Anyone from the Habs sale willing to part with a pair of leather retros? Preferrably Bauers?
-
In the Zetterberg pic on the back cover, the Stanley Cup Finals sticker is on his helmet but the preseason lettering is on his back. Weird... The EQ5 gloves do look really good, but I'm more interested in the E-Pros. Have any improvements been made (or at least attempted)?
-
Does anyone have any more info on these? They're listed at the same price as the retail version, so is there anything going on there that we should know about?
-
C'mon guys, they wear big socks...

Pros keep the top section because those require the most break-in time. With the pro pants having such thorough kidney/hip protection, the break-in time is longer than a retail pant. The lowers are replaced for cosmetic reasons more than anything else.

Has anyone seen the new Bauer Vapor Core long sleeve shirt? Is that the new version of the old mock turtlenecks they made? If not, they need to come out with those again, the three I have are looking pretty worn these days...

Jagr??

hockeymonkey has them, but they appear to be the long cuff version. Yeah I googled around a bit and came across those as well. Thanks though. I remember the H34 model from a while ago didn't have such a long cuff, and I know the have G70s now but they have angled back rolls which are definitely not very retro-looking. On another note, I tragically cut my old-school Easton gloves when I was younger (and more competitive) so I could play with a cast on a broken bottom hand. The last two fingers fit together in the fiberglass sleeve I had to wear, so I cut out the gussets and padding in those fingers to make room. What a shame...

Drewhunz or others- Does anyone know where I can pick up a pair of those natural Eagles in 14"? Thanks everyone.

Any idea if I'll be able to get custom P88's in their natural leather look?

thats not the shaft, thats the wood stick. Thats the wrong picture altogether. Just an FYI- I bought One95 shafts through HG, and although I wanted the 102 flex they had listed, for some reason their inventory is mislabeled and full of 87-Flex shafts. It took me three separate phone calls and 2 shipments for them to figure that out for me, and they didn't even have any 102 shafts in stock in the first place. Also an important note- The One95 shafts at 87 flex are way stiffer than an OPS of the same flex. At full length they're more of a true 87, but if you plan on cutting your stick more than an inch or so and want an 87 flex I would definitely drop a level of stiffness. I ended up keeping the 87 because I cut about 3.5 inches off and the flex as marked on the shaft jumped to over 96.

Regardless of whether it's true or not, I found it funny just because it's definitely something you don't hear at the rink every day...

The savings I see are usually $15-20 an item cheaper online vs. at a local shop. Of course the savings are a little greater on more expensive items/a little less on cheaper items, but if I'm ordering more than one thing online then I definitely save. I have always bought my skates locally, though, because like numerous people have said, nothing beats actually trying them on. I notice the big difference between ordering online and purchasing locally is the availability of higher-end gear. Unfortunately, most of the high-end stuff isn't carried at the shops near me, so they would have to order the items anyway. More often than not, items my shop has to order end up not being in stock with NBH, etc., so they can't even get them for me anyway. I do try to go to them first, though, before I go the online route.
