For them they can get skates whenever they want, every 2 weeks like Phaneuf, or never like Komarov and Marleau did. So for Kovy, he has a pair of skates already broken in out the box. Then when the last bit of support in the skates go, get a new set.

New skates suggestions(about $221.69)
Left Wing King replied to value77's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
They just feel good. You won't get aches or pains. -
Only thing I can think of is it is going to offer less resistance for taking a shot as there is less of the stick having to pass through the atmosphere. Might help with getting shots off quicker, especially because the Nexus line is a mid kick and not a low kick.

Ok so I have a 2nd pair of skates that I have donated to lady friend, now she enjoys skating and we have changed the laces and it has made an improvement over all to the skate. The next thing that need changing are the wheels which I'm guessing have been on there since they were made some years ago. Got some extra life out of them by rotating them. However. These skates are solely to be used for recreational skating on concrete, no hockey. Can you recommend some decent wheels that will last a long time, or should we look into getting just some very firm wheels.

Fitting a full shield on daughter’s helmet
Left Wing King replied to fliteskates's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I prefer it tight to the chin with a little bit of movement. If it was swinging about loose it would do my nut in. -

I wear one, and I twist the two straps going up the side before I clip them on to put the chin cup in place. -
Get ice skates and go the conversion route?

Well that is just bollocks, might have to start stockpiling some skates then. Thanks for the heads up. -

Nexus Sticks Discontinued?
Left Wing King replied to ParabolicActivity's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
That is bollocks if the skates are going, they're a great fit for me I have N9000s and I love them. -
Skates to tight, or not wide enough in the first place.

True skates coming from Supreme 2S Pro

Why not stick with Supremes? -
I'd say Marsblades and shooting tiles are probably your best bet, tarmac the area, few green biscuits etc. However judging by your back yard, you're not short of cash so it could be worth trying tiles out as above.

Bauer custom skate ordering process?
Left Wing King replied to VegasHockey's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
So it gives you the family of skate you should be in, sizes and widths. It is then upto you to work out what year and model you want. I went to Puckstop and the guy didn't even use the Bauer gizmo, he got out like a foot measurer you got in Clarkes and it left a heat trace, took one look at them and he was like you need Nexus, You know what. I have no complaints with the skates, they feel like they fit perfectly. -
Bauer custom skate ordering process?
Left Wing King replied to VegasHockey's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Just one on the Bauer scanner, does it offer all ranges of its boots say going back to 2016, or is it current year stock only. I say this as out of interest I watched Chase from Hockey Warehouse do a review on Bauer 2Ns and he said they're an in between of the old 1n and n9000 (which I own) Or does the scanner say you should be in a Nexus range this length and this width then it is upto you to find what boot from what year etc? -
Loads of EIHL jerseys on Facebook, I have two Manchester Phoenix (now defunct jerseys I'd sell

I'd say eBay for some wacky european gear.

I use a fishbowl, and smear washing up liquid on the inside of it before use. Never had a fogging issue.
-
Gopping init.

Maybe try loosening the laces over the forefoot then tighten tighter going up the ankle. I notice if I tighten mine to tight, they do hurt, when I have the laces just looser and tighter up the ankle, they're like slippers.

Best “non-compression” skating socks
Left Wing King replied to Cavs019's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I just use dress socks tbh. -
Fuck me here in the UK you goto the shop and they still ask if you're on a half inch hollow. Not me though 7/16ths I'd like to try some of these profiles, but we simply don't have the facilities to do it. I'd assume all our players in the current IIHF Championships are on traditional hollows.

I'm in Nexus N9000 and they have so much more room than my older skates. Your best bet, like what I did was goto a local established shop and get measured, then find what boots fit in that size range. The guy measured my feet and instantly said Nexus range.
