  1. Just the usual Tuesday scrimmage with a bunch of friends. Stared out on the boring side so i switched it over after a while
  2. I modified the elbows on my 6000s, I like the elbow cups but theyre restrictive and the blocks are big but don't seem to cover the areas I want covered right
  3. Martin Brodeur wore player elbow pads in his C/A he would get his C/A and cut out the elbow pads and wear regular ones. Gave him better mobility and the protection was much better, ive been toying with this idea myself because the ones on my bauer kind of get loose and it sucks when they do
  4. Our department was broken up, so I Got the short end straw on the drawing and was transferred from my department. Went from super fast paced, where one woman in my department was so overwhelmed she hung up on a coworker mid call and burst into tears. PS. it was awesome. Where was I transferred to? The mail room. In a completely different building in the same city at least. Kept the same pay thankfully, but I'm about to stab my eyes out with the scissors they gave me. This shit is so boring that I would start clapping and blowing a horn in cheer if someone spilled paint on the wall and it begins to dry. On the hilarious side, I actually yawned really hard (folding/sorting mail for 8 hours will do that). So the next day I get a phone call from my boss "I understand that you let it be known yesterday that this job is not challenging enough for you?" 'I never said that man' "your Yawn did" 'Someone complained about that? Then transfer me to the janitors closet at least I can do something productive there'
  5. made a sale, made a purchase, i love my Itech prodigy pro stock. however i need a backup for it and in a white base. Bought a pro stock sub zero 60 degree cut. Not sure if celcius or farenheit, we'll check the temp after a few windmills when it arrives
  6. Not entirely, i've done this multiple times for my teams i used to play for, we lost a player, cant have subs by league rules so we use a different goalie and i play forward. thats why last year at my old league i had 2 wins 1 loss but 5 goals and 3 assists
  7. had a game yesterday. Because both benches had so many people cancel out we voted on 4vs4 play. Wide open, lots of creativity on some guys' part. TONS of fun.
  8. people who take being scored on as a personal insult drive me nuts, i just played in a tournament where our goalie acted like that until we told him to figure it out and enjoy the tournament. The guy i gave a whack to in my video is one of my buddies so i will handle him on purpose. This is exactly how you get better at hockey. Play with people better than you and catch up mentally and then your body will follow.
  9. I stay down because i don't feel like getting up, i'm 6'3 so i just straighten up and cover the entire angle. When i have regular games i jump right back up and move around. Ive been back in net for the last year and a half but took like six months off this year again cause i gave my old set of pads to a little kid. I played when i was a teen but gave that up for like 5-8 years I love throwing sauce, its really not hard, its something i enjoy being able to do
  10. totally forgot to post this, we do a skills and drills session on tuesdays and i decided to take the camera, stopped working after 15 minutes so this is some of the footage of the scrimmage we played in after all the drills were done. Go ahead, tell me how bad i suck, cause i doooooooo, cheers
  11. Stiffness - 100 flex Pattern – L5 Henrique W03 Grip finish

First Impression/Appearance 9/10 I really liked the fact that this stick was a lot cleaner than before. I enjoyed my time with the QR1, however the amount of orange was kind of distracting. This one has more white and some red and it’s a decent mix, if you need to know I prefer all my sticks to just be black, like my metal and coffee and soul. The first thing I noticed is that Warrior has made their sticks a little longer on the shaft, and trust me that’s a good thing. The frustration would never end when I would buy a warrior stick and unfortunately had to add 6+” of a wooden plug. Granted I added a 2” composite plug to this one but 2” is better than 6 or more. Coming from the old days of the Original Dolomite to the newer version as is now with this stick I was really happy with the balance and weight, it felt like an old friend, with improvements. Blade - 8.5/10 I’m not going to knock this blade too much. It’s a little stronger than the previous blades they’ve used. Although it’s not comparable to the 2007 blades that were amazing, that’s how the market goes, or else they’ll never sell more sticks. That being said, the durability to the blade is a little lacking the entire heel is starting to cave in, first it chipped in layers, which I assume is normal wear and tear. As for durability, it started chipping at the heel by the second game however, I still beat up the stick and take as many hard shots as possible and its still strong and shows no defective weaknesses where its chipped and worn, nor has it lost its structural stiffness. <Big word> I like the blade and the fact that I didn’t have to spend too much time trying to find a “sweet spot”…..The whole thing is a sweet spot from the feel of it. I was able to feel the puck everywhere I touched it on the blade while tipping pucks and just lightly tapping it. I like a loud blade, when the puck hits it I want to hear it, because at least I have that when the blade is dead and I don’t feel it in my hands. Shaft/Flex/Balance - 8/10

