Getting divorced, figured I would do something nice for myself. Been driving two 4runners since 1997... Not a fan of the black rims, they'll probably end up being my track rims. I am obsessed with the other Carrera S rims, probably will pick those up in a few months. I thought transporting hockey gear might be an issue, it's no problem at all.

I am not very familiar with Warrior gloves, but they appear to be a pair of Franchise. Yes, they are prostock. Brian, You are correct, I got them from Jake. With regards to the vintage gear he obtained from the Kings, I think he has a couple CCM helmets, some shells, some Reebok lowers (these are really nice, but were not cheap...) I believe he as a couple pairs of Easton gloves, as well as a pair of Eagle X-something or other. I didn't see any other Warrior gloves when I was there... Here's a pic of the lowers.

Just picked these up, brand new. I am guessing they are Westgarth's due to their size...

Got the ok to start skating today after a hamstring injury I suffered 6 weeks ago. Hopefully I will be able to sneak away from my office and go to a local public session today that is dead...

Probably wont be playing hockey for a few weeks due to a foot injury from blocking a slapshot. Had an employee pass away several days ago. We shared an office together. 24 years old. Was taking a prescribed drug like Paxil/Prozac and apparently mixed it with a couple beers and valium. Was never informed that the funeral was today. Can't go because of other things. Also found out today that our controller was embezzling money from us and writing checks to pay for his cable, child daycare, health insurance, etc. The new person cutting checks conveniently forgot that I should be receiving 2 paychecks today instead of one. Oh well, the work day is almost over. All I have left is to step in my warehouse and find the biggest box we have so that I can bring my Akita's body to the vet after she gets put to sleep on Sunday morning at my house. :(

No label, but I would say at least 15.5. They feel much bigger than the Eagle PPF+ I used to have, or the other prostock gloves I have from larger guys (like Brian Boyle, for example...)

I bought these a while ago thinking they might fit, but the guy is a pituitary giant, I am swimming in these! Not sure about the type of palm (digital, maybe?) but they are extremely soft and supple. Another interesting thing about these is that there are plastic inserts where your fingertips are. I haven't seen that before, although it's not like I have come across a lot of prostock gloves in my time...

The entire gloves are purple, the binding is just a lighter shade.

Some of my mitts.

For you folks in SoCal. I was informed that FBV sharpenings are available in Anaheim at USA Skates 411 West Broadway. Glacial Gardens in Lakewood might have it as well, not sure though. Looking forward to going there when I get a little free time, can't wait to finally try it out.

$150

Went back to the Kings Equipment sale today, picked up a couple more things. Jr. Kings were going to use these socks, but passed. Also picked up some brand new Mission fuels for $50 as well as some used X60s.

Picked up some goodies last week. Stoll gloves were given to me, I just need to find a way to remove the autograph. I am guessing a black sharpie will do the trick... Doughty S19s on the outside, Bauer P14 in the middle Both pairs of gloves have mesh gussets, I am def. a fan. Closer look at Doughty's palm. I am guessing this is some sort of nash with digital overlay?

Overpaid, but I had to have it. (My mom is French, I spent a lot of my childhood there.)

Got a deal on an Itech titanium cage: $40 + tax and a preview of a few sticks hopefully being held for me...

BAUER ONE90 SHIN GUARDS Time used: 10 months Reviewer: Defenseman. 6 feet, 3.5 inches - 212 lbs. Fit These guards fit very nicely. I do not like my shins to slide around, and I don't like being forced to use tape to keep them snug. These remain nice and snug from the two straps on the back of the pad. They are a bit on the slim side, but not so narrow that you can't have them on the outside of the skate tongue, if you are like me...10/10 Protection Here is where the pads fail in a major way. The inside of the knee cap has some hard plastic, honeycomb looking thing. I don't know if this was supposed to protect your knees, but it hurts like hell if you happen to land squarely on it. In fact, I have bruised my knee caps because of this hard plastic, and ended up with bruises with the honeycomb outline. I actually went out of my way to find another pair as I thought mine were missing something to cover the knee area and the honeycomb "cushion." I have taken quite a few slappers of the knees, these seem to perform fine in that regard. However, I have to rate these real low due to the simple fact that I have fallen on my knees and been hurt from the honeycomb cushioning that's supposed to protect.4/10 Weight I don't really care about weight, these seems to be fine though. Not too heavy, not too light. 8.5/10 Durability My left shin cracked within 1 year of moderate use. I play in a beginner to intermediate beerleague, most of the slappers don't have much heat behind them. I cannot even determine what cracked it. I know it occurred in a league game, but I do not remember taking any slappers off my shins, therefore it must have happened when I lost an edge and went down on my knee.4/10 Intangibles One thing I like about these are the straps. The top strap is real cushioned and stretchy,as opposed to a basic, no-frills nylon strap with velcro on it. I am probably going to remove the straps and use them in my new shins that are replacing these (Reebok 10K.) . Another thing I liked about these is the inner lining. It removes easily with velcro and seems solid. I have had other shin pads were the inner lining would start to roll inward and deform. This lining kept its shape, and does fine in the washing machine. Conclusion When it comes to gear, my philosophy is simple: The best gear is the stuff you never think about. That was the case most of the time, except when I would go down on my knees and have a honeycomb tattoo for a few days afterwards... These shin pads have let me down. At the level I play, I don't think it would be unreasonable to expect them to last a bit longer. Overall: 6.5/10

