  1. Cost of tuuk plus 10--15 per tuuk, little more if they need it done ASAP.
  2. Chad, You'd be amazed at how many people are oblivious to those. We had one for about a month, removed it b/c it wasn't being used enough.
  3. if they increased MAP pricing 5% higher from wholesale cost than it is now, I think it would help the small LHS tremendously. Granted the big boys would increase their profits by that much more, but, it would allow LHS to have the same prices as everyone else so the playing field would be more level. Granted this would make hockey even more expensive, which, is definately not something anyone wants to see happen. Either that, or, companies start taking a hit for those LHS who do a small amount with them annually. The big boys who easily do six-figures + with these companies can't get on this lower pricing b/c they can't afford it. Those LHS who consistantly do a small amount (over a long period of time, so this LHS can't screw the company) year to year start getting those lower prices that the guys who consistantly do half a million year to year. Is it fair to the big boys or the guys in the middle? No. But it would definately make it more feasable for your ma and pa shops to stay in business.
  4. fair enough. glad the other side is properly explained, definately could see some other guys explain what you said a different way, in a worser explanation. I was upset that they used this shop as a fitting service, bought from HM[we had the same colors in stock] (saw the box they through in trash), and the helmet was not properly fitted, as he clearly needed a different brand/narrower fitting helmet based on what I saw happen to him when he fell. Irregardless or not if they come in here for sharpenings, we make our livelihood on selling product rather than sharpenings, so while appreciative that they continue to sharpen here & to get accessories, it still hurts when we lose sales like them. We're definately not big enough to be shurg off a $150 sale. The profit gained in that helmet sale would be greater than sharpening their skates for a season, and that's even if they sharpen everytime here, and do it when necessary instead of waiting like most people do. I'm over it now, we'll sell the helmet within a month anyways, its just annoying when we have the product they wanted and ended up getting, yet choose to get it at HM.
  5. this story pretty much explains why I don't think I can do hockey shop work forever... a family comes in. I ask if I can help them on helmets (since they were looking at helmets and pulling differet ones out). "no we're good, thanks though" "okay just let me know if you have any questions" dad leaves, comes back with skates. I sharpen. Dad pays with skate pass, so he's a local, who comes in here often. Without any help from me they selected the reebok 8k helmet. I overhear them talking about checking the price, "because oh god, 144.99 is so high!" So after I'm done sharpening I went up to them and explained what we've done this year with pricing, how everything is equal to or below hockeymonkey after ship. We're $153.69 after tax, HM is 154.97 after ship/handling. I looked up both prices on our computer, showed them and explained their prices and ours. I then said did they size him in the cage, they said no it wasn't necessary he's always been the same size cage as helmet. Wife is on phone saying something about checking other sites, Dad says okay thanks that's good information to know. So... I didn't size this kid up at all in cage or helmet size... This kinda spit i'm used to, saying we'll be back, or not beliving our price (i was actually happy I could explain this to these people while in store). But when he didn't say we'll be back or something along that lines, it was a little concerning. This is where my head starts to hurt... I see this family this weekend at the rink, they ended up getting a combo from hockeymonkey... cage totally doesn't fit the kid (the 5k mask) b/c its realllllly huge on him, and the helmet overall didn't have a tight fit, b/c he fell down and i could see the whole helmet shake side to side. I mean I already expect to see this crap, but, everytime i do it makes me want to palmface. A) why would you not support local business anyways, even if it was 5-10% higher than the net? B) why wouldn't you get your kid properly fitted? C) why would you not get something today instead of waiting a week to get it? Always blows my mind. /end rant.
  6. unless you have a sizable staff who can help EVERY customer in the store asap, shops have to display at minimum one of each curve/flex/grip/etc. they would loose quite a bit of business if they didn't.
  7. someone stepped on your holders with their blades. as for the s19 drop in pricing... happened everywhere, MAP is down to 220/230. Gotta love that email I got from totalhockey saying it was exclusive to them.. ha.
