Are shoulders required in your drop in league or what? I havent worn shoulder pads in 2-3 years

I'm not going to play with those sticks. I found them in my grandmother's attic. They belonged to my father and uncle when they were younger. I'll definitely have them mounted in the living room over the flat panel HDTV and surround system.

Ovie is a great player, but he's yet to play on a complete team. The Caps are a couple players away from being cup worthy IMO and the Russian national team is in a rebuilding cycle right now. Their best stars and players are nearing retirement and so on. This year was Canada's most loaded team in quite some time, yet they lost 1 game in the Olympics

Most of the "better" players I've played against sort of are like that. Mismatch, old ass helmets and Bauer/Cooper gloves. I never laugh when I see those guys come out on the ice cuz they're usually a lot better than the guys in newer gear. They're doing backwards crossovers and lateral skating faster than a lot of the guys going forward. I'd say 75% of the guys I run into in pick up who have played overseas, major college or pro tend to have the old gear. Cooper or Jofa helmets, old Tacks or Graf skates. The whole 9 yards.. Its all about comfort and not show because they really do not feel the need to show off anymore. None of them wear shoulder pads on the ice either.

Where did you get the Niskanen? I'd like to get one for myself. Been collecting pro stocks from a few local pros. Found a Mike Erickson Rbk 7k with a fused wood/fiberglass blade. Basically a Sakic with a square toe.

Man, I see a lot of old timers in those worn out skates with the leather turning brown or white. I saw a guy last week in an old Cooper helmet w/brown CCM tacks and Cooper gloves w/the armadillo thumb in the North Stars colors. He could move for a 50 yr old though.

I've still got my CNT, one stick I probably will never sell. Best Easton stick ever made IMO
