Let me put it this way, if you buy a new car from a Ford dealer and upon delivery find that the car is a lemon, do you deal directly with the Ford plant that made the car or do you deal with the dealership that sold you the car?  If you tried talking to the head of production at the plant, think you're going to get anywhere?  If the dealer works with the factory on your behalf, think you might get a better outcome?

You paid for skates that don't fit for whatever reason, so make Pure Hockey do their job and resolve the issue.

Edit: my point is that True will likely accept the opinion of their licensed dealer that the skates need to be remade, (an expert opinion in theory).  To them, you could just be a nitpicking customer, (not an expert).

Exactly.  They have a business model set up.  He still hasn’t said what Pure told him when he asked them for help.  The story just is a little off to me.

Man, glad you guys don't offer restaurant recommendations.

The OP is obviously frustrated with True. He was promised and paid for a product and service he did not receive. When he pointed it out, their response was in his opinion unsatisfactory. So why the hell would he continue to do business with them.... I wouldn't.

Just asking for details.  Others have had issues with Trues and it seems like they worked with their LHS and True and in many cases got things figured out.  "I called True and all I got were these lousy insoles, end of story" sounds like there should be more to it.

I don’t see how this is a reasonable approach from True. I’ve detailed to True how there is room at the back of his heel when skating. There is no heel lock. His feet are sliding forward to the top of the toe box - it does not take a fitting expert to determine that the skates do not fit properly.

Nobody knows the issues better than the person who’s wearing the boot. It would be one thing if there were pressure points and such... there’s not. True sent me a set of boots that are entirely too big and their solution to their screw up is footbeds..

But what did Pure say when you brought up the issue with them?  Did they tell you contact True directly?  Did they say they can't help or weren't willing to help?

    Thanks for the response.

The store cannot do much about having the skates remade. I wish they could. I’m sure they can work with me on getting into a different skate.

A true rep’s response was to send footbeds, so I’ve been in touch with True.

But did you actually ask Pure to intervene?

Not the best analogy. That 1000hp car isn't made for traffic, really not even meant to be used as a daily driver.

Whats a composite outsole cost Bauer per skate, a few bucks? It's obvious Bauer is cutting corners in areas where those buying it won't care and/or won't notice a difference.

If people buying it won’t notice a difference then it was the right move.  I can’t imagine, as a product manager, trying to make the case to use a more expensive approach that I can’t argue will have any effect on performance or sales.

In that case let’s charge $1199 for a Graf 703 and call it a day. You’re missing the point.

    Really?

You charge by perceive value and the customer’s willingness to pay.  There are options.  If its as big a deal as you are making it then people will vote with their wallets.

Well I mean, its basically the same girdle Tackla has had for what, 40+ years? The foams may be updated and stuff though.

I always liked the idea of the T1 and the SuperTacks girdles just being wraps, but because I'm a "round" guy, if you know what I mean, I had a lot of difficulty with things staying in place. Stuff had a tendency to shift down because of the belly and the love handles. So I don't think my opinion is going to mean much to you unless you're also that shape.

That said, the pads on this thing are huge and... bubbly? Kind of weird. But I definitely like how it fits out of the box. I'll get it on the ice next week maybe.

I've been wearing that girdle for a while.  Pretty much the same as the old Cooper CG2, assuming the padding is a little better.  Somehow I lost my shell though so I am wearing Tackla pants again, not bad but a little roomy.

I don't think the Blues have it in them to win game 7. This was a wasted opportunity and I think they're deflated. I think any time you lose a potential series-clinching game in game 6, the chances of you winning a game 7 seem slim. I'd love to see the numbers on that, actually. Though, analysts have been pretty adamant this year in particular that momentum game to game seems to not exist. So who knows. I hope they can do it, but I'm not expecting it to happen.

I agree and wouldn't put money on the Blues but honestly I have been surprised at how both teams have bounced back from losses so you never know.

The Blues hitting game is finally taking its toll on them (The Blues). The Blues looked tight and the Bruins beat them to just about every puck.

Until things fell apart I thought the opposite, the Blues forced a ton of turnovers in the Ozone.  Rask kept that game where it was until Boston broke through.  Kind of opposite of Game 5.  Not sure of what happened after 3-0 so that may tell a different story, I went to bed.

I honestly wish the topic title link itself took you to the first unread, at the very least if you're currently browsing from the "unread content" page. I looked to see if that was an option but I didn't see it. Maybe somebody has made a 3rd party plug-in...

Just found it.  You can set the Read St... (not sure what the full title is, it is truncated on my ipad) to “Unread item links take me to first unread post”.  Then you can also dave that or any other combo of filters as a custom activity stream.  You then access it through the menu but i don't know that you can link these settings with the unread  posts icon, you still have to navigate the menu to get to it.

    Haha, very low indeed.

I thought the same with McAvoy's hit on Anderson in game 6 of the BOS/CBJ series. That wasn't the case. Anderson didn't miss a shift and McAvoy, a first time offender, still got a game.

Yeah, but to me that was textbook hit to the head, this one is more gray for me.  Grzelyck puts himself in a screwed up position.  He tries to cut back and his feet go one way and the top of his body another almost.  But I would rather they (consistently!) err on this side of the line than the other.

  12. I am often surprised at how people justify head hits but honestly, I just watched this a bunch more times and can’t see how they gave him a game.  I think they should be way more aggressive policing headshots but I see him follow him into the corner, both at speed,  Grzelyck takes no angle to the puck so he has nowhere to go, ends up in a little awkward position, and Sundqvist hits him.  Haven’t listened to the DOPS video yet but surprising given past standards.
