More popular curve-Modano (Forsberg) or Shanahan?

Which one do you think is better?

I am going to try out a lie 6 and I wanted to know what is the popular choice here. Easton doesn't seem to make much in the way of Shanny stuff anymore....what's up with that?

I want an SL but it only comes in the Forsberg(Modano) curve.

EDIT - poll title edited to decrease potential "IT'S ALL PP" posts.

ITS ALL PP.....This is so stupid

Re-read my post. I wanted to know what the popular choice is.

Don't need to snap at me, junior.

But on the poll it says, "Which one do you think is better"..Everyone has a different style and shooting form...try again bud

I edited it just for you, sonny.

I explained the reasoning of the thread in the body. I thought that was enough to convey the purpose of the poll. Apparently not.

Also, it said "Better Easton Curve", and not "Which one do you think is better?"

Maybe you should try again, hombre.

Why dont you just buy blades and try them both...That was tough...Cause whatever is most "popular" might not work for you..Think about that?

AND by the way I am not your Sunny.....

Now back on topic I guess....thanks Duder ya helped me chill out a bit :)

Curves are all about personal prefences, i could not agree more with you on that part. While something may not work for you, it may be the best thing since bread and butter for me.

But, the most popular curve means that the curve is the easiest to adjust to. Some people simply do not have the money to go out and buy 2 different curved blades, so they want to make the right purchase. Seeing which one is the most popular will pursuade Fletch into buying that curve, because thers a better chance he can adjust to it and like it in the long wrong.

I thought you meant more popular as in which one sells more or has been sold more.

In that sense I think the shanny's been out longer and is about all you could buy in Rhode Island, but I think the Modano is the best selling easton pattern.

Just a guess though I have no real numbers.

That said........I used to live by the shanahan as a kid and its clones but I tried out a modano last year (approx) and I liked it a lot.

I gotta agree with Kovy, Drury is about as popular as a 3 legged transvestite but its the only curve i'll use. The SL comes in patterns other than Modano, which as has been stated is a lie 5 and nothing remotely close to a shanahan. Regardless of the poll results, Modano is far and away the more popular curve.

Modano curve has been the # 1 selling curve, right or left, in my shop for over 3 years. I used to play with it but went to Lidstrom a few years ago. I like the square toe for digging the puck off the boards as a blueliner and the open face curve is great for banging the biscuit off the glass to clear the zone when we're running around like the Rangers in our own zone! Just my 2 cents, is that under the new NHL cap?

Shanny curve = Coffey = Thornton.

Have you seen Gaborik by Easton? That certainly looks like Shanny.

Those are nowhere in the same ballpark together....Not even close to shanny...

Just letting you know ;)

Just try and find a Modano composite blade in most shops. You can't. They are always sold out. Same with Inno Fedorov's. I am always looking for the next great pattern to make my game better, but ALWAYS come back to the Modano or it's clone. I think it's because my form is so horrid that it helps my shot. I almost never turn my blade over all the way in a follow through and usually shoot off my wrong foot. Without turning my hands over, the almost closed face helps. I can still roof it and have no problems lifting it on slappers. Snappers are my bread and butter though. I can just about pick corners with the Modano. Quite frankly, the lengnth of my stick is what's most importaint now. Even 1/4" makes a difference. Hope I did not get off the path too much.

modano is a lie of 5, not 6.  the curves are pretty much the exact opposite.  Modano/Forsberg is much more popular then Shanny

Modano's a 5?

Dammit....at thehockeyshop.com, their key has it listed as a 6.

Correct. Modo - Forsberg is a 5. The key that was incorrect was one Easton used several years ago.

i must say, its gets a little old with any thread that always gets the pp shutdown. we pretty much all know that. its another day and someone has a topic to talk about - why not indulge in the conversation and have fun with it and talk, instead of mocking and jumping on people. do we really have that much better stuff to talk about around here? is the bandwidth really so cluttered? i for one dont mind the thread - regardless of its repetitive nature or pp implications.

as for the topic - i cant go with the easton 6 lie, or id be a shanny man...i love toes. im using the modo right now and enjoy it - just wish it had a little toe maybe ala iggy, easton 6 lie is just to steep for me.

I'd hit it.... :P

ANYWAYS....I used to go modano, but then I picked up a P106 and never looked back....

edit: the shanahan is more like a hook at the mid, while the coffey is just a gross banana. I've never seen the thornton curve before.