It’s a mid/low kick stick. It’s not hard to tell with this type of model, it’s been one of the most consistent shafts in the market no matter what the paint or name change is. It’s a pretty consistent flex, actually one of the most consistent sticks. I knew coming in with this being a warrior stick that if I get 100 flex to expect it to be whippier, and once I added the 2” extension then it would just act like a sling shot. I was right. If by chance you’re one of the few who needs to cut this stick, I suggest lowering the flex and then cutting. The shape of the shaft was soft but big enough to fit comfortably. One reason I wasn’t too happy with the QR1 was the shaft shape, that one felt too small, this one has just the right amount of volume, and the soft corners keep the fingers from bruising or its digging into my thenar space. The balance of the shaft is even, it doesn’t feel like its blade heavy and unlike most of my Easton sticks where one handed flicking at the puck feels like it’s labored, this stick is just so effortless. Durability - 9/10

I tend to punish sticks, especially the blades. I don’t normally get angry and smash my stick on the glass or boards, but I did happen to have an instance where I totally lost my cool and smacked the boards. I totally came to my senses after I heard the loud THUD and checked the stick, nothing. So happy…..I was VERY happy. Asides from the chipping on the blade there hasn’t been any other issues. No total damage, there hasn’t been anything that makes this stick unusable. I’ve taken hundreds of shots and its still performing. There’s already been an instance where a guy stepped on the blade and it didn’t break, what more can I say? Intangibles I’ve come to start using my snap shot more and lately I’ve started working on one timers again. This is easily one of my favorite sticks for one timers. The blade feels close to the one95 pro stock sticks/blades I used to have. Really close, actually on par. The feel entirely on the blade, from impact to just stick handling is one of the best, its very responsive and has no back flex or twisting during shots. This stick is pretty versatile in all sorts of shots. They tell you it’s great for slap shots and one timers, but the snap shot just screams out of this blade. I will say I’m disappointed in the wrist shot because it doesn’t carry that OOMPH that my other stick has, the rest carries it. Conclusion Warrior has been going through changes, revamping their old lines and creating new ones. This stick offer by them gives us a clean look, and lets the performance get the attention. There are many high end sticks at this price and higher, but I would recommend this one 4 times out of 5 because of its consistency and ability to take punishment without snapping easily. Will you be happy with you? I don’t know why don’t you try it and tell me! Overall score – 8.5/10
  12. are you kidding, theyre the PRIME suspect to drink from it "oh you have something? I don't care, i'll give myself a penicillin shot when I go in for my shift later today"
  13. I used to write Herpes on mine, then one team mate actually got it from his sex partner and that resulted in hilarity and I threw that waterbottle away
  14. man that's cool, good job. As for practicing new things, I don't really care if its in pickup, they all know better than to get serious with me, I just squirt them with water. as soon as the play goes the other way I just start sliding post to post and trying to do lateral movement or skate away to get a breeze. hell during a heavy play I got annoyed that I was taking so many shots so I got up and took a swig of water while play went on and just swung my stick and leg up and down and still blocked a shot. no biggie. get creative and try new stuff, its the only way you'll get better and theres no better time to do it than in pickup. Don't be Mr. Game 7 and don't let them get to you if they're acting like mr game 7.
