Jordan6969 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 Yeah I'm stuck on a math problem on an equations assignment that my teacher gave me yesterday. She just refuses to give my any help on it and I don't know who else to turn to. Anyway the problem is:2(x-3)(2x+5)-3(x-2) = (2x-3) (2x-3) this last binomial was squared but I don't know how to make the symbol so I just wrote it out completely.Jordan
morty 0 Report post Posted May 6, 2005 I got 33/7 for the answer. just factor it all out.2(2x^2+5x-6x-15) - 3x+6 = 4x^2 -6x-6x+94x^2-2x-30-3x+6 = 4x^2 -12x +94x^2 -5x - 24 = 4x^2 -12x + 9 (4x^2's cancel each other)-5x-24=-12x+97x=33x=33/7I think that's right at least. I can't recall the last time I had to do anything like that. Which proves that math is useless and we shouldn't have to learn it. ;)
