the team you hate

Recommended Posts

I covered this in another thread yesterday. I hate the Yankees. I hate Lakers. I hate the Canadians. I'll start hating the Sixers once they start winning again.

And quite recently I've found myself hating the White Sox -- but I'll love them if they play the Yankees.

See, I don't hold grudges. Already I've found myself rooting for the White Sox in case the Angels slide..... ;)

Reminds me of the "Beat L.A." chant that went up in the Garden in the '80's.

C's fans in the 80s were the best.

Boston and Toronto as I'm a huge Habs fan. Growing up in Southern Ontario as a Habs fan and being constantly bombarded by Leafs info in the local media and having several delusional Leafs fans that think they are a great team despite the fact that they've never won anything in our lifetimes has lead to a healthy dislike of the Leafs. The Bruins always seemed to play dirty (clutching, grabbing holding ect) in an attempt to contain the Habs speedy skilled players...at least during the games I watched against them play agains the habs and they seemed to get away with a lot. The dirty elbow by McClaren on Zednik in the playoffs a few years ago really increased my hate for the Bruins.

Devils...

For their excessive defense/trap hockey... Not to mention excessive defense fault/tricks : grab, hold, trip....

They buried NHL !

I wonder how they'll handle those new rules.

# 30 Martin Brodeur will be everything the Devils need him to be in the net. He was stoning the NYR for two periods Saturday night. NJD took that win on Marty's netminding . Of course, the Devils stunk in Philly the night before! When the Devils won their Cups, it was their defensive zone ability to keep the shooter on the perimeter and not allow quality scoring chances that was paramount to their success. 29 other NHL teams tried the same formula but did not have close to the same results. You don't have to like how they won but they deserve respect for winning the three Cups. Detroit and Dallas were strong opponents and the Ducks played them tough to seven games.

Well Mack, you have to admit that their play-off final vs Anaheim was boooooooooooooooooring.

And it's not the Duck's fault : their games vs the other teams (Mines, Avs, Wings) were so exciting.

OK they won.

Some people would say : "Win or loose but do it with style !!!! ". That's the way I see hockey.

And other people will reply : "Win is always stylish ".

Noooo way ! B)

Yeah I'll give you that series, but at that point the entire NHL was boring. They did have some good games in that series though, with Rupp coming out of nowhere. I just hate people tossing around that they ruined hockey just because they used the trap. Sure they used it, but they also scored off of it and didn't choke games down to Panther-ish levels.

The Devils cup win in '95 was the beginning of the worst decade of NHL hockey. That cup win turned the focus of NHL hockey from scoring the most to allowing the least.
