But you've got to see the other side, hilarious:
-
But he wore Reebok in his early AHL days and for his NHL coffee, so I think he's just saying that generally. Could still be DASC, but it wasn't, strictly speaking, that he started wearing them exactly when he went pro.
-
Haha, I thought maybe it was a joke about hockey player articulacy :)
-
I was looking for that info last week, I dug up somewhere on here that, summary: the Mission skate bake oven was set to 175-degrees Fahrenheit or roughly 80-degrees Celsius, convection (hot air), which makes the oven's temperature uniform inside.

Another Panther, Brandon Pirri.
-
I agree, it's always a bit odd looking at your gear after playing and seeing where you get nicked up.
-
Did you get sliced by a skate up there? It looks like the leather and stitching got cut.
-
Mark Stuart says his are built in (one or both of the videos previously in the thread) It doesn't appear to make the skate look that different. Thinking the shot blockers are literally built in, hidden underneath the otherwise normal surface of the boot.

I see where the most are coming from...probably why the same are swimming in Bauer. From my perspective, I guess I do like my tiny bubbles and imperfections.
-
If VH gets successful enough with this to expand their operation and include a final glue-scrape quality check, I'll be sad if I can't afford a pair before that happens. There's something of a relic aura to that glue left on the boot: evidence that SVH was here.

What's the sizing like, compared to your Bauer Supremes? I'm around a 44-45 european size shoe usually, and I'm wondering where that would roughly land on Micron's size chart. I've been looking for a pair of Air 90's for a long time, but it's tough to know what to go all in for on eBay without really knowing how they might fit. Love the review of the old skate. Can't wait to hear more.

Saw one site saying 800g for 9D skate, even.

Don't worry, NASA's made worse mistakes. It seems like you're implying that custom skates won't work for you, no matter who's doing the customizing. It's unfortunate you had that bad previous experience, but just because you had bad spaghetti at one place doesn't mean spaghetti's bad all across the universe.

5cm should be more than half a size, it's about 2", you mean 5mm?
-
I noticed Kulikov's new VH have the logo on them, a sign of gaining momentum?
-
There's also a second tier Mako skate coming out next year, in case you want a slightly less sportbike model.
-
Yeah, well, it's just "Old Boys" pickup, so it's the only time most of these guys get on the ice anymore, and it's only once a week. It gets kind of ugly and embarrassing when the last point's on the line, not so much so that it's not fun anymore though. It's not pickup like shinny with just skates and sticks.
-
Looks sweet. At our pickup, there's always some fighting over what the score actually is. But I only sort of understand because I still suck at Danish. "Soo, fem!" Ok, let's get on with it...

Now that longtime Amp Fly wearer Brian Rafalski is making a comeback, is there any chance he'll be in Alkali boots?

You could just stitch an extension onto the existing tongue.

No, sorry, he's a player agent. I don't know of a full list of whom he represents, but I've seen him cited as the agent for Yakupov and Galchenyuk.

I have a feeling it's going to change more frequently now, with at least one non-Jet wearing them. Panthers Kulikov Jets Byfuglien Ladd Scheifele Wheeler Stuart Clitsome Trouba Retired/Agent Larionov

2014 Easton Hockey Catalogue
flip12 replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2014 Product Catalogue Reviews
I wish they would make the Mako M3 glove in a high-spec version, with solid protection and losing the highlight patterning in the skin over the various breaks. It looks a lot like the gloves Zhitnik and Kovalev had in the early 2000's. -
To each, his or her own. I like the logo a lot. It makes more sense for speed skating, but the oval also applies pretty well to a hockey. I like the bling, but it's also understated. I don't like the graphics packages used by Bauer and the rest of the industry, but I can see why that's a popular way to go, especially given the aesthetic that will maximize common appeal for the audience. If I understand what you mean by unfinished, they are handmade, so construction details can be a bit more noticeable, as would be expected; though again, that's not for everyone to like or accept. I still think the bling is just the right measure, and makes me think more of Chanel than cheap, whereas Bauer and the rest all look silly and intentionally unresolved.

I agree. They remind me of the Air 90's (as did the MLX) and old Graf with their embossed decals on simple black boots.
