    I'll throw my name in the hat for people who have broken their ankles playing hockey. Mine is an ascending fracture (approx. 4.5" long) of the medial maleolus with a detached chunk of bone that is floating around the soft tissue in the arch of my foot. Throw in a lovely case of bursitis on top of the fracture and I am one happy camper. This happened in December but was misdiagnosed by my PCP (and partially me), so I have been playing on it since then up until it was correctly diagnosed two weeks ago. Good times!

    Sorry for the delayed reply, but I finally got some solid information to work with. Apparently the problem is that I have a 4" long ankle fracture and a chipped peice of bone that is just kinda floating around down there. The injury apparently happened back in January and I made it worse by continuing to skate on it which caused the area to develop bursitis (which accounts for the pain and swelling when pressure is placed on the area). So the Eastons did not cause the injury (must have been a slash or deflected puck). As for warranty, I purchased them via eBay over ago and since I don't think they caused the injury to worsen I will probably just look for some new skates and sell the Eastons. Unfortunately I am not allowed to skate for 4-6 months and have to do physical therapy and have an MRI to determine if surgery is necessary. Once I heal I will definitely check out the AGX though; thanks for the help!

    It appears that the ankle padding has broken down to the point where you can easily feel the composite shell through what is left of the padding. What is strange about it is that it did not break down progressively, it was literally great one day and gone the next. Unfortunately by skating in them despite the lack of padding I had developed some sort of injury to the interior ankle bone (the medial maleolus I am told). I am seeing a Doctor who specializes in sports medicine on Monday to see whether or not it will require surgery. I guess what I am looking for in terms of new skates is something that will provide slightly more cushion to the ankle area and has a moderately wide mid-foot area. Thanks for your help!

    Hey Zac, I was wondering if you could elaborate on the ankle padding found on the AGX skates. I loved the Indy Foam found on the Flyweight series from years ago. I have developed some significant bruising and pain on my inner ankle bone while skating on my Synergy 1500's for the past year and would love to find a skate with more significant padding in that area. Also, how is the fit in the mid-foot area? Thanks in advance!

    Thanks, it was an incredibly nice birthday gift from my in-laws of all people. I had to jimmy-rig the backboard in order to attach it to the bench, but I think it turned out well. Next will be the matching Craftsman 12 drawer vertical tool chest ;)

    No, actually just a 7.2 megapixel Olympus 710. I am going to Hawaii in December and will be upgrading to a DSLR before I go.

    doogie24: Yeah the Woody is something I have wanted to pick up ever since my first XXX Lite met an untimely demise. I picked it up on eBay earlier this week for what I thought was a fair price. A2rhino: Thanks, I try to keep my gear in as nice of shape as possible. The grip is some kind of spray-on rough textured grip. It was on it when I bought it new a few years back, so I presume it was done by Mission at the factory (please feel free to correct me if I am wrong). houk: I do notice a small difference between the RBII and the E-Pro in that the RBII feel like they have a little more spring to them (obviously because of the LPS2 perforated steel). They are both on a 9' radius with 1/32" forward pitch, so I don't really notice any difference when skating on them. liroadrunners and vitaminZ: Thanks for the compliments! The Team Comp has been a great back-up stick ($10 off of eBay brand new).
