Just wondering for any Canadians out there if any of you follow the CFL? Personally I'm a big fan of the league and find it much more exciting then the NFL.

I dont normally watch CFL but I watched the Argos Stampeders game. It was SICK. There were 3 HON candidates from it. The 2 most notable being, first when Allen is picked the guy starts running down the feild Baker ABSOLUTELY CRUSHES him, seriously the biggest hit I have ever seen in CFL football, ball pops loose and the offence recovers. The other is after the Stamps miss a feild goal with litlle time left Livingston desides to stay in the end zone and run out the time so he's going back and forth out to the side then all of a sudden he starts gunning it, ends up goin the full length for the score, it was sweet.

in detroit we get CBC out of windsor. right now with no other enjoyable sports to watch, i have found myself watching every sat nite. i think some of the players could play in the nfl. tom canada is great. just wish more nflers would play with as much heart as the cflers do.

I try to take in as many games as i can but we get local black outs for home games its tough to see the lions on TV

They're on ALMOST every week. On Saturday, catch the game on CBC, even though there will be no commentators or that sort of thing, just the game for CBC is on strike so no colour commentary or 'Welcome to the football game'..just the game itself.

Up here in Canada we're not pansies who need four downs to get ten yards.

That's because it's much, much easier to gain yards in the CFL and any other league other than the NFL because of the lack of talented defensive players.

The second half of last nights Argo Stamps game was insane!!! Baker crushing that guy that got the INT, then the punt return and the missed feild goal return. i was watching and getting tired when Levinston(sp?) started going on the punt return and i thought he was down the i looked agian and he was gone. crazy.

I personally find the CFL more interesting. 3 downs is a great rule. Way more throwing. With 3 downs you can run the ball twice or three time to get a few yards. Anyone see the Argos game last night. Amazing, Allen through the interception and baker ran over that guy and picked up the fumble. And then levinston with the kick return TD and the 111 yard missed field goal return TD. WOW!

EDIT- Just saw the post above me. Talking about the same stuff :D

I live in winnipeg and the bombers suck so much so thats the only down part, our quarters backs are sooooo bad, i like to watch the argonauts, that kick returner azril landry (sp?) is awsome and is only like 5 feet. BC pisses me off for sum reason, mabey cuz there first or cuz i hate there jersey i just dont lik em

So you're saying the defensive linemen suck in the CFL? A yard is a yard guys, it's not going to change between leagues, I'm just saying its much easier to get 10 yards in the NFL. You can pretty much run it the whole time where a QB in the CFL has to throw it if the RB fails.

Lmao.

I also must agree with AS12. Man that argos game was crazy. Livingstone with an 111 yard and 109 yard punt return and missed field goal return. But the hit of the year Baker LEVELED the guy of the INT. Man i was hurting just watching it. Than i quote off Sportscentre "Somebody should of had him" - Trey Young (guy who got smoked) To top it off he recovered the fumball.

Your talking to the biggest bomber fan in Canada. The bombers aren't great this year but they haven't be that bad lately there on a 2 game win streak right now. Landry is the kick returner for Montreal Brashir Levingston is the returner for Toronto.

I just can stand how all you need in the NFL is 2or3 yards per carry and then you have a 1st down. Also in the NFL it seems like one game a week has a score of around 9-7 which is so incredibly boring. I'm still an NFL fan but I like to cheer for the teams that put some points on the board.

I think the reason CFL players play with so much heart and also the fact that the CFL is taking off in popularity is these players earn average working guys salaries, the average salary in the CFL is about 50 grand a year. I think it makes guys work harder because they know they can't retire with millions in the bank in a year or two, and it lets guy X who works in the mail room at your typical nondescript corporation who makes the same amount as him relate better.

I enjoy the CFL. Sure, maybe the skill level isn't quite NFL level, but it's exciting to watch, there's tons of room for great athletes to make great plays, there is always an opportunity for a big play.

I compare the CFL - NFL games to be something like NHL - CHL/College games.

That's exactly what I'm saying. I've never seen a CFL game, but I have seen plenty of Arena Football games (pretty similar talent-wise I would assume, Arena most likely having higher quality players than CFL) to tell you that the defenses suck. They're much more exciting to watch for that reason IMO, but the fact is that the defenses are not as good.

10 yards is way, way easier to get in the CFL because of the talent department again. All of the good defensive players are in the NFL, the rest are in the other leagues (CFL, Arena, NFL Europe). The depth of offensive players is better, so on offense, talent is much higher in the lower leagues when comparing them to that league's defenses.

One more thing, if you think you can run the whole time in the NFL, you have never watched a game of it.

There's my $0.02... Have a nice day

It can get boring, but that's football. Defense wins championships...

Like I said, the other leagues are more exciting but the NFL has much higher talent and level of play.

I believe one of the better Arena football league QBs is a back-up in the CFL. Bishop? If the league is watered down defensively, how would it not be, offensively as well?

The NFL is definately more talented, no question, but I think the CFL is a more exciting game to watch. 3 downs forces you to throw more, so it seems like the NFL has alot more ground work than the CFL.

Don't comment unless you've seen both leagues. I probably shouldn't be commenting either, because I am just an extremely casual fan for both leagues.
