Project824 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2005 The toyota version of the 470 is the Sequoia I believe. My dad has a Honda pilot and thats what I mostly drove until I got my car. The pilot is pretty good and a very well built vehicle. It has decent power and provides a good ride. It is better on gas than my dads old pathfinder. The third row seat is pretty useless unless you have little kids or very short rides for adults because of the lack of leg room. But other than that it is a very solid vehicle. It is very similar to the Acura MDX. If I were to buy a the pilot I would spend the extra $4-5 k and get a Acura because of the name and resale value. MDX won't carry the resale value of the Pilot. The MDX was built on the CRV platform, not the Pilot platform. Both the MDX and the Pilot were built on the Oddysey minivan platform. They are nearly identical under the sheet metal and trim. The MDX is quite a bit larger than the CR-V. I believe the Pilot actually has a higher resale value for some reason, but someone should check Blue Book to be sure. The MDX is actually only slightly more expensive but in my opinion a much more nicely put together package, trim and appearance wise.Like someone else stated, it's pretty obvious that a kid who is being bought a brand new $35,000 vehicle by his parents is not really looking at the car as an investment. LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted October 20, 2005 Some people don't view cars as an investment. And they certainly aren't when 99% of them depreciate in value. It takes a very special car for the marketplace to view it as an investment.Houses on the other hand... ;) Houses aren't always investments either, but they can be. And the actual house isn't what increases in value, it's usually the land. For most, both are expenses.Financial responsibility comes at different times for all, but the only guarantee is that it definitely hits you at some point.I'm still waiting for it to hit me. You must not have ever purchased a home.
LegoDoom 0 Report post Posted October 21, 2005 Houses require maintenance. Roof, A/C, water heater, floors, kitchen. Dated houses don't hold their value as well as up-to-date houses. That all requires money. The value is in the land. Just because you see "house" prices rise, doesn't mean the house is what's increasing in value. And just ask people 10 years ago how good of an investment houses were when nobody wanted to have money tied up in real estate because the stock market was doing so well.Don't you mean I must have never sold a home? Why would buying one make me realize that houses increase in value?

Great Suv. 17.5 mpg city.Drives really nice, and good off road. Paid 42000 for mine and as far as cars go id say that it was worth it. I always take clients in it and im not afraid to get it dirty. Good luck

You see them a lot in Europe, used in much the same role as the US uses the HUMVEE.
Z-Unit14 0 Report post Posted October 24, 2005 Get a Honda Element and pimp it out on dubs or something. I saw one on 22's at the dealership here and it was all black with chrome rims and it actually looked pretty key. If not get a range rover like the one they drive in OC. The Cayman would be by far their best car (except the CGT)... too bad they won't do the right thing and offer an X51 option on the damn thing.
