all gimmicks if the skate doesn't fit *shrug*
-
Interesting, I already have holders and steel so I asked if I could get mine pre-drilled for Edge holders and was told I couldn’t. I own a skate riveter so I planned to do it myself but figured if the holes are already there it’s one less thing I need to do. Guess I’ll find out when I go in next week for my fitting.

Yes
-
They do, order it from Step
-
Yep, got my Step Blacksteel shipped to US on eBay.
-
I got to see them first hand the other day, thought they look really good and less "homemade" as I always felt the VH looked. Heavier than I expected but I'm excited to go back on payday to get scanned.
-
I got all excited the other day when an email from True popped up saying some of my local "coming soon" custom fit centers were now open and ready. Called them up, nobody knew what I was talking about.
-
For those curious, True lists which retailers will be custom skate fit centers in their store finder.
-
Talked to my closest True dealer and the guy didn't know for sure but suspected they'd be doing fittings, so hopefully. As soon as I sell my 1S I'll order a pair from anybody that can scan my feet.
-
If I can skate pain free(hopefully) I don't care what they look like
-
True uploaded a series of videos to YouTube with Scott Van Horne showing off the skates and adjustment techniques, etc and showed how the tendon guard is affixed with a copper rivet, how to remove and replace the tendon guard if necessary.

catalogue review 2017 True Hockey Catalogue
t1tan replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2017 Product Catalogue Reviews
My guess would be team orders -
hooray for the internet lol
-
Thought they looked familiar, just started watching the series over again waiting for next season.
-
LOL JR I knew if you were to read that you'd know exactly what I was talking about.

Misunderstandings happen, no big deal, I just try not to get into unnecessary detail with my posts. Honestly if you worked for the series of shops I do, you'd know the level of mental retardation I'm dealing with all the way to the top. Months before the booking happened I had a discussion with my managers to make sure a pair in my size was placed, and it was confirmed by them it would happen, obviously it didn't, things run very backwards and upside-down here. All-in-all they're ordered as of today and I was told the rep said expect them next week or the week after, I'm happy, but skate-less for the time being. Sorry for off-topic

2010 Warrior Player Catalogue
t1tan replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2010 Product Catalogue Reviews
Only judging by the picture I like the look of the Projekt elbows having a shorter looking cuff, so far too long of a cuff is my only complaint of my Hustlers, although I've only used them a couple times until this week when a new season starts. So I'll probably be seeing those in my future. -
LOL, I know I believe every word. I wonder what adventures tomorrow will bring me.

Not so much a customer, but nothing was going on today so just killing time sitting at the counter and a guy walks in, I ask him how its going and if he needs any help, says he's just browsing. Comes back a few minutes later and asks why we haven't gotten rid of that terrible Ferrell stuff, I replied saying that I don't use it so I have no opinion either way(really I think it's just garbage) and I ask if he has a problem with Ferrell, he simply replies it sucks and then asks why I don't use it. I state that I hardly wear shoulder pads to begin with and that even if I did wear them I'm more than happy with what I have. Then he starts out of nowhere dropping specs on the Ferrells then claims "273 NHLers use Ferrells", turns out he was the Ferrell rep for the area and he just kept going on and on. After he left I mentioned how annoyed I was about the lies about the product to a co-worker, then he went off trying to convince me that yes all NHL players use Ferrell shoulder pads, but the majority use stripped down shoulders and wear them under their real shoulder pads. This being the same guy that corrected me on sizing up skates saying that I need to tell people 1.5-2 full sizes over what actually fits so they have room for comfort and to grow. I just hate having to work with idiots and this is the guy I end up working with 4 out of 5 times a week, sad thing is he's a manager and continually tries to correct me with his misinformed opinions/info where as I've been playing nearly as long as he's been alive and feel I have good accurate info when it comes to hockey. Other than that today there were more than the average amount of assholes, one problem or opinion more trivial and idiotic than the last. I left the shop to pick up a product from another shop down the road simply to get away from my idiot co-worker for 20 minutes. Working in retail again only makes me feel more justified in hating humanity. Only highlight today was when it came time to clean up a bit, the manager wanted to mop the floor 50/50, after he finished and it came to my turn the shop filled with kids begging to mop the floor, I have no idea why but I had no objections.

Update to anybody in the Chicago area looking for FBV, started working at B&R Sports Aurora yesterday and they got a Blackstone machine in with FBV, supposed to have been hooked up today @ 1. Looking forward to trying it out since I haven't gotten around to it yet.

Just came today along with the shins, messing around with them in the house they feel good, a little longer in the cuff area than I expected, but very mobile and secure.
