Your NHL Teams Rumors

Yzerman will likely move to the wing anyway. That's where they're going to need help and it doesn't make sense to buy out a point per game guy for one year of Yzerman playing center on a bum knee.

That's assuming he can play.

That would be AWESOME if Modano came and played here. It would be nice to see him and Hull play here together.

I agree that it would be cool to see Modano & Hullie together again. If Phoenix can get a quality goalie, they have the makings of a team that could go deep in the playoffs.

If tutoring an up and coming Russian talent is part of the decision for Kovalev, Montreal's got 2 for him to work with...Kostitsyn and Perezhogin.

Okay, I'm harping. I'll let it go.

.... You're overrating your prospects. They'll be good, but they aren't capable of becoming a superstar in the league. Perezhogin doesn't even know if he'll be let back in does he?

They both have huge upsides as well as some baggage to work through. I just think they would both benefit from having guys like Kovalev and Markov around.

anyone got any rumours about the leafs

Go back and re-read. Half the league is coming to Toronto by the sounds of it.

With the new rule changes and Modano's speed and size he stands to have the biggest uptake on points. He may be very scary again.

I agree, he could look like he did 5 years ago. Hull on the other hand, could look like a pylon with a slapper.

I didn't watch much of Hull in his glory days for STL, but wasn't that what he was? A guy who stood around in open areas and fired slapshots? I remember he used to always shoot from outside the blueline on Potvin.

Anyone have any idea of wats up with Alexander Mogilny? I havent heard his name mentioned at all. Is he coming back to TO

Last rumour was he'll take 1/3 of his previous salary to stay, but I have no idea if he is capable of playing. Personally, I doubt he comes back to the NHL.

He's played for 2 of my least favorite teams (Buff/Tor) but I always liked Alex. If he doesn't come back, that's too bad. He still had good years left in him, if not for that injury.

I don't think anyone will pay him much to come back. His hip is a perfect mach for Bure's knee.

I'd love for Pittsburgh to pick up Cujo to mentor MAF. He seems like a good guy even after the Detroit organization completely treated him like trash and he STILL came back to carry them after Hasek went down.

cujo NEVERED carried the wings IT WAS manny legace.

I don't get all you Wings fans and your obsession with Legacy, career backup, never anything more. He couldn't carry Cujo's jock.

legace has never gotten a fair shake at the #1 job any where he played. hopefully with the new cba he will get his chance.

btw how many times does cujo have his name on the cup? i think NONE.

cujo is only successfull on teams that depend upon him, where he recieves tons of rubber. it's why he was so great in edmonton and toronto, as he was frequently relied upon in the net, and faced a barrage of pucks every night. he would be a good fit in pitsburgh, as they're not so defensively sound, but place him on any good team and he'll be nothing more than your average netminder.

and i believe legace has paid his dues to be the number one guy in detroit, and should be given the chance to prove himself.

You don't hope a career backup will somehow improve if you have Yzerman and Shanny back for one more kick at the cup.

They're both garbage. CuJo hasn't been good since 2000. Legaces always had a dream job of backing up Stanley Cup contenders. 95% of the games he plays in the D steps up because they know its a back-up, it happens everywhere. I'd call 40 games and the start in the playoffs "a legit chance" at a starting spot.

wing placed whitney, hatcher, and mccarty on waivers to be bought out on tuesday.

how good is cujo? he could not win a cup in det or tor. so what makes you think he will win one in pitts? he won't. besides pitts is nowhere as good as the the wings or leals.

pre-cba, nope. post-cba, I doubt there will be NEARLY as far a difference.
