As a hockey dad with a Hobbit footed son who only fits in a Supreme Fit 3 this worries me….

Paluce knows his stuff. My boy was using a Prosharp Quad Profile before Paluce set him up with his Quad Hybrid profile which seems similar to this Omni setup and it was love at first skate. My boy did get acclimated and appreciate the forward pitch that’s added to prosharp profiles so Paluce added same pitch for us, but profile is night and day better…

My Kid is around 150lb and has been using 70flex Proto with all the abuse that comes with high level competitive play and stick has been holding up remarkably well, with a few others on the team having same results. Surprised to hear of durability issues. This season on my kids teams and out in the wild I’ve seen more broken Triggers and Hyperlites than anything else with a few Jetspeeds here and there…

3 months in with extensive use, Son is extremely happy with all aspects of his Proto-R stick. I’m happy with durability.

My son is a 90TM convert this season and I can usually find a few between Bauer and Ccm on the rack at retail. Not sure if it’s growing in popularity or I just notice it more now…

Put in order for set of custom Protos for Christmas gift. He is moving from Hyperlite as well, it was his first low kick moving from Nexus but the Proto brought him back to Mid Kick gang. Hope Blade durability isn’t issue… fingers crossed 🤞

Got a set of profiled steel en route courtesy of Paluce. Boy went from stock to Quads early this year and took to them immediately. He’s coming from a Quad 2 to Hybrid so I’ll do write up after some time on ice.

Son said same thing, didn’t like the Ghost. Proto-R was winner but he also enjoyed the Trigger 8 Pro, so maybe there is a preference toward the stiffer blades there based on what Vegas stated.

Hopefully we get some of those machines out here sometime in the next decade… always last to the party with new tech in this market. looking at website I’d definitely like to try it out. Is that shop local for you or do you mail your steel in? Did your boy use any prosharp profiles prior to the Quad Hybrid profile?

My sons club and looks like most if not all at least out west, sent out email in response to incident and the requirement of neck guards moving forward…

Would be curious to try Skatescibe and compare options or profiles to existing Prosharp profile boys on, but don’t think anyone in left-coast states has one of those Lamborghini machines. The ME Quad/981 profile sounds like in interesting option to try coming from prosharp Quad. Which Manufacturer’s proprietary profile is it?

Love Warroad gear. Picked up New Neck guard base layer shirt for boy last month and he says most comfortable he’s ever worn. Wish I picked up another one as they look to be sold out for foreseeable future…

Hopefully thread stays active for any other Craftsman on Left Coast to be acknowledged and help save that wasteland of damaged steel out here and receive the business of those who appreciate skill.

Hey Monty, That’s Disappointing and kind of surprising to hear when I considered the smaller market and lack of knowledge out here to be part of the problem after my experience and others I’ve heard in recent months. Over the years The Sparx home sharpeners have definitely become more prevalent with probably more than half the Dads on sons current team having one in the garage. I’ve weighed the Pros and cost of getting one myself and when/if my younger one picks game up it would probably make sense for Sharpening. As a tradesman and someone that didn’t play the game myself I respect the skill and knowledge of a professional who’s expertise goes beyond a sharp edge, who has pride in their work, an ear to ground in advancements of technique/equipment and ability and joy to discuss the subject. Equipment including steel has gone up every year… just seems to go against common sense to spend what we do on skates and hand investment over to teenager to butcher in between TikTok views…

Hey Vegas, I’m in Southern California. Going through archives I saw you sold your store and moved onto bigger projects in Hockey world, Congratulations. Your posts in the Prosharp forum gave me a lot of useful information and confidence stepping into world of Profiles earlier this year. Appreciate any direction or suggestions you’d recommend.

Hey Y’all, Would like to thank this forum and it’s members for all the posts and Knowledge that this Hockey Dad who didn’t know a toe drag from a Mohawk and has been using Modsquad as a resource since my boy first laced em’ up 6 years ago. Lurking through archives can’t find anything recent on a recommended competent pro shop non big box sharpener/profiler on west coast or at least west of Rockies. Can’t trust profile or Edge work at local PH after they’ve somehow made edges worse with automated Sparx machine on last few sharpenings… Appreciate any guidance or recommendations Cheers
