Rafalski resigned with the Devils, terms were not disclosed. Not much of a surprise considering Niedermeyer is gone.

Devils add Malakhov and McGillis as well.

Malakhov was great with the Devils in 2000, albeit that was 5 years ago. Although he was my band aid backup solution (along with Berard) if the Devils lost Niedermayer. Signing McGillis is confusing, because that means we have six NHL caliber D (Rafalski, Malakhov, White, Martin, Matvichuk, McGillis) not counting Scott Stevens, who by most accounts is healthy and ready to go.

The Devils signed Matvichuk? Where did you see that?

We signed him before the lockout for 4 years.

Oleg Tverdovsky coming back to the NHL after a two year stint in Russia. Signed with the Hurricanes. Devils definitely used him wrong, so I wouldn't be surprised to see Tverdovsky back scoring 40-50 points.

Most won't consider this a huge signing but the Rangers have signed Jason Ward from Montreal. He never really got a shot in Montreal, but Jason was the AHL MVP in Hamilton (2002-03) and played here during the lockout. Great leader. He'll play in whatever role he's given. Class all around.

NYR also signed super pest Ville Nieminen from Calgary.

Well....If Henrik lands in TO in the next few days that should soften the blow a little. Nik Antropov and draft picks...??? sounds good to me.