I keep hoping to one day see a SoCal store that offers this. I guess if I want FBV I am going to have to learn how to remove my steel and mail it out, or loosen up the purse strings and buy a machine. Most likely I will go with option #2 once I learn how to sharpen skates and feel comfortable doing so...

Custom Skates / Ice to Inline Conversion
Jeff replied to cougarscaptain87's topic in Roller Hockey Equipment
@ skooled Thanks, I like them. I was basically limited to what the store had (that Mission chassis and that specific wheel) but it works for letting my pit bull drag me around Hollyweird. I don't remember wheels wearing out so quickly from my old Rollerblade Lightning/Macroblade days... I was even going to put soft wheels on until my buddy at the LHS told me I would literally be flushing money down the toilet. @fatwabbit: The boots are L 10 C/AAA, R 9/AAA with +1 in the upper. I don;t really know anything about the frame used... @Aussie Joe: Thanks, although it was a little unintended... I bought my wife a camera + lens for Christmas, and was just goofing around with different apertures, etc.- 2845 replies

Some gloves from a pal at Easton. I believe they were destined for a college club that ended up cancelling an order. I feel as though I have been spoiled after wearing custom Eagles, but these actually feel pretty good. Prostock Warriors (Brian Boyle) I picked up from the Kings sale a while back. They were cheap, maybe $30.00 or so. These are not very protective at all. I have taken a couple slashes with them that left me craving a little more protection.

I own a credit card processing company, so I feel the need to comment here... raganblink, you should not be charged twice, i.e. for a sale as well as a return. In fact, since it is a return, you should only be charged a transaction/auth fee, not an Interchange/wholesale card fee. Meaning,if your auth and transaction fees total $0.20 per transaction, you would be charged $.20 for the original sale, and then a similar amount on the return. Do you own the business and check your statements, or are you just assuming that you are being charged a % for the sale as well as the credit? Are you seeing the charge on one statement, and the return on the next statement? The only way I can see this happening is if your processor is doing some shady billing on gross versus net charges. Also, when it comes to tiny charges, Visa and Mastercard have a special wholesale rate for transactions under $15.00. The wholesale cost is only $0.04 versus the usual $0.10 to $0.15 (plus Interchange fees....) . Meaning if someone buys a roll of tape for $5.00, you should be charged $0.04 plus around $0.10 for trans/auth fees plus the 1-2% Interchange wholesale cost. (Bringing you to a grand total of around $0.20-$0.24 for the $5.00 charge.) Clear as mud? :) Let me know if you have any questions. It would suck to be charging restocking fees and possibly losing repeat business if you are not being doublecharged. I actually had to explain this to another LHS client of mine who did not really understand it until we broke down every line on the last page of his statement.

I beat up a little kid and stole it during the 3-stars presentation. :P I actually got it at Team L.A. in the Staples Center at the end of the Lightning game. I saw two of them before the game started, but balked at the price. Later in the game, the little red zamboni won 25% off for my level, and I remembered I had a Team L.A. credit in my wallet as well. The Harrold stick was a good deal, I couldn't pass up a barely used S17 for $60.

Pic of most of my twigs. I have a couple new chrome XN10s and Zbubbles at my office... Hehe, gotta love the secret stash at the office... Just picked up the Doughty game-used and Harrold S17 a couple days ago.

My customs are finally ready! Left skate 10.0 C/AA, Right skate 9.5C/AA . Retail stiffness, one size up in the upper. I also added that memory foam stuff on the inside of the skates (not sure of the real name).
