    Probably about the thickness of a lower level skate felt tongue to add volume right at ankle bone and above. Maybe the same thickness as the stock Hyperlite tongues even though I recognize they are not felt. I have stock Hyperlite tongues and the last 2 or 3 eyelets wrap around the ankle too much.

    No not really, just need some medium or thin layer of felt to glue or stitch into the back of the upper tongue to add some volume right about the ankle bone.

    Searched but could not find. Looking for some help finding someone who sells a piece or layer of felt for skate tongues. I previously ordered some felt to line the inside of my tongues with, and it was a shop I think in the Midwest or Minnesota area? Unfortunately I can’t remember what shop it was but I think I found them through Modsquad? Any help would be appreciated, I remember the guy offering different thickness felts and offered to skive the edges of the felt for a smooth transition. I only need some extra felt for the top 3 eyelets of my skates. Felt or else something for the thin Hyperlite skate tongues to increase volume on the last 3 eyelets.

    I got my VH skates with the new toe cap about a month ago with the stock tongues. The tongue keeps falling to the outside a bit no matter how I adjust the tongue. Also sometimes I get a bit of bite when I tighten the last two eyelets too much. I know I can keep the laces a bit looser, but I like them tight. For those that have the enhanced metatarsal guard in the tongue, did you also get a thicker tongue? Should I get a wider tongue than stock to prevent the tongue from rolling to the outside?

    Davetronz, I clamped the whole heel with 3 clamps trying to get the heel and tendon area smaller. Just would not get small enough, and made indentation into carbon fiber leading so hot spots around ankle. After using clamps, I'm not sure how it would work without leaving bumps where the clamps were used, that would be felt once cooled? I'll have to edit my scans and post once I have a chance. I think the heel pocket area needs to be a bit snug or small in order to form around ankle. Especially if you have a small ankle like me. VH has been very responsive and I'm hoping the next set fit better.

    I used paint to do a foot print and a tracing more or less straight down from the widest part of the foot. I have very narrow heel. The foot print of the skate seemed good, but the volume of the heel pocket was too big. I think it would be easier to get a good fit with a wider foot with more volume. My foot is bony and narrow, so I need the skate to go in more matching my foot indentations.

    Got mine Friday, but unfortunately the heel pocket is too big. Baked skate twice but couldn't get the smaller fit I need. VH was very responsive and sent skates back to be remade. Praying next pair fit correctly.

    You sound like me, I ordered a player skate but same options as you. Just ordered a couple days ago. I went ahead and used acrylic black paint to stamp my footprint, then did a tracing.

    Sent my tracings and measurements. Excited to see how these come out, hope they fit as well as described. I'm a little freaked out about the new toe cap design, but the consensus seems well received.

    Did you make any custom changes unique for yourself? Anyone have "must do" recommendations based on their previous experiences? Wondering if the bottom, side piece of leather on the middle/ bottom of the boot, could use a row of stitching.

    I went level 1 stiffness also, and I am very happy thus far. I really don't see how this skate would feel any better if it was stiffer?

    Intersting? Taking the insole out, the sole is white and I can see where it is black underneath from the hole in the heel. I have extra padding in liner and longer 272mm tuuk. Weighed in at 499 grams or 1.10 lbs on a size 7 skate.

    Just got my custom ordered BAAA APX skates. Everything is great and as ordered except, for a totalone outsole on bottom of skates? This was not specifically ordered this way? Anyone know why the would put the black and yellow outsoles on these skates? Was thinking maybe they ran out of APX soles when completing my order? Anyone have an idea? Thanks

    In my case its a matter of going with a D toe cup or C toe cup to go with my custom ordered B forefoot. We are going back and forth on which toe cap to get. That's when Bauer offer that the skate could be relasted if wrong fit. So I'm guessing that means they would change toe caps and relast?

    I spoke with someone a Bauer who said if custom skate order does not fit right, skate can be sent back and re-lasted? What is re-lasting exactly?
