RBK 6k blade

Recommended Posts

How is the durability on the 6k blades? I have a L-2 shaft and love it but the L-2 blades dont last for me at all. Has anyone tried the RBK ones? Some feedback would be great.

Is that USD? I'm not sure ANY blade is worth $60 usd. They're replacement blades, and the markup is already horrendous at $40. After you get over $50? Ludicrous.

Depends on the brand and your sales volume. Some brands have horrible margins on blades.

Durability? Not sure. I have one that I used for a bare 15 minutes. What I can tell though is that it is the stiffest blade I ever had. Compared to Z-Carbon, Ultra Lite, Inno and TPS blades when in new condition. That in fact is the reason I dislike the RBK as I prefer a litle more "give" in my blades. Maybe I should mention again that it is one of those blades "Made in Finland". I think you guys get the canadian made ones, right? Not sure if they are the same.

The 6k blade I saw in my LHS said "XX Stiff" on it. Now I know for sure my Zcarbons are not the stiffest things out there, but I would assume a blade that said XX stiff is pretty stiff. It looked pretty sturdy. Not sure if that means much though, haha. I like to give blades a hard flick with my finger or a key or something. Usually stiffer blades will give off a much more high pitched sound then a less stiff blade. And less stiff blades will give off a more hollow sound. Case in point, my TPS PTC "sounds" much stiffer than my Zcarbons, but both "sound" waaaay more stiffer than my Mission L2 blades. This isn't a rule of thumb, it's more or less a personal thing that I like to do. It serves me pretty well.

$60 is too much to spend on a replacement blade by far. That's just my 2 cents worth, but in my book, that's flat out just too much.

The 6k is the top of the line, it's price is in line with other manufacturers top of the line blades. Still, I agree all of them are too much.