  15. I wouldn't see that as being pulled, when I go to pickup the other goalie and I will switch sides every 20-25 minutes to give everyone a different goalie to shoot on. Keep working at it, pickup hockey is just another practice in my eyes
  16. i want those jock thingies, i'm expecting some payment here in the next day or two, i'll hit you up once i do
  17. it really burns me up thinking that someone would find that as a fair exchange to do that and they lknow its wrong enough to use the block option on their iphone. Because i'm not gonna see you again in our 4 rinks nearby? You're correct, some people are.
  18. yeah dude, i let one guy do it for me like a year ago because he had a pair of Wojtek Wolski gloves i wanted, but i wanted those and said "instead of paying me the 200 for this repair, hit me up with those gloves and we'll call it even" and the guy showed up at my house with the gloves, 5 rolls of tape, and some visor spray because he saw i had been talking about it before. But that was on him and we had agreed on that deal. Why someone else felt other wise is garbage and it drives me nuts, now i have stuff to sell in a flooded market. funny you say that, the one who left those RS gloves, blocked my number Dude thats awful, sorry to read that man, i hope it all gets sorted out and you can move on from that car
  19. I do hockey gear repairs for the money, i'm trying to save up for goalie pads. I dont really appreciate people bringing me a pair of gloves as PAYMENT for a repair after i quoted them X ammount of dollars and just dumping them on me as a take it or leave it. It's a jerk move when i go to the restroom and the guy bails and leaves a crappy pair of gloves as payment for a 150 dollar repair instead of agreed upon cash. Thats two in a row now, how am i supposed to pay for leg pads with a retail pair of new Easton RS gloves and a pair of Coyotes gloves? I'm just going to make people pay me cash up front before the repair or put their stuff up on ebay if they dont pay, this is garbage. I hate local people
  20. Even though i'm happy as hell when playing i always seem to look so angry
  21. STX Surgeon 500 Flex: 100 Pattern: X91 Height: 6’3’’ Weight: 255lbs Position: Center, Right Wing First Impression The stick had different tones in color to it when I pulled it out of the box, I was really interested in the black fusepoint to blade area since the entire shaft is all light gray which is decent. The big lettering for Surgeon was pretty rad with the Medical big cross in the middle of the O, a few Doctors I play with at the rink thought it was really cool of course. The stick of course was decent on weight and the balance with just a hand on the butt end was pretty decent too, the balance made it feel like a part of my hand like I’ve used it before. 8/10 Blade - 7/10

I’m not too tough on blades, I I’m angry at them. Jokes aside I tend to give them your standard wear and tear. I tap the sticks often on the ice calling for a pass or a distraction. Also when I’m trying to review a stick I do the following (I work at a rink so I have plenty times at work to just put some work in really well) 50 Slap shots 50 wrist shots 50 snap shots After that it just starts escalating to see how the blade wears down. Unfortunately the blade on the surgeon came already pretty soft. Which I loved, I’m normally only into super stiff blades but the soft blade on this stick made passing really pleasant and warm, yes I said warm. Shooting was a challenge, I had to be specific on what part of the blade I wanted to shoot off of and once I found the sweet spot (mid-toe), the shots just took off. However with the blade already being soft, it only got worse and it got a bit harder to keep readjusting after every use. By now its month 4 of using it and its basically done, I cant take a slap shot or it ends up in the corner but snap and wrist shots still sing if I hit the puck in a specific part of the blade.

