2016 CCM QuickLite Protective
JR Boucicaut replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in 2016 Product Catalogue Reviews
Here are some stock photos courtesy of CCM. -
We will be posting CCM's catalogue in sections this year to comply with their lockdown dates. Once complete, we will post the entire catalogue and merge the topics. First off will be their QuickLite line. Gloves - CCM has updated their tapered glove option for 2016 with the QuickLite line. With a open cuff for range of motion, it also has pro level zote foam with PE inserts for protection. Clarino palm, which is reinforced. The QL290 glove goes with HD/PE foam for protection, with a nash palm (with reinforcements in high wear areas) and an open flexible cuff. Pants - The QuickLite pant is a tapered fit, and features their new Dryfoam technology. Dryfoam is a closed cell foam that simply absorbs less sweat, resulting in a drier and lighter package. On the QLT pant, it's a pro nylon however the back is a breathable polyester. The sides of the pants are reinforced. There is the 1" extension that hides under the pant belt, and a segmented HD spine protector. Protective - On the shoulder pads, the construction of the pad is Dryfoam, however the caps are U-Foam. In the torso, however, Ventshield is new for 2016. It's a plastic that is extremely vented and also very lightweight. The sternum package is Zotefoam. Shinguards have been completely redesigned with a new shell. The caps are vented, as well as the shin cap, and comes with a Dryfoam liner. Ventshield and HD foam in the calf for further breathability. The elbow pad continues with a 3-piece design, and is mainly comprised of Dryfoam. The elbow cap is actually redesigned. There is Zotefoam in the bicep and forearm (the bicep has a Ventshield piece) and the forearm has been extended.

Sticks - The Rekker line has been updated for 2016, starting with the EK60. Still advertised as the lightest stick on the market, the addition of Graphene in key areas helps it to be more durable as well as redistributing the weight of the stick, making it better balanced. The EK60 comes in at $199 USD. The EK50 comes in at $159, EK40 at $109 and the EK20 at $69. The T120 line is unchanged from last year. One thing to note is their new PlayRite stick feature. In order to match kids to the right length and flex, there are 4 sizes in the PlayRite system (which is offered on EK60, EK50, EK20 and T87.) The 0 is a 40" 20 flex youth stick. 1 is 44" and 25 flex. 2 is 48" and 35 flex, and 3 is a full 52" 45 flex stick. On the wood side, the HOF line has a new look (well, old-school look) for the 5030 and the 5030 goal and 9950 goal sticks. Gloves - Brand new line for Sher-Wood; they recently hired Michel Paul (formerly the founder of MIA) so they do have a well-known name in hockey circles behind the product. The BPM line features a pro look and have a very good feel out of the box. The BPM 120 glove is a 4-roll glove (3 of the rolls are split at an angle.) Knit outer, Clarino palm. The 120 also comes in an S variant, which has a molded shotblocker that covers the bottom two rolls of the glove. There are more color ways offered through the booking program, plus, they do custom gloves. The gloves are $150 retail.

Catalogue Review 2016 True Hockey Catalogue
JR Boucicaut posted a topic in 2016 Product Catalogue Reviews
http://modsquadhockey.com/forums/index.php/files/file/196-2016-true-hockey-catalogue/ Sticks - True has updated their A-Series line for 2016. While the majority of the features from the previous line carry over into the new line, the difference is what has been done to the blade. Their Braided Rib Technology consists of two braided carbon fiber tubes that run the length of the blade. One is in the center of the blade, and the second one is below, in between the center tube and the bottom of the blade. It being a braided tube also means that the fibers are continuous, helping to prevent cracks. This blade has been added to each of the A-Series sticks for 2016. This has resulted in a 50% stronger blade than last year's A-Series AB II blade. The A6.0 SBP (strength/balance/power) comes in at 400g at senior and in 6 patterns. Matte grip finish with a double-concave squared-corner shaft dimension. The 5.2 SBP also features a BRT blade. That one is coming in at 420g, 6 patterns. And even yet, the 4.5 SBT is what True is calling their "team" stick - typically what is the price point right above top end from most competitors. BRT blade, 6 patterns, coming in at 445g. The 2.2 comes in at 490g under $100. 3 patterns, 2 flexes. The 6.0 SBP also comes in shaft and blade form; both standard and tapered offerings. Xcore carries over from 2015. Gloves - True has two glove families for 2016 - The X series, which is an anatomical fit, and the A series, which is a classic 4 roll glove. The top end gloves share the same technologies - EPP protection with PE inserts on top, nylon and their Trueflex lock thumb. However, the story is the palm. Both the A 6.0 SBP and the XC9 have a removable palm. The way the Z Palm works is that there is a continuous zipper that starts at the base of where the palm meets the back cuff and continues along the outer of the gusset. The zipper is on the top part of the gusset so it isn't felt when the glove is on your hand. The top of the zipper is bound so that once the zipper is done, the teeth are tucked underneath. The Z Palm comes with 5 different options - standard, which is 1mm Clarino with an .6 overlay. The Z Pro is .6 Clarino, which makes for a very thin palm. The Z-Grip is .75 AX Suede with a .5 grip overlay and has a grip print in the index and middle fingers. The Z-Fit is .6 Torray with a .6 overlay, making it a flexier palm. The Z-Power is 1mm Clarino and a 1mm overlay, with a .6 overlay on the index and middle fingers. The neat thing about this is that all of the palms are interchangeable. For instance, on custom gloves that I have made in the past, I always go for the thinnest possible, but typically go with an overlaid palm on my top hand. This would be possible with these gloves without going with a custom order. The 4.5 glove and XC7 glove are slightly down spec'd - no Z-Palm and the EPP foams are 4mm smaller than the top-end glove. -

VH Footwear/TRUE by Scott Van Horne
JR Boucicaut replied to dsjunior1388's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
I don't claim to know anything about the situation, other than they wanted us to rush ship them a pair of LEs for him, but I had to explain to them that Columbus is an one-day ship from MI so Air wasn't needed. Not every NHLer gets custom skates. There is a stock "pro" skate that teams can get - with the Supreme, it's a MX3 with a standard tongue, LS3 steel and a fixed tendon guard, that's made alongside retail skates. The LE is a situation in which it's a retail thing, and they have guys like Kane in it to carry that skate to translate to retail sales. -

I don't claim to know the reasoning behind it but I do know that one of those pair came from my store as we shipped them to Columbus. They were 1X LE - could very well just wanted the black look, which isn't a standard offering. -
It's definitely that. That oven is the exact same oven than Bauer, Graf and CCM use - the manufacturer just puts different logos on it.
-
Interesting. Was never told there was such an oven, nor was told 6 minutes. The skate originally started out with 15 minutes at 200º but they then changed down to 10 minutes. Unless that Easton oven ran at 180º...
-
Easton never made an oven.
-
It's not a rumor. It's fact. Those aforementioned managers who didn't know about it were guys who are at the converted Players Bench stores, and seem to still be struggling with our procedures.

Blackstone Flat-Bottom V Thread
JR Boucicaut replied to JR Boucicaut's topic in Ice Hockey Equipment
Blackstone is running a special on the X01 - for $699. We're awaiting artwork to update their banner ad, but figured it'd be beneficial to post this first. -
I put these together yesterday. Not sure if I'm really feeling the chest piece. I'll add suspender buttons to my pant shell to keep them in place.
-
You will be pleasantly surprised at the curve options that will be available... yes.
-
The sticks are QR1 and are what the sticks will look like once their customizer is live. You can pick the paint pattern from a full paint job to a fade from the heel up or a fade from the taper up.
