Fletch it's great to see you're finally able to show off those skates in action lol
-
from what ive seen and heard from a few friends it looks like red fades pretty quick. But not so much so that it looks too pink. But i cant really say with too much first hand experience. I have 1 red star and it faded some, but it seems like it was pretty hard to get evenly colored at first. Hopefully some others can give more insight. cant wait to see what the final will look like. +1 Please post pictures.

I guess I should have mentioned I don't usually use grip sticks but I liked how the grip AK27 looks compared to the clear version. My bad :) .
-
To some yes, to me...not at all haha.

I have a dolomite that still has all the graphics after a few months of use. I really could care less I just thought it was funny, only downside like I said is that the graphics is also the grip so the grip is missing in some spots.
-
Hah nothing, the graphics started peeling in my hands.
-
New toy :D And just to comment on the durability of the GRAPHICS  They are terrible! Hahah I haven't even used this thing yet just stick handled around my house with a stickhandling ball. This is how the other side looks now. My jokes about the graphics aside the crushed velvet grip is nice if you don't like too much grip. It feels a bit slicker than the Soft Touch grip from Mission. At this point it won't matter though because by the time I can use it the grip and graphics will have peeled away completely.

At first glance those xxxx's don't even look like they are the same material as unpainted ones, I couldn't put my finger on it but the "leather looks" as lampliter87 put it does describe it well. Either way great job and take some pictures after a few games I am curious to see how it holds up.

Time for an update, skated for the second time on the blades last night. I don't know if it was the ice being harder because of the temperature but I felt a bit faster and definitely wasn't as tired at the end of practice and the half a hour of conditioning we had to do... <_< All in all I am beginning to enjoy it. Hopefully it gets better as time goes on like some of you said it does lol.
-
Yup you nailed that sucker on the head.
-
Yeah I don't blame you, I am a diehard Islanders fan so being team specific with a tattoo right now could be a bad idea lol. It was just a thought of what you could do to add onto that. I really like that idea alot even the way you posted it though. Let us know what you do, I can't wait to see it.

Bob did the FBV along with a combo radius and forward pitch for me. The first time skating on it was a whole new experience. While I could definitely feel the difference in the glide and bite, I was more concerned with my discomfort due to the pitch change. The second time out on the ice was a lot better, and the third time I could really begin to appreciate the effects of FBV as I had almost completely adjusted to the forward pitch. In other words, give yourself one or two more skates to adjust to the pitch change and you'll really appreciate the FBV. Bob did the same for me and I knew it would be uncomfortable, he made it clear in the 2 page summary he sent me about my sharpening. I'm not worried just eager to get back on the ice to try it again.

Got to skate on it tonight. I'm not going to jump to any conclusions as I also got my steel profiled and minor pitched forward, so it made for an akward skating feeling. I did notice some better gliding but not too much and definitely felt like I was grabbing in turns more. I want to get a few more skates on it before I make any assessments but none the less I did like how it felt so far.

I'm assuming you're a Canadians fan, you could always put the logo at center ice. I don't know how big it will be or how much money you want to spend but it's an idea.
-
I am my sharpener  I've only been sharpening for 2 years so I don't call myself an expert by any means I don't notice any burn marks and the steel isn't hot to the touch when I finish them [who knows I may still be doing something wrong] but I think the slapshot I got hit with from about 10 feet out may have helped the steel crack too. <_<
-
What skates do you use, if you don't mind my asking. Just a guess, but are they Bauer supremes by any chance? :-) Ding Ding!
-
My steel cracked last night in my game and since I'm off now for a little while and I have some extra steel laying around my room so I finally got around to sending an e-mail to no icing sports. I can't wait to try out the FBV. :)

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
dalebert replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
This will be my last post about these skates until they are done just because I think I'm taking this topic in the wrong direction lol but I don't care much for black tuuks or all white skates but I think they would just look SOOO good. C_L_F thanks for the mock up, I think the Commander is going to be the way to go.- 2845 replies

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
dalebert replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
crazy-luke-finch photshopped some in the "Photoshopped equipment" thread here I had seen it before it did add a good amount of fuel to the fire but I'm waiting for my shop to get the Commander in my size and that will eventually make my decision. I may end up doing both lol.- 2845 replies

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
dalebert replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
Speaking of the whole inline to ice conversion, I'm contemplating a pair of the new boss black skates with tuuks. May be too much white so I may go with the Commander Black. I just can't decide which skate and if I really should...I love my one95's - 2845 replies

Not gunna go off topic here but check your PM's xstartxtodayx. Now to get back on topic I think girls with tattoos on the ribcage depending on what it is drives me crazy. I hate stupid meaningless tattoos like the girl I met who got "nutshelf" tattooed on the inside of her bottom lip. I have to admit though it did make me chuckle.