 Shaft/Flex/Balance - 10/10

This is where the Surgeon plays my favorite song and stays home. I had a long phone interview with a gentleman from STX at the time I was putting together a testing team for demos and the young man explained the dual kick point on this shaft and how I would love it. He wasn’t wrong, I fell in love with it the moment I took a snap shot. It just flew like a rocket and then I took a slap shot and I was sold. Everything about this stick just popped out. The best part was the dual kick allowed me to shoot a good hard shot wherever my hands were placed, higher or lower and I got the same result without any sacrifice in quality. I was told this stick would be perfect for quickwrist and snap shots and I was surprised how a slap shot would come off so heavy. If this was offered as a single shaft, I would go back to 2 piece sticks in a heartbeat. That’s how much I liked it! Passing is really nice, receiving a pass with a soft blade offers a nice feel that allows me to cradle the puck and pop it right back to the player without struggling on a hard bounce on a stiff blade. Passing to a player gives me a really nice whip and a hard pass that feels almost like a shot. Just like a pass should be. Hard crisp and to the tape. Durability - 9/10

The blade breaking down fast but not “breaking” physically is one thing that is very impressive. Sure its gone soft but its still usable and if I give it to a beginner, they’ll probably use it for a few years I’m sure. The shaft has not broken down or lost its kick/pop and is still going strong. Asides from the blade I’ll have to give it a few points off only because of the blade. I think if STX added another layer of composite to the blade to make it a bit stiffer it’ll stay stronger longer and shoot just as good if not better. Intangibles The puck feel from this stick is pretty warm, normally I’m used to a hard pop from my sticks like CCM and Sherwood but the softer feeling from this blade is really impressive. The grip on the stick is minimal and offers a decent handle but not over the top like some companies do. Conclusion In my hands this feels like a top of the line stick, because it IS a top of the line stick. The price point its sold at is impressive when you see all other top of the line sticks going for 200-300 which has become absurd. It hangs with my Bauer sticks, it hangs with my Sherwoods, and it sure hangs with my Tacks. These are sticks I’m rotating right now so it gives me a good comparison. STX is on to something and they’re working towards a good goal, I’m curious as to what next years model upgrades will offer from this past year. Would I recommend this stick? Absolutely. But I still want you to be aware of everything about it, from the blade being a bit softer for a warmer feel to the solid shooting this shaft performs. I'll be shooting and posting a video review later on. Overall score - 8/10
  22. First playoff game and it was intense, subbed for a friend and he offered to let me use his new Scrivens' pads. They were pretty rad. after the last two games i'm really glad i have this WaLL mask

  24. Stiffness - 95 flex
Pattern – PP01 Smith Curve
 Grip finish

Reviewer has been doing Gear reviews for over 6 years and Has a decent food belly from “Killing it at the buffet” First Impression Most of the time I spray paint my sticks White, bottom half and blade, white. Getting this stick right out of the package I was very impressed with the graphics, clean black, you can see the weave, one side of it is black lettering the other side is red. It’s actually really cool! The length of the stick was perfect, no need to cut it or add one of the many 25 different sized end plugs like I have to with Bauer and Warrior, so out of the box I basically had no issue with length. All I had to do was put a Tacki mac and tape the blade, and SET! Blade - 10/10

I really judge a stick by is the blade stiffness. There is nothing I hate more than being able to flex the blade backwards with my hands and nothing is more frustrating than taking a shot and feeling the backflex of the blade. Or taking a faceoff and seeing the blade flex and the puck whip in the wrong direction. The T100 blade is the stiffest blade I have ever used, but this blade is better than other “stiff” blades. One thing about it is it doesn’t lose the feel of the puck, which is amazing. You still have that pop when getting the puck and shooting. Once that pop and stiffness go away, that blade is dead to me because I can’t feel the puck. After over a month and twice up to three times a week of heavy-duty abuse, this stick refuses to die. I love it. The foam core really reduces the vibration but doesn’t kill the feel. Like I said it has that pop to it, but it doesn’t vibrate to where you feel it badly like some other brands.

