Jofa Bubble Cage

Just a quick question for those who go to prep school. I'll use Shattuck- St.Mary's as an example. Do the players at Shattuck get all their equipment paid for, such as sticks, skates, gloves......etc?

Petey21 would probably know better than i would, but i think they are easier get in europe. a guy that used to work in the shop played over there like 4-5 years ago, and goes back every so often. i thought he had one laying arround, so i asked him for it but he had already given it to someone else. but he told me he was going to sweeden next week and would pick me up one. came back with two, one for me and a buddy, both for $50.

Im guessing its alot of money to go there(the school)

shit, at avon we don't get anything...

where you going SW?

St. Andrew's, were playing you next year I think, as long as you're going to Belmont and Berkshire tourneys. Maybe they'll schedule some exhibition but you're not in MPHL

If you want the exact number then PM I don't really want to be the biggest chissler ever..

Why exactly did they stop making these cages, even if they are very old people still seem to like them so why did they stop? Also, why don't more companys make White Cages, I only know of Jofa who does, and Bauer made the 3000 in white, which seems to be hard to find, so why don't more make it in white?

White cages don't sell well at all in most markets.

At avon old farms we have team gear. So for varsity if you don't have a maroon helmet, you get a bauer 4000, if you don't have blue gloves we get the bauer 5000 in black in blue, issued pants are vapor 10's. We don't get sticks or skates. The varsity team gets free skate shapenings.

We have our own chrismas touney, so we don't play in tournaments anywhere else. So unless you're in the NEPSAC tourney for new englands, we won't play you.

If you mean the bubble cages, they don't sell them in stores here anymore. The only places I've seen them lately would be thrift stores and such, but I haven't seen any brand new bubbles in stores for years, they only sell those newer more angular cages. It's possible however that certain stores have kept a few, did you ask that guy where he got those two cages from?

They're by far the most popular cage in H.S. hockey here in Minnesota I had one for a while but it was one of the junior ones and I sold it to a friend. Most kids my age in my year can't wear one becasue of a nasty accident where a kid broke his jaw and now the parents are afraid of what will happen. It's a tradition that the seniors pass their mask on down to the incoming players. So it's not all prep.

i dont think "most popular" is the correct term, but most sought (sp?) after. everyone wants one, but they are so rare. would you agree flo?

flo- where are you from again?

Roseville Minnesota

I think ITECH's 908i2 is based on the old Jofa design plus it is painted white on inside and black on the outside.