  8. palmface.jpg hate that crap. DS, have you guys thought of making a sheet explaining online purchases cost + shipping + handling compared to your price + service + proper fit + etc? its helped us quite a bit this year, although you always have those people who will always use a LHS as a fitting service, it definately cuts down on that amount of people that do that. the other day someone came in, argued the price of clothing, we proved that their price plus this amazing shipping price he could supposedly get was 1 dollar cheaper than us. He made us knock off the dollar or he wasn't getting it.
  9. What's most impressive is 1.7 Million views.
  10. Hejduksport visor. Lots of people here like them bc pros use their variants.
  11. Were not dealers with them. Is their costs comparable to bauer/reebok? If so definitely might have to go with them...
  12. hey guys gotta question do you have visors? Bauer (old itechs) and Oakley (what they didn't have in stock) are literally going to take until October to come in. We had a call the other day from someone who said they literally have tried every shop to try to find any visor, let alone a straight pro. is the people who make the visors not doing it or short supply or what? We ended up grabbing some random ones from oakley that dont sell well just so we can actually have something. Also I hate people try to lowball you on gear that just showed up, let alone stuff that you are in the middle of unpacking... different story :P
  13. Clos. To map is 230. One100 is 180. One80 is 130? Can't remember specifically. basically they did the sane as their skates. to is brand new,big one and they reduced the pricing on rest of it.
  14. Oh wow new everything again. and they wonder why their losing shops. does warrior understand that two year cycles actually help them and their shops? This is ridiculous... looking nice though newer gear.
  15. Correct no p10. From what I remember, p14 is now a normal curve like the p91a and p106. The p02 will only be available very limitedly. So basically 3 big curves, 3 select curves and 1 limited curve
  16. customs. thinking about SMUing some baby blue gloves but probably not.
  17. figured i'd show em off eventually.
  18. It is. Ship date on TO and LE is early October.
  19. well played map pack last night for a couple hours. gotta say, I kinda want my money back. Of the 5 maps I played each probably 3-4 times on different game types. I HATE Trailer park. Absoutely hate it. If you don't have a C4 class with a shotty and a high damage AR, you start to rage pretty quickly. Carnival is awesome. Fuel I started to really like once I started to know the map and where to stay at. I love the mod to Strike, and Vacant I never loved, so Im not the happiest its back. 3 out of 5 maps I like isn't exactly ideal for me, as I was 5 for 5 on stimulus. Am also not a fan they got rid of the stimulus game mode, as it would have been nice to play those maps regular by themselves. 15 bucks is pretty steep, sadly IW has had probably close to 10 million come in from this already, with probably another 20 or so to come in. Once Reach comes out I'm going to be playing that most of the time.
  20. I got it wex. It was available last night before I went to bed, tried downloading and it wouldn't let me. I played again this afternoon and it wasn't avaialble. Before I went to work at 4 it was up. You can download it now. Can't wait to get home, the trailers have looked very impressive. Hopefully there isn't another map pack, I'll be pissed if there is and probably wont get it if it exists. What playlist are you playing race? Stimulus, sabotage and team death express I only experienced lag switchers maybe once a week, if that.
  21. I get what your saying wb, but it seems to me that the TO is still above and beyond the one95, thus the higher pricing on now sticks and skates, and soon to be protective assuming that's what's next is justified b/c its a better product. The one100 models more or less have been identical to the one95s, and been cheaper. (one100 stick at 180). So its not like they took the one95, renamed it, and bumped the price. Anyawys I expect the TO stick to fly off the shelves. It's awesome, and kids love their Bauer. What's probably the most impressive new item is the one100 goalie stick. Made me want to be a tender.
  22. unless bauer does something we're not expecting, yes. their vapor/supreme gear is on a 2 year cycle.
  23. Couldn't have been, this guy actually scored a couple of goals.
  24. he thought he was as good as him. he was taking wrist shots from the blue line and if they didn't miss by several feet, it floated like slow motion into the goalie's glove. He also didn't back check. Might have been ovi :P
