visor question

Recommended Posts

I currently use the oakley straight cut small visor. I was thinking about switching to the itech straight cut but I wanted to know if the itech straight cut is the same size as the regular oakley straight cut os is it smaller?

Sorry to bring up this old topic - but the itech is much bigger then the oakley straight small or the oakley stragiht cut to? Also the itech hs22 avaitor is slightly bigger then the straight cut -- is that correct?

Thanks

The Oakley straight small is the smallest one I've seen. The straight HS22 and straight Oakley are pretty similar in size and the aviators are larger.

I just got the HS22 straight cut and I think its pretty small, although I'm coming from an RBE1 which was a monster.. I wouldn't want any smaller than the one I've got now, its perfect.

I'm looking into purchasing a visor, so I was just wondering what's the height on these visors.

- Oakley Straight Cut - Small

- Oakley Straight Cut

- Itech HS22 - Straight

I've heard that the Oakley small straight cut is about 7 centimetres in height. Also, what visor would you guys recommend for inline hockey?

Hey Chadd, thanks for posting the height on the visors. Do you have any idea whether or not the Itech HS22 is similar with the Oakley Straight Cut in size?

I haven't seen/used an Oakley straight in a while. The other two I actually had sitting here at the house.

I keep an extra towel on the bench to wipe off my visor and I wipe it after every shift. Other than buffing the hell out of the visor with a soft cloth, I haven;t found anything that really fixes scratches.

sorry to hijack a thread but i have an itech visor with surface sratches, what can i use to get rid of them, if there is anyway?

try liquid car wax. i have used it to keep a visor clean, as well as on my sunglasses and to repair scratches on cds. it worked pretty good.

any liquid car wax thatthe atuo store or general merchindise store sells should work.

Is it me or are these visors about the same size in height?

By the way, is there a specific type of spray that you are suppose to purchase with when you purchase an Oakley visor. I've read on customer reviews that if you use a different type of cleaner for your Oakley visor other then the Oakley spray of some sort that you can ruin your visor.

Sorry for the confusion, I didn't mean to phrase the question in a way to ask whether or not the Itech was a retail model or not, I was just curious as to whether or not the Itech was similar to the size of the Oakley. So would you say that that Itech visor is about the same size as the Oakley straight cut small? However, I'm also curious as to which company provides for a better visor, Oakley or Itech?

It's pro only, nobody has one to measure against an oakley. Since it's only available to pros what would it matter if it's larger, smaller or the same size?

i bought a visor today that's almost exactly like what zetterberg has in that pic, except it's made by oakley. it's a modified straight small. you can't really tell in the picture as it's at a weird angle, but it's pretty close. i'll take pics tomorrow if i remember - i left it in my locker tonight though...

I've had some success with a dremmel tool and the cotton polishers, along with some plastic polishing compound. Just be careful that you don't overheat the plastic or it will look all fuzzy.

I have a bunch of stratches currently and none of them seem to bother me when I'm on the ice.

I took an RBE1 and cut down about an inch along the bottom (followed the contour) and I added an extra hole below the lower slot so that the shield stays securely in place and slightly higher than if you used the original slots. Love it and it was much cheaper than buying the expensive ones. Again, dremmel tool with a cutter.

For cleaning, when it is bad I use a disposable alcohol cloth for cleaning glasses (a box of them from Costco is like $6). On the bench I just take off my glove and use my finger as a squeegy. Haven't had any problems. May not work on certain visors though.

would you wash that out with water afterwaards or wipe it off with cloth?

i went to one of my LHS, and there was a retail itech that was the smallest thing i have ever seen

i think they call it the itech pro aviator, or something like that, it barely goes below your eyes... and i don't think it would protect you from anything what so ever...
