  1. Ouch, Andy Murray's comments: "I didn't think (Patrik) Berglund was good, I didn't think (David) Perron was good, I didn't think (Keith) Tkachuk was good ... I didn't think (Brad) Boyes was good," Murray said. "I thought (David) Backes was all right." Right down the line, Murray named names, sometimes duplicating players. "I expect Jeff Woywitka to be a lot better than he was today," he continued. "David Perron ... where's he? Berglund, I expect him to be better. Am I being a little hard on them here? That's just the way that it is." http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/sports/st...0F?OpenDocument

  13. Just to add: The Blues' 19-year-old rookie David Perron, the team's first-round pick this summer, played in his ninth game, one below the threshold for sending him back to juniors without losing a year of control over his rights. In the third period the Blues announced Perron also would be in the lineup on Saturday at Nashville. "David has shown he can play in the National Hockey League and has earned a spot," team president John Davidson said in a release.
  14. This is from HFBoards: For those who don't visit the Asylum, Perron did an interview with Perron with questions coming from the posters there. 1. Is it true he'll be playing in the QMJHL series against Russia? What about the World Juniors? Perron: “If I go back to Juniors, then I will play in the series. If I stay here, no I won’t play. I don’t know about the World Juniors. I have no clue. I hope I’ll be staying here.” 2. Thanks JR. David, glad to have you in the org. Would you prefer the status quo here or return to Jrs? I think most of us would like to see you PLAYING here. Good luck on a long and productive career. Perron: “Playing here.” 3. How does practicing at an NHL level and working with specialist (strength coaches etc.) help you and your game? Perron: “It helps my game a lot. Like I said, to be around these guys, just to see how mature they are off the ice, how they act . . . all these details will help me in the long run. It’s great to be here.” 4. Does he understand the philosophy behind the Blues keeping up with the team but not playing him much and is he OK with it? Perron: “Obviously I want to play every night. I understand what Andy wants to do with me right now. I keep my focus and when I get my chance, I’ll be ready for sure. I work hard to stay here for the whole year.” 5. I guess I would wonder if Murray has told Perron which games or which types of games he would get to play in. Is he more likely to play against less physical teams? Perron: “No, he didn’t say anything about that.” 6. what do you think of the blues fanbase so far? Perron: “It’s been great so far. It started at the developmental camp. The Mills was packed. It’s been the same since I got here and it’s awesome. I’m from Montreal, which is a great city for hockey, and the fans are awesome there. It’s pretty much the same here and it’s getting better.” 7. What does he think about the new Therma Blade skates that the NHL is thinking about implementing and has he tried them out? Perron: “I haven’t tried them out. I don’t have much information about the blades. I know what they are, but I haven’t tried them yet.” 8. Does he understand why he is not playing? And if so what does he think about it. Perron: “Like I said, I want to play every night. I do and I don’t understand at one point. But it’s great to be here so far. I’ve enjoyed my time and I know I’m going to get my chance. I just have to be patient.” 9. David what surprised you the most at practice in the NHL, the speed/pace of the play? Perron: “It is much faster. You have less time to make plays. You have to be quicker in everything. But playing with better players will help you a lot, too. Because it’s easier. You make pass, they’re going to give it back. At one point, the game gets easier because of that.” JR

  19. Made Bucci's column on ESPN.com Rookie winger David Perron has Davidson talking like this: "He's only 19 and he's trying like heck to make this club. It depends on where we are, how he plays. He's a kid that's worked his tail off and I don't care if the guy's 19, 29 or 39. If you're good enough to play for us, you're good enough to play."
  20. Kids getting all Warrior'ed out. Kovy - Why did your brother switch away from the SE's he used in the Super Series?
