USA hockey referee is all I am, worked for me.
-
I got them from The Skater's Edge in Greensboro, NC. It is operated by a former NHL equipment manager. About the pricing, I can't be too specific because this shop mainly sells to professional teams (SPHL, ECHL, juniors) and the pricing is different for team sales... If you're a referee and are looking for a pair, Bauer and RBK are offering significant discounts with your referee card at the moment. Without the discount though, the skate was still a couple hundred cheaper than the TotalOne MSRP. I could've done without the yellow lettering and such on the heel as well, but I guess the point is for the uneducated hockey fan to see these skates from the 2nd row and go out later and buy himself some TotalOnes to play in

I'm going to put the Pro-tec-toe stuff on these. It's been so long since I used any, my can was dried up so I have to order some. As a referee I don't do a lot of work with my toes on the boards, so I don't expect a ton of wear there, my previous skates don't show much wear on the toes.

It took 3 weeks from ordering to delivery.

New skates, ClassicOnes. They are built off the 8090 instead of the T1 (my LHS told me wrong), but they are without doubt the best fitting skates I've ever owned. Custom sizing, vented outsole, taller LS3 steel, TotalOne tongue with black felt, +1", also some added volume and modified lacing pattern on the top 4 eyelets. They moved the top few outlets away about 1/4" from the ankle so I could get the correct forward flex. Plain white laces finish the deal. These look the way a hockey skate should look.
-
Do the T1 Classic's have the same Alive composite and whatnot under the outside fabric as the TotalOne? I just ordered a pair based upon how much I like the TotalOne, since I needed customs anyway for my feet. I'm assuming it's just the TotalOne with some fabric on the outside essentially? Just wondering.

NBH Vapor XXV skate Reviewer background: 5' 8", 150 lbs, 7.5D, right wing, on ice three times a week, experienced skater Fit: I have skated in Z-air and Tacks, and neither fit at all. This skate fits me nicely, I have a narrow heel and a somewhat wide forefoot. These skates lock your heels in amazingly. After baking, they conformed to my feet perfectly. Toe caps on these skates are a bit narrow and can pinch one's toes at times. They are a bit too narrow for me in the forefoot region, but it's not too bad that I can't handle it. Just getting in a somewhat properly fitted skate has done wonders for my performance. 9/10 Blade/Holder: The LS2 steel doesn't hold an edge very well. Tons of nicks and burrs all the time, they look like I've been walking on asphalt with them on. I have to get them sharpened much more frequently than the Eastons i came from. The holders feel fine when skating but they are really spongy when playing the puck with my feet. 6/10 Weight/Protection: These skates are essentially the XXXX with a smaller price tag. I saw no difference in protection between the two models, and both are very light. I prefer the thick felt tongue of the XXV to the one in the XXXX. These skates are a bit lacking in the protection department, hard shots off the ankles sting. The tendon guards are the most protective I've ever used though, they are very stiff. I cant give much insight into the stiffness of the boot, because I don't weigh enough to flex many boots on the market. 7/10 Durability: I have skated in these for 5 months and they have retained their stiffness nicely. Stayed solid so far, No bad cuts or bruises on them, no broken steel, so i guess I'm doing pretty good so far. I am completely satisfied with this aspect of the skate. 9/10 Intangibles: The standard laces killed my fingers. Ugly red trim on the boot that i had to color over with a silver sharpie. 7/10 Conclusion: This is a good skate for those that fit properly in a Vapor, but are not willing to pay the pricetag to get the XXXX. They are essentially the same boot and holder minus a few extra features. These skates have improved my performance greatly, and are very durable. Worth the money! FINAL: 8/10

hmm you guys are right.. silly equipment freaks :D ive been looking at rangers pics this morning and haven't seen any gloves yet that didn't have white cuffs like you say. oh well it doesn't matter to me, they're still great gloves.
-
i'm not sure how old they are. (they just say bauer, not nike/bauer) i got them off ebay a year ago for $220. i needed red/white/blue gloves for my team and i wanted the vapor xxx. The auction said new york rangers, and they definitely are not retail, as they have the thickest palms i have ever used. the palms feel to be .7 to .8 mm thick, much thicker than retail nbh i've tried on.
