Re-gluing a blade

Recommended Posts

You have to have heat gun, hair dryer, etc. Heat up the glue and put it on. Put on a genoureus amount and make sure you have some every where. Put the blade back in the shaft and let the glue dry

beat me to it

Assuming you don't have a torch or heat gun, heat the stick over a burner or element on your stove then wipe it on the blade. Make sure you roll the stick to heat all sides at the same time.

Heres one way to do it (probbly not the best though.) I take the glue stick, cut it into a few pieces, then hold one piece on the tennon heat it till it sticks there, and repeat the process until all my glue is stuck to the tennon, then I heat it again until its all over the blade.

Fastest way is: Hold the bottom of the stick glue, melt the top with the hair-dryer, when it's melted, put the hair-dryer on a table, hold your blade and put it on the tenon and roll the blade till you have enough glue on it. Then, remelt and put the tenon in your shaft.

I use a hair-dryer  but like how are you suppose to pick the glue up and put it on the blade

Blade between your knees, dryer in one hand, glue in the other.

just use a little arts and craft glue gun, they are like $3 at an arts store and work perfectly fine, when done glueing just hold the blade over your stove at about 3 inches or 5 cm or so and heat the glue back up annd put the blade in your shaft......its alot easier than using a hair dryer or heat gun

if i dont have extra glue then i put a strip of tape over the blade then heat it so it melts when you put it in. it just takes up the extra space, especially if you have a blade that is not for that shaft.
