Hello guys. Im having issues with my shoulder pads. I have CCM Quicklite L shoulder pads. I’m female so it’s a little tricky to get fit right. I flat out hate them. Lacking protection, they bunch up and my stomach is exposed badly. Also, they ride up. I’m 5’4 with a fairly large bust and large, broad ahouldeds I have tried and will never try women’s shoulder pads again. I’m looking for top end, high quality pads as I have had shoulder issues and play with very strong guys. I’m looking for the longest pads plus ones that stay in place and stop making me look humoungus. Im looking at pro stock. I don’t know much of the differences. But I’m looking at: rbk 4K jofa 8400 JOFA 9400 jofa 8600 rbk 6k all of these are in M/L, L of XL I have no idea on the differences in the lines of these too I can see differences but dunno what’s a good and bad pad im also definitely open to retail pads I’ve just heard these are the best of the best for durability and protection from retail I’m looking st Bauer Supreme mainly and maybe nexus they seem lower down to meet my pants Thanks for your help!

I agree... this is getting ridiculous. The FT2 was just released and now there’s FT3... like really? I thought Burns always used a super fast...

Got my new Hg98 gloves in! The protection is way better than I thought it would be. Was not sure as I couldn’t find an XP model. Plastic inserts in the whole glove and the Kevlar patch will hopefully make them last longer https://imgur.com/gallery/qaeSL6v

True. I know tons of players use Jofa/RBK which I thought was pro spec. Just old gear they have become accustomed to.

https://imgur.com/gallery/7uim6m5 im shocked that pro players wouldn’t be using the top of the line elbow pads. Aho looks to have S190 elbows. Is this common?

Ccm pro stock 4 roll gloves HG97/98 etc
Oilers97 replied to Oilers97's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Awesome. I ended up buying the HG98 on sls. It’s harder to find 13” gloves as I have small hands (I’m a girl lol). It should be a fine pair of gloves if it’s designed for pros. Would have liked XP but these should be great. Yeah the 96 would probably be too wide for me as I use 13N franchise and prefer the 4 roll style Thanks so much everyone. -
Ccm pro stock 4 roll gloves HG97/98 etc
Oilers97 replied to Oilers97's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
It’s not hockey related... I slammed my pinky and ring in a car door super hard and smashed them up. I played with my franchise on the weekend but was nervous as the sides have no padding. They seem good on the back hand and thumb. My ultras suck period. I’ve taken shots off ten and have been bruised and almost broke the same finger I hurt now and had a painful one off the index finger. I’m looking for mainly heavy duty finger protection and definitely down the side. Someone else was telling me the 98 doesn’t have a plastic insert. Is that right? -

Ok cool. These ones don’t but should they be more protective than my franchise and ultra Tacks? -

I’ve been looking for ones with the Xp, PP or SP. so would the ones without like just HG** not have much protection as compared to say retail. I hate my ultra Tacks. They have f all for protection. Hurt my hands a few times now only use them on the ODR and wear my franchise in games. I just want an even beefier glove. -
Hi. I was looking at a pair of HG98 gloves. I’m using warrior franchise right now and I was wonder what the fit is like as well as protection. I have broken some fingers (not in my franchise gloves or hockey) and really want some better protection I feel the side of the franchise lack any padding What is the difference between Hg96/97/98? I can’t find any guide online for pro stock glove codes for CCM. Thanks.

This ^^^^ I had a grey cage and couldn’t figure out why I missed so many passes. Went to a Bauer profile II i2 (black outside white inside) and I’ve never had an issue again. I barley notice it at all.

I know... sideline swap isn’t too bad. Usually 12-20 dollars for helmets and gloves. -

This is why I refuse to use PSH 63 bucks shipping for a pair of gloves is not happening -
I held that and a fantom. Honestly, at my skill level I can barley tell much of a difference between my Ribcore reckoner (fave stick) and the trigger 2 with the same specs I tried. I notice a difference between flex and kick point (I had a super and still have an ultra Tacks) and blade but really, I go for the clearance rack as I tend to be hard on sticks. I’ve heard durability issues with the first vapour adv and I can’t justify 450 dollars on a stick that may last me a season.

Thank you so much. This is exactly what I was wondering. It’s mainly because I have the narrow heel and huge wide forefoot. Like a duck lol. And even nexus EE doesn’t work (they said I’m an EEE nexus which is a EEEE in most other skates). But the heel is way too large no matter what. I’m leaning towards true. Three of my teammates just ranting and raving. But I’m going to go to the bigger city to a pro shop. Thanks everyone.
-
Oh trust me. I’ve tried on every line of skate. And yeah I agree fitting still may be an issue. The ccm tack and jetspeed wouldn’t even go on. My foot legit just hovered. Nothing fit. Ribcore was ok. But too tight in the forefoot. Bauer 1X and 1S didn’t fit either. 1N was the only one my foot could fit flat in and had an ok forefoot. It’s been punched and stretched 5 times. With customs, are you getting s full custom boot with the graphics you choose or just slightly modified? If none of these work, would the custom not either? I guess that’s my question. I live in a city with no place that offer custom so I’d have to travel to a larger city.
-
Im aware of that but I was just trying to see if anyone has tried all three and how custom are they. I have yet to see a full out comparison of all three brands in terms of customization, price, and quality.
-
Sorry if there is a topic comparing all 3: I have never ever ever been able to find a skate that fits properly. I have a very wide forefoot and a narrow heel. I was fitted in 1Ns 1.5 years ago and absolutely hate them. My heel does not stay in place and lifts up. I’ve tried stable 26 socks that help slightly. And still even with punching, stretching and heating the forefoot is too tight and causes me extreme foot pain unless the skate is very Loose. I am stuck. I don’t want to buy another pair of skates that aren’t going to fit. It’s ruining any performance I have or ability to skate. So customs are probably my next step. I know three brands have Custom skates. I’ve heard mixed things about true, good things about CCM (other than they are costly) and not much about Bauer. I really am looking at CCM as I am a huge fan of their other gear. I’ve done some research but for my specific foot issues would a custom skate even help? The severe issue is the foot pain from the skate squeezing. What are your thoughts? Thanks so much!

I wonder why petey is using that instead of his normal reakt? he did try a 150 in the season. Odd if he’s a Bauer guy.

My Ek15 arrived. Absolutely in love with the retro graphic. 65 flex PP26 (P92 equivalent)
-
Thanks. I got the retro wood one from sport chek for 141 with 10% off and free shipping. I like PP26 (same as P29 P92) and 65 flex (I’m female). I usually use 60-67 so it’s perfect. I can’t even bend a 85 lol.

I ended up ordering the one online with the specs I like. It has excellent reviews. I’ve never had a Sherwood and am super excited to try it. I like light.
