Those Nike Ignite shafts (comparable to Easton Ultra Lite) and blade! AH! I wish I would have bought more back in 04 (I got 1 lone Ignite 2R for like $80) when they went clearance on Great Skate. Been on the hunt since then..but haven't come across any. Very nice!

Damn. Since 2005..I've been looking everywhere for Nike wood blades..in a RH. I knew I should have just bought a TON back in high school when they were available. I actually found 2 of my old wood pro return blades that have held up..one's my favorite curve..ever..a Shanahan clone (after some tweaking) complete w/square toe..and the other is more identical to a Modano. Excited to try both out again..I may just do away w/the Warrior Gionta blade I have in my AK27..love the curve..hate the lie. THIS is amazing! Where'd you get your hands on this?? Mighty Ducks got me into hockey back when I was about 7.

HELLA CURVE. Damn! I had a handful of $5 blades from Peranis (Easton pro stock wood as well as Louisville TPS pro stock)..do they still have them? I'd be interested in ordering more.

Speaking of retro..since I was younger I've wanted the classic Supreme Custom skates w/black holder ie: Joe Sakic. Found a handful on eBay between $40-80 in my size range 7-8.5. Real tempted to pull the plug! Funny how..a top of the line skate..from almost 15 yrs ago..that was SUPER expensive..is now only double digit prices on eBay instead of breaking the bank at $400+. May be a while for the Vapors-one90/total one to hit those prices..but hey..I wouldn't mind getting a pair in 10 years for super cheap.

@cheeseplz Those red/white/black Eagles =D Nice! That cuff looks awfully small though.. not afraid of slashes? With the way people play these days.. or have always played.. I'd be extra scared to wear gloves with that short of a cuff.. hopefully you wear slash guards? Nice roller/ice set up! But I've always wondered.. is it weird for you to transition from the Bauers to the Mission (or vice versa)? That always tripped me out when I went from my Nike or Bauer skates during the winter to my Mission skates in the summers during roller hockey. Never had the $$ to get 2 pairs of Nike/Bauers though.. so I always had Mission roller hockey skates. ..now.. I'm trying my hardest to find another pair of Nike Flexlite 12s (in a 7.5 or 8) so I have one pair for ice and another for roller. Haven't had much luck quite yet! I seriously couldn't use that much of a curve. Damn! I'm used to a Shannahan type curve.. Spezza's curve reminds me of my old Mylec street hockey stick I had back when I was 10.. lol the blade melted a bit in the garage and I remember it getting ran over..the curve looked much like that Spezza.. I used to rocket launch hockey balls/street pucks over my roof with that curve!

yeah.. but think about it.. if the RBK logo was backwards on their gloves or products.. wouldn't that look OFF? nike's shoes are all right.. why couldnt they do that with their older gloves? check the tongue on these nikes. the swooshes face the same direction.. the nike words.. go the same direction.. etc. that's what i mean.. don't you thnk the gloves themselves would be aesthetically more appealing if the swooshes were the same way? maybe i'm just super picky. but i guess the swoosh logo and the RBK logo are the only logos.. where it matters what direction the logos face. i'm done though. lol sorry.
-
great gloves! but i'll never ever understand why nike decided to do that to the swoosh. the right glove (in the picture its on the left) is the correct direction the swoosh normally goes and the other one.. is off. plus check out the last name.. that's off too. were the people assigned to making these gloves, blind?!
-
i always always wanted these skates.. great pickup! if i can get my hands on a size 8.. i'll be all over it!
-
not wearing shin guards or are they just smaller than normal? even for a pickup game/adult hockey/shinny i wouldn't risk not wearing them. hopefully my eyes are just deceiving me. haha great set up though! how do you like that christian blade? i've always wanted to try them out but i could never find a curve i wanted without having to order them online.
-
hm. that's super super tempting.. i do need new shin pads.. and i definitely don't want to spend TONS of money on them.. considering i'll just be using them for pickup n beer league..
-
hehateme: so you only have 7 guys total? meaning.. 5 + goalie play on the floor.. then 2 sit and rest? that's insane. i remember having to do that during pickup roller hockey games and i'd literally play maybe 15 minutes straight without getting a breather. how tough is it to play on a smaller team? great jerseys and uniform setup though! (i think i would have done the Detroit D using that to spell out Danglers angling down like the Rangers have their lettering.. then have the detroit D on the shoulder, but sick nonetheless.

