For them they can get skates whenever they want, every 2 weeks like Phaneuf, or never like Komarov and Marleau did. So for Kovy, he has a pair of skates already broken in out the box. Then when the last bit of support in the skates go, get a new set.

New skates suggestions(about $221.69)
Left Wing King replied to value77's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
They just feel good. You won't get aches or pains. -
Only thing I can think of is it is going to offer less resistance for taking a shot as there is less of the stick having to pass through the atmosphere. Might help with getting shots off quicker, especially because the Nexus line is a mid kick and not a low kick.

Ok so I have a 2nd pair of skates that I have donated to lady friend, now she enjoys skating and we have changed the laces and it has made an improvement over all to the skate. The next thing that need changing are the wheels which I'm guessing have been on there since they were made some years ago. Got some extra life out of them by rotating them. However. These skates are solely to be used for recreational skating on concrete, no hockey. Can you recommend some decent wheels that will last a long time, or should we look into getting just some very firm wheels.

Fitting a full shield on daughter’s helmet
Left Wing King replied to fliteskates's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I prefer it tight to the chin with a little bit of movement. If it was swinging about loose it would do my nut in. -

I wear one, and I twist the two straps going up the side before I clip them on to put the chin cup in place. -
Get ice skates and go the conversion route?

Left Wing King replied to ParabolicActivity's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Well that is just bollocks, might have to start stockpiling some skates then. Thanks for the heads up. -

Nexus Sticks Discontinued?
Left Wing King replied to ParabolicActivity's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
That is bollocks if the skates are going, they're a great fit for me I have N9000s and I love them. -
Skates to tight, or not wide enough in the first place.

True skates coming from Supreme 2S Pro

Why not stick with Supremes? -
I'd say Marsblades and shooting tiles are probably your best bet, tarmac the area, few green biscuits etc. However judging by your back yard, you're not short of cash so it could be worth trying tiles out as above.

Fuck me here in the UK you goto the shop and they still ask if you're on a half inch hollow. Not me though 7/16ths I'd like to try some of these profiles, but we simply don't have the facilities to do it. I'd assume all our players in the current IIHF Championships are on traditional hollows.

I took my dog along a cycle track then canal and it was good. I enjoyed it. I do have some vids on FB, but yes, the transition between both is easier now!!

Well I've been on Marsblades all week, I then get back on ice again yesterday, took less than a minute to get used to being on ice again. My stride was the same, Marsblades are brilliant. Just need to find a really smooth patch of concrete.

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
Left Wing King replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
Speaking to a mate who has a pair, he's kept his quite tight still. I'll try that until I'm used to them. Glad I went with the boot conversion though.- 2854 replies

That's good, as the big thing going from ice to roller is getting used to the strides again.

Well I've done it, I have ordered some Nexus 7000s and had them sent to be converted to Marsblaedes. If interested I'll let you know how it goes.
-
That's what I'm thinking. Too be honest I'm thinking of getting some Nexus 7000s as used Nexus9000 in my size are hard to find. I've not heard a bad word about the blades either.

I'm 95% on getting Marsblades. I currently wear a Bauer Nexus n9000 6ee. Is it worth converting these and buying new ones, or going with the Marsblades FMT ONE but they are only in a d fit. I have had issues before with narrow skates. I have e-mailed Marsblades, just wondering if anyone has experience with Verbero boots and their fit.
