Man, I love the look of the fake wood xxx lites. If anyone knows where to get a 77 flex p92 one of those bad boys let me know.
-
I wish I could, but I got a microbial pathogenesis exam wednesday, and biochem II exam on thurs. So it looks like I'll be in Mckeldin studying instead.

Thanks guys, It is the X02..........what's wrong with the banner? :P only thing wrong with that banner is that it's missing 2002, 2008, and in a month or so, 2009.

nice. did you go to hockeytown authentics or did you get them on ebay?
-
maybe a stupid question, but does blackstone have the patent on the l\_/l pattern or the process of putting the pattern on the sharpening stone?
-
i don't think theres a rhyme or reason behind the the 6 digit number. It's just the pattern number that the blade has been assigned. same thing with pro stock skates, if you take out the insole you can see the # for foot mold that was used. Just makes it easier for the pros/equipment managers to re-order equipment. the number below that is usually the flex. and below the flex is usually the model name.

Just got a couple pro stock one95 in. They're actually XXXX but for $105 each i can't complain. the curve (taped stick is a sackic for reference) the lie. any guesses on what the lie might be? I think I'm developing a problem

Damn, I hate not having a car. I guess I'm going to have to check it out the next time I borrow my roommate's car. Have you or geoff tried it out yet?
-
Your on phew right? Unfortunately yes.
-
So purty. Now with white tongues.
-
brick-like does come to mine, especially considering I use 40s. But I guess if they are your everyday skate, then you get used to them.
-
I'm almost positive mine are the zoom air elites. I believe they came out one year prior to the ones you have pictured... Maybe they are, but if remember correctly, Nike made a bunch of skates that looked like that, and the easiest way to tell if they were zoom air elites were by the extra stitching on the boot and solid white custom +'s like on mine.
-
those were a lower spec version of the ones fedorov wore. the zoom air elites were the ones he used, like these beauties: size 8E, if any one is interested in acquiring them

i love the look of the 70's with yellow laces. i would do that with mine, however living in the dc area, it's a bit cliché.
-
used a matte spray paint. it just came out shiny-ish.
-
I also blacked out my supreme 70's as well. Here's how they turned out so you can see a reference point. And here's a better shot of the 40s, the last one was all weird and yellow tinted.

You'll need painter's tape, rust-oleum universal spray paint, 100 grit sponge sander. 1. Mark off the areas you don't want painted with the tape and cut off excess with an exacto knife to get nice clean lines. 2. Sand the boot where ever your going to paint (don't sand the toe cap). Also avoid sanding the stitching on the boot. This helps the paint bind to the boot. 3. Spray light even coats til you get your desired color. For my skates, it only took on coat. 4. Allow to fully dry. Remove tape. Get harassed by hordes of kids at the rink on what type of skates they are and if they're x:60's

just uploaded this pic and posted it to the "murdered out u+" thread, figure I'd post them to the show it off thread as well. Blacked out prostock 40s. any one know where i can get some white tongues for these?

Does any one know of any place in the DC area that uses FBV? I'd really like to give it a try. If not, would any of you guys that are doing FBV sharpenings willing to sharpen my blades for me via the mail?
-
I hope you were being sarcastic. If not, I weep for the future. Metals don't biodegrade, they oxidize; aka rust. That's why everyone should take out their foot beds after skating in them.

Finally got all my gear and hockey tree built. I'm a bit of a nerd, so I built my hockey tree to display my gear a la samurai armor. The Gear: The Twigs
