Good shafts for Slap shots

Recommended Posts

The RedLite XN10 is very light. Stickhandling is cake. However, I feel shotpower is a bit off when compared to other shafts. Definatley some vibration too.

The M2 is a bit heavier, but I think shotpower is stronger. Vibration isn't as noticeable. I have mentioned that I use a Easton Zcarbon in it, and balance is great. I love the combo.

The R2 XN10 is a better performing stick IMHO. It is what the RL should be in terms of performance. Mine is Stiff though, I would have preferred it to be a Regular.

More durable, and not necessarily geared for performance. He listed the ones he considers tank shafts. I'd say the opposite would be something like a Z-bubble.

Chadd have you had complaints about the RBK sticks for just slap shots or shooting in general?

Breakage, feel and performance were the complaints I heard from the people who didn't say "it's the bestest stick ever invented"

The 5k isn't being marketed as the best shaft ever invented. It's a good mid-priced shaft. Many love the snake grip.

As with any product, some will like it, others not. I haven't had any complaints from customers.

i have recently tried a sysnethsis grip and hated it. i have also gotten rid of everything i have made by easton, long story. i replaced my shafts with inno 1100. the best shaft i have ever used. i may not be light but it is right for me.

SalmingUSA,

brings up a good point in looking at salming's swedish web site for a retailer in your neck of the woods.

Hockeydude 49,

maybe a ops is not the right choice for him. i like the the fact that if i brake the blade i'm only out $50. besides i don't have to use a spefic brand. thought i use a tapered blade/shaft combo. i know that you can turn a ops into a shaft after you brake it, but it is not the same.

Tapered combo is the best of both worlds. You can use wood or composite and still get the extra zip on your wristers and snappers.

I play on wooden floors and sometimes sport courts so 1 piece blades just crack along the bottom and wooden blades just crack all over on the wooden floors. so i tend to use blades like the koho 4440. And also i just feel better palying with a 2 piece for a reason and i can also change blades when i want to.

Has anyone had any experiences with the Bauer X shaft?

Yes.. very nice shaft IMO.. great feel, extremely light and excellent balance.

Combo with a Z-Carb Focus Flex, i really enjoy shooting with this shaft, really responsive with a crisp feel. Wheel barrow contour for added concave/convex feel.

Nice to use once and a while when i switch from OPS's..

If it's the same shaft as the TFG, it's one of the best performing shafts I've ever used.
