago after 20+ years of hiatus (played up to bantam leagues). Took me a bit to get the hang of it again but I got back into the grove after few months... Keep it up and enjoy the skates with your son!
  15. Supreme 180's. I don't use the shim. I do have ginormous big toe (at least it feels it to me...) and it was tad bit too tight with the shims.
  16. Traded off some of the gears, dusted off some of the old faithful - this is what I've got going for the summer sessions. Helmet - Bauer 7500 w/ cage Shoulder - Sherwood 5030 Elbows - DR 1200 Gloves - Eagle Aero Pro Pants - Warrior Dynasty Girdle w/ Dynasty Shell Shins - Reebok 18K Skates - Bauer Supreme 180 Sticks - Easton Mako II (85 flex E4) & True A5.2 (85 flex MC)
  17. You won't regret it. My skating improved significantly this season thanks to two things - 10' radius runners and POWERFOOT. Wouldn't want to be without either... ever.
  18. I had the exactly same wear on my old Bauer Supreme One.7's. I tuck my tongues and always thought the wear was from the shin pads. Never really thought much about it. Just got into a new pair of Supreme 180's but haven't had them long enough to see the wear yet. I'm sure it will show... This has got me curious now. I'll try to take a better look at my One.7'school and report back.
  19. OK. Scored me a Supreme 180 skates on 50% discount, thus completing my great equipment round up... only took me like 3 years but happy with the set up now.
