  1. Carbon, yes, portofino and stiffer nylons, no.
  2. Nash left hand, micro/digital right?
  3. Damn, I'd love a set of gloves that my hands would actually swim in. 15" Bauer 4-rolls come close, but damn.
  4. Ya know...just because someone posts a picture of their gloves...it doesn't mean you have to offer to buy them. They aren't abused dogs looking for new homes. Most of the vehicles sold at car shows never have "For Sale" in the window... just sayin'.
  5. I gotcha, in all reality if it was slim pickings then I got nothing even if he thought I would want those. Here's hoping for someone else at a different sale!
  6. The Caps logo ones were $60. It was just the RBK ones made by MIA that were $45, so if you were looking for a different brand, they would be $60. Just in the interest of full disclosure I actually asked him to get me some Vapors, but MIA/Warrior was on my list of alternates. Thanks for the info. Actually haven't heard from him yet, but he's been online a few times today.
  7. Here's hoping Saba came through for me! $45 for those is a steal.
  8. "Southwest" Detroit is still a pretty large area. Are you talking city proper, Dearborn, Romulus....?
  9. That's a shame, but maybe try and not blame it on Mexicans unless you know who stole it. Being Detroit I wouldn't jump to Mexicans besides... What was it before it became an insurance check?
  10. I can do you one better; City snow plow dumped on my car from the deck above. Obliterated the sunroof, blew a roof beam, turned the aluminum roof into a dented mess, dumped snow and glass everywhere inside, cracked the windshield and popped it off the mount, dented the hood. $5800. Damn was I happy I had a $500 deductible on comprehensive. At least you could drive your car.
  11. english, do you have a profile cut into the steel for more forward lean on your Cobras? I tried a custom profile and wish I had gone for physical lifts for the number of times it's been sharpened out.
  12. I'm not a fan of them. My friend has a shaft and I couldn't stand the shape and finish of the shaft, it felt too small and plasticy. I've been looking for a deal on Vapor or 4-roll gloves in those colors for a while though.
  13. Nice floors, and I love that color on the mitts. I wish my XXs were Red/White/Blue.
  14. Looks more straight Drury to me, he's got the shaft opened a bit in the pic. I don't know if I'm crazy, but i was looking at the new stock of Easton sticks at my LHS and the Drury looked like it had a bit of a toe hook to it, rather than just the general heel wedge. I was shocked.
  15. And that a big-box online retailer with physical retail outlets would be the sole carrier as it was added to the booking after most retailers put in orders.
  16. Shop around on that one... I had one ford dealer in the northern twin cities quote me $160 and another ford dealer in the south metro did it for around $60 Don't buy a Volvo. I think mine are $250 a piece, good thing the car came with 3.
  17. You can often find the remotes on ebay and there should be instructions on the internet somewhere. Usually it's something like turning the key in the ignition a couple times, dancing around the car under a full moon and sacrificing a chicken. Depends on the car. If it has anything special like an immobilizer or factory security, dealer may be only option. My car's fob broke and fell in the snow somewhere and I've just been using the key ever since (remotes are $10 on eBay, $100 to program at the stealer).
  18. The one I've got is a short-bladed heel hook.
  19. It wasn't just the behavior at the pedal. Call me crazy, but I adhere to the turbo stipulations about warmup and cool down times pretty stringently. Start the car, let it sit a minute and drive it like gramps until the temp gauge pops up into the warm section, let the car sit for a minute after having the car on the highway for more than 30 minutes or after driving hard around town where I'm red-lining it a bunch. Call me crazy or overprotective or whatever, but just the fear of running a cold turbo gets me to slow down. Plus my car shifts like piss and holds gears too high in the rev-range when I drive normally and it's cold.
  20. No. My Volvo was $8k and it was a 2001. I was looking through listings and found some deals hovering around $15k for '02 or '03 models with less than 60k miles. I figure $10k cash with at least $5k trade-in. My heart's not set on an Audi, but after driving a $40k euro wagon, I don't think a Taurus is in my immediate future. I found a great deal on a great looking CTS as well, but I'm just more drawn to wagons.
  21. kk2- You'd be surprised what people who know what they're doing can do with forced intake systems to get the torque curve to flatten nicely. Most of my beef is with the Volvo setup anyway. The boost doesn't kick in until upwards of 2500 revs and the throttle tip-in is so horrible I have to use the accelerator in the parking lot to inch along. Idling won't move the car unless I'm on a hill. Spreedizzle- I'm going used and probably going for something just north of $10k. I need to see how much I can get for trade-in on my Volvo though.
  22. I seek out cane sugar soft drinks. A lot of micro-brew rootbeer, Jones Soda, etc. Anyway, on cars. I'm going to start looking to replace my XC70 with something a little less safety and a little more sporty. I was thinking an A6 quattro avant since allroads are hard to find and stick to natural aspiration. My stint with turbochargers will probably be over unless I find one with really nice low-band torque and good throttle response.
  23. The government subsidizes gas prices for the public in all of those countries with absurdly low prices. Plus they use a higher ethanol blend with homegrown crops. E85 came from latin and south american countries that can make it cheaper than water.