Shaft/Flex/Balance - 10/10

I haven’t used many shafts that always or ever felt right on my hands. Some shaft shapes were just bad. The T100 is a more, square shaft but it’s a very soft square (similar to my beloved RM19), one that doesn’t punish my hands after a while. Another factor is the shape of the shafts will make the flex whippier or stiffer. With the more square shaft the blade becomes a bit stiffer. So a 95 flex will feel more like a 97 in a sense. One thing people always comment is how light the stick is. Yes, its an extremely light stick, but that’s not to take away from the rest of the stick. This is a high end performing stick, don’t be fooled that just because its light that there’s no other factors to it. The carbon weave caught my attention as far as looks to this shaft. It looked similar to the Bauer G3. Which is kinda cool but as a former user of the G3, that stick didn’t have the feel and performance I expected out of such a highly praised stick. This stick however blew away all expectations. The one thing that also caught my attention was when the person at Sher Wood told me the shaft runs through the heel of the blade so the shaft is on contact with the ice all the time. This gives you better feel for the puck and the ice since you’re always in contact. More control=better shooting and puck feel. Another feature they offer is a “Flex Free Zone” Which allows you to cut up to 4”s worth off the stick without affecting the flex. This is great for me because I use tall sticks and I didn’t even have to cut this one, this one was the perfect length right out of the wrapping paper. The balance of the shaft is phenomenal! Sher Wood uses what they call “Pro Balance” which provides a full balance of the stick wherever your hands may sit. Its not blade heavy, its not top heavy, its in the middle just like a stick should be. I didn’t have to add a plug just to add a balance to it, it came at the right grade. They did this just right for this part. Stickhandling/receiving passes – 9.8/10

Like I said the blade is very stiff, has a great pop thanks to the highend carbon fiber used for the blade plus the foam core. It gives a really good feel accepting passes and stickhandling. I have used certain sticks that stickhandling I sometimes lose feel for the puck and have to look down, rarely do I need to do that with this blade. When receiving passes with other sticks I’ve seen the puck just bounce right over or away with this stick I get a pass and SLAP its on my blade and that’s it. Great feel, Pure control.

Shooting – 9.5/10

The stick is rated as a High Kick-Point. But honestly the flex profile of this shaft feels more in the middle/low-mid of the shaft, so the kick point is explosive on all shots, wrist, slap, and one timers. I prefer to take wrist shots and one timers and this stick far exceeds the tone set by most other shafts and one pieces I have used. If you put your weight into the shaft to build some power and torque, this is the stick for you, as quickly as the puck comes to you, even quicker does it fly right off. If you have an already hard shot, this stick will put a bazooka on your shoulders. This stick allows you to really put more and get more out of it. On another note the taper to the stick is quite peculiar, I loved the taper to the Widow but it had no durability, the kick to it was great but it didn’t hold up to any torque and would back flex the blade on its own. This stick has a bit of that Widow taper but stronger, and more durable to any slash or skate. The top of the blade towards the shaft it has a Torsion control Area, it keeps the blade and shaft straight without flexing back, it allows you to take any heavy shot and not allow the accuracy to suffer. This is in comparison to three other sticks I shot next to so I could grasp a better feel. One was a Bauer TotalONE and the other was a Warrior AK27 pro stock, and a G3 Bauer TotalONE, this stick far FAR outperformed all of these. Durability - 10/10

There is really nothing to explain here, for visual proof, please check my video review where i highlight all the small dents and scratches on it, and I am not that nice of a player to sticks and gear i'm reviewing. This one more than survived, it challenged me for more. Intangibles

I'm a huge fan of the clean graphics, this is one of the best looking sticks in the market in my opinion. The red on one side, and the dark on the other just looks perfect. Like a Suit. Conclusion

This is the best stick I’ve ever used. I’m a firm believer that nothing is perfect, but by far this almost comes close to it. Its great for any situation and shooting style, it shoots like a laser and for those of us with already hard shots, it shoots even harder. The Balance and shaft shape are perfect, it has a very natural feel and it's very hard to find any major faults in it. Would I recommend this stick to anyone? You bet! Matter of fact, GO GO GO GO GO GO GO, at the price you can get it, compared to Bauer and Warrior and the CCM/RBK sticks, this one is High Way Robbery. Sher-Wood did it right like they always have and have since given me a stick that is my number 1, 2 and 3. Because nothing beats this! Overall score - 9.8/10
