  1. A high milage engine that will cost an arm and a leg to fix, not exactly the best bang for the buck. Bang for your buck in performance, didn't specify whether he wanted a car that was cheap to maintain... And they aren't too bad to maintain when you have friends that are BMW mechanics. :D
  2. Buzz's collection always makes me feel better about mine. My friends hassle me because I have 11 player sticks and 4 goalie sticks.
  3. I believe so. I don't think with canon, which I am most familiar with. I believe that sony and canon normally uses a 400 has standard. I think I recall seeing a nikon with a 320 ISO but I'm not 100% sure. Also with no flash and high iso you'll need to hold as still as possible. Try with the flash but if it doesn't work dont use it. :) Just to clearify ISO is what most people refer to as shutter speed. For a sport as fast as hockey the faster the better. Just to add: The speed of your ISO isn't in direct correlation to the quality of your camera, it's just a feature like a large LCD screen. Most people will never need anything over 400 and even for taking photos of high level hockey 800 isn't fast enough, especially in close.
  4. tell your mom to set the ISO speed to at least 800 if available. 400 is too slow, also taking off the flash might help as well... but the pictures will be a bit grainy. The higher the ISO the better but most pocket sized cameras have 400 or 800 at the best.
  5. haha seems like. Oddly enough UPS's website finally updated and let me know that delivery was rescheduled to the 30th... THEN a couple hours later my doorbell rings and guess who was there! I like it, you were right about the bar across the eyes... luckily it's a little below my eyes so it doesn't effect my vision but I can see it bothering some people. And just to let people know it's a little wide for my ccm bucket, it barely makes it into the j-clips.
  6. around here you should expect to pay $30 for a radius job... $8 is a steal, especially if you do more than a good ol' hack job.
  7. $8 isn't bad... Seriously I don't understand why people complain over stuff like this. You got a service, expect to pay. If you think you might be charged ASK! It's not that hard. And seriously if you are having trouble spending $33 to get something that you liked when you were coming in for a sale for something that was $30 maybe you shouldn't be spending money in the first place. Here I'll give you $3 to shut up and go away... sorry, I had a bad day at work.
  8. Actually, I had a question about the "grip zone." Mine has a very light grip and a bit of texture, feels good without gloves and not sticky with gloves but you can feel it. Is this the norm? Or can I expect something more tacki from retail sticks or other pro stocks?
  9. oh, I see. My XXX lite ("watt" prostock) is supposed to be modano curve with Drury toe look, but it has Drury. I guess factory makes mistake (or possibly defeated one). Nice stick. I would get one soon. Oh, how does it feel like? Is it similar as XN10? My XN10 is pro stock as well(just for comparison purposes). The balance on the response lite is better! Amazing but true, the balance point is slightly further from the blade. It also weighs about 450 grams which is 15 less than the xn10 I have but it feels like it's 30-40 grams lighter just because of the balance. The blade isn't as stiff on the RL but is very responsive(with a smarthockey ball, haven't had it on the ice yet). Mind you the retail version might be different but this response lite is now my favorite stick. BTW the stick looks better in person, the black isn't flat black it's got very small silver specs that look great. P.S. I wasn't a huge fan of the texture on the adrenaline and xn10, the coating they put on it almost feel like a wood stick.
  10. I've seen a few variations, luckily I got one that was close to a drury... which is just about the only heel curve that I really like.
  11. Nice stick dieselbro! BK, you know that it was probably a good idea to go with those. I'm hearing more and more people mention that they don't like the palm on the one90. It seems to be a personal preference thing, of course. The palms on the supreme 70s are a lot closer to your average high-end glove than the one90s. Hope you like them!
  12. Thanks guys, only $130. The pic of the curve is a little deceptive, it's more like a Drury that's less open. Nice light stick, perfectly balanced, actually better than my XN10(the balance point is further away from the blade). My new favorite stick! :D
  13. Pro stock Walker TPS Response lite
  14. If it makes you guys feel better it's just not LHS. *Standing next to a heelys stand* "Can you tell me where the heelys are?" Response: *Looks back at rack and waits for response* Sad thing is half the time they don't get it. *Standing next to the basketball isle(Where about 400 basketballs are displayed and basketball systems are along the entire isle* "Do you guys sell basketballs?" Response: "nope" "Excuse me I don't see a size 7 in this shoe" Response: *Looks down and grabs a box that clearly says "US size 7"* And our favorite: *While putting out product in uniform AND nametag* "Do you work here?" Response: "Sometimes" *After wasting about 30 minutes arranging every shoe so that they are all grouped together by model and size a customer comes in and tries on 10 different shoes in about 3 sizes each shoe and either puts them back in the wrong place, wrong box and/or just leaves them on the floor* Response: "Walk away, take a break and curse a lot" Basically anyone that has customers is going to have to deal with it... Sadly smaller buisnesses(such as LHS or mom and pop stores) have more to lose than their job. If someone steals or breaks something from walmart the employee doesn't lose any money, if someone steals or breaks something from a LHS the owner(and half the time worker in the store) loses money. Losg story short be respectful to other people and use common sense before you ask stupid questions.
  15. added(on the way): Bauer 8500 cage for my 692 bucket Pro Stock TPS response lite, walker curve some graf WHITE waxed laces for my 952 tacks ;)
  16. Nice! Although I think I'd prefer the fingers to be nylon too while leaving the cuff and thumb in leather. Very nice pickup.
  17. is that leather and nylon? it looks like the back rolls and outside finger protection is nylon with the thumb and fingers being leather.
  18. I'm not sold on the graphics either, I half want to keep it and half want to trade it... It feels like a great stick but on the other hand I don't like grip sticks and I'm really not a fan of the graphic. It's like CCM is trying to be "wild" with their designs like warrior. If the 8.0 was a non-grip with the old v110/120/130 or even last years graphics, I'd love it.
  19. Pro stock TPS XN10 RP19 2007 CCM Vector 8.0 Grip, regular flex(recchi)
  20. added: Since I'm not sure where I left off with my sticks so here's all of them: Titan woodie(Selanne) Bauer 3000(St Louis) TPS redlite and V40 blade(recchi) Easton Synthesis, with synthesis blade(Iginla) Mission flyweight with a CNT Z-carbon blade(Drury) 2 Mission flyweights with a pro stock mission blade(big toe curve) TPS Response cut-OPS with a TPS R2 blade(Nash) TPS Response XN10 OPS, RP19 curve(Drury) 2007 CCM 8.0(recchi)... Not too sure about the new graphics :-\
  21. A couple new sticks.
  22. well you never know maybe they got messed up in the wash!!! I'm sorry but that picture looks purple-ish, I figured they were royal but... yeah.