that's actually the neighbor across the street.. not my house. my car.. but not my house.

the wolves mainly use black equipment except their jerseys and helmets, i think? i know their main colors are dark red/golden yellow and white. well rockford vs. chicago for the west division final for the next couple weeks.. so we'll see who comes out on top and has their equipment sale first. haha the majority of the AHL uses RBK/CCM everything.. besides sticks and skates.. correct? i just wanna get my hands on some cheap but quality equipment.
-
shit. if i can get my hands on used one90s in a size 8 or 8.5 for $50, i'd be all over it. i really wish Rockford Icehogs (that's my hometown) had a year end equipment sale.. but i don't think they do. not even sure if the Chicago Blackhawks do either.. all their sticks that aren't used end up at the HawkQuarters downtown on Michigan Avenue, but they're always lefties (Warrior Dolos, RBK Sick Kicks, CCM Vectors, etc. and random old non used wood blades).. ugh.

95 e36 325is coupe.
-
shoulda kept the laces white.. why doesn't your team have stripe socks? it would make the unis together better. overall..good look. i'd just change the socks and the laces. sick uniforms! but what's up with the two different colored socks? lol so in house league.
-
i know sherwood makes the lightest wood sticks. but in my personal experiences.. i used wood all the way up until about 2001ish. i used everything from brands like Canadien and Montreal to Franklin to Koho to CCM. my fave was Koho.. i wish i got to use a sherwood, never found a decent retail curve that i liked. Franklin was by far the heaviest, i've used, some of the Bauers i've used too are pretty damn heavy. After using a Franklin wood stick, any stick after that was super light.

sick jersey! transformers?

nice adaptation on the Rockford Icehogs (AHL Chicago Blackhawks affiliate) logo. i'm from Rockford but live in Chicago now.

the blade is a random louisville pro return woodie that i got back around 2002. it's actually still in the nike ignite 2 shaft (in that pic).. haha its in pretty decent condition.. yeah its crazy square toe, like the old school easton shanahan curves. it was pretty straight except for a little mid curve, but i added a little more curve to it. it didn't have a name on it (stamped black name on a black blade, so i couldn't make it out). i got that louisville pro return and 2 easton pro return woodies as well. i painted them all black though. never got to use the 2 easton woodies (one's an arnott, but it didn't even compare to his curves on his synergies he uses.. so i'm assuming that's why it's a 'pro return' and the other one is like a retail modano with a little more toe curve). i still have the other 2 easton blades, never been used. i always used wooden sticks up until 02 and then got the ignite shaft for cheap on hockeymonkey/hockeygiant, but stupidly only got one (b/c i still had a handful of random wood sticks).. should have stocked up on them. i think i'm using old school easton air (or xtreme) pads underneath. the pants are actually ccm supra. i got ignite gloves, the nike fedorovs, and the pants from a friend of my dad's who used to play beer league with some retired NHLers (cant remember for the life of me who though.) in the chicago suburbs. i still have all this stuff and i'll probably use it. haha i just need new shinnys and a helmet.

super old school pic circa 2002 (sophomore year of HS) note the Nike Fedorovs..
-
pisani- short sticks? (nice selection/rotation)damn.how tall are you? not sure i like the TBlades but it's a sick looking set up. nice gear setup too!

great gear setup! but i've always wondered about kids who wear their cages like that. i used to know a ton of kids back in the day who played HS hockey. just let their cages kinda hang. i'd imagine if they got hit, their whole face would get rocked b/c the cage would move around a ton.

medical gauze tape? on the handle of these sticks? i've always thought about using it.. my mom and dad are in the medical field (nurse and doctor) and we always have a ton of basic med supplies in our huge first aid kit.. we have a ton of that. how do you like it? i'd imagine it feels really good on your hands and won't eat up your gloves like regular hockey tape.
