A couple years back I was playing in a fairly mellow pickup game and a kid shows up going balls-out every second he's on the ice. Cross checking in front of the net, hacking at sticks and throwing his body in front of shots. After about 20 minutes he attempts to block a shot and end s up taking out the shooter, an older guy that wasn't a great skater and couldn't avoid his sprawled out body sliding across the ice. End result is a guy riding in the ambulance with a broken leg and not being able to work for more than a month, just because one guy wanted to play "all-out". the guy you described isn't going all out, he's a douche bag. I think theres a slight difference between that and getting your moneys worth out of pickup. I skate hard at pickup but i'm in it for the workout.

I've been rocking those since my LHS got them. awesome gloves.

if you can't skate, wear a friggin cage. i'm sure this has been mentioned, but i just saw some guy whose been playing for a relatively short amount of time lose a handful of teeth after falling in front of the net.

currently losing to florida 4-0. lol.

heh, i swear one night this guy must have taken 15 slap shots into traffic from the point or lower (by the faceoff circles) and probably missed the empty net on over half of them. (and the ones he hit? GOAAAAAAAAAAAL THROW YOUR HANDS UP AND CELEBRATE)

how about slapshots into traffic on an open net (no goalies) at open hockey when 3/4 of the people out there are not wearing shoulder pads? thats always nice.

i don't think i intentionally went for the head, it happened like a split second after he passed the puck. Its a shitty situation but i don't think that deserves suspension.

back check? whats this? you just around in the neutral zone and wait for a pass right? no forechecking either. just stand around and hope something comes your way.

i got bitched at (sort of) for fore checking/skating once (instead of standing around waiting for a pass?). was at a game, not pick up or anything
