Bauer Vapor XX Gloves

Recommended Posts

I have not used them because I am sticking with eagles. But I know a kid who has a pair. He says that there really nice and comfy. He just got them and wore them last practice so he couldn't really tell me that much about them. I got practice in a couple nights, I'll ask him some more stuff on them if you want. Also the gloves look very sharp IMO.

I do not own them, but I have worn them. IMO, they are extremely comfortable and DO NOT fit like the Nikes as everyone says. They seemed to fit much looser than the Nikes. The neoprene or whatever the stuff is on the palms does not allow the stick to slip out of your hands, as I thought it would. Good wrist mobility, and I really like how the gloves stretch so your hands have the extra movement. Deciding between my ProStock Easton Airs and the Vapor XXs, its very close to pick which one is a better glove.

I got a pair a few months ago and I have to say that they are really nice. It took little time to break them in. The flexible theumb is nice and the glove itself fits nicely. The palms are the same as any other I have tried. I am really looking foawrd tog etting my Heliums due to the tacky palm. As for protection goes I played with them today and I must have taken atleast 5 shots in the hands and I didnt feel a thing. I am thinking about getting a Pair of Vapor XXX, but I dont like the idea of the extra set of palms(Does that means the palms arent durable?) Overall I really like the Vapor XX's and the color scheme makes them seems even nicer...RED.

i've gone thru a couple stores "wall of gloves" trying on every pair they had...the vapor XX's are the ones that i find most comfortable.

not sure how others would compare once they're all broken in though...

my buddy has a pair that he's had for right around 7 months, and they're holding up great...he skates probably 4 nights a week on average and they don't show any signs of wear as far as i can tell.

I currentlt own a pair 13 inch XV's and really love how tight they feel on your palm but at the same time how loose they are on your wrists. Im thinking of upgrading however to a pair of 14 inch XX's as the XV's are very short for a 13 inch glove IMO.

I have tried on a pair of 14 inch X's instore and they felt great so was wondering If I get the 14 inch XX's does anyone think I will have the same palm feel/tightness with the extra protection I need?

I too love these gloves (see my review in the review section). I've used them since the day they hit retail and they are absolute tanks, playing 3-5 times a week for almost 9 months and the palms aren't even worn on the nash parts. The only thing that stinks about them is.. well, mine *stink* but bad.. they're in the "wash your hands immediately after getting home" stage.. I'm gonna try the sanisport on them and if it doesn't help I may have to retire them and get another pair.

As far as the XV vs. the XX. I don't think the XX are quite as tight in the back of the hand area as the XVs in the same size. I know mine aren't as tight as the XV I tried. Though I will say IMO they are as close to perfect fit wise as any glove I've ever used. Snug on the back of the hands and fingers and loose in the wrist.

Of course the XV has a standard nash palm so it may get a little more loose after breaking in wheras the XX is the stretch fit material that retains it's shape over time.

Yeah I had a problem with that as well. I just threw them in the washer and left them out to dry and most of the stench is gone. I think the next time I was them I will add a little more detergent.

When I bought my XV's I spent almost half an hour in the store deciding whether to buy those or the XX's. I couldn't be more happy with my decision. As Geki has said, the fit is snug on the back of the hands and fingers and loose in the wrist - pretty much everything I look for in terms of fit. The protection is great and the nash palm is doing well after about 8 months. I know you're asking about the XX's but trust me when I say that the XV's are just as good. They're also $50 USD cheaper too.

My son went from Eagle X-70's to the Bauer XV's which he loved, then to Mission M-1 Pro's...but only briefly...the Missions did not suit his style of play as well as the Eagles or the Bauer XV's, and then on to the Tour G-7 Pro's which he also loves...probably even a little even more than the Bauers or Eagles..but they are all so nice it's really hard for him to be certain....he has never tried the Bauer XX's, but it would seem that for those who like the fit and feel of the Eagles, the Bauer XV's would probably suit you well and the Tour G-7's too....all those appear to be super gloves which permit a lot of wrist freedom, provide great hand feel as well as great protection.

The only real problem is that he hasn't worn any of them long enough to give any idea of durability or lack thereof....so far 4 months is the longest on either the Eagles x-70's or the Tour G-7 Pros, and 3 months on the XV's ( 1 week on the Missions) None showed any problems in that time frame.
