im guessing they are the 04 models. national sports always clears out high end stuff from the previous year. if people remember, the v12s were 199 during this sale last year

They generally have these sales every so often. In addition to the V-12, they also had the Z-Air Comp SE on for $200 at one point. I think they just order alot of the top-end stuff and sell whatever isn't selling well for cheap. The skates they've put on sale have all been good, but haven't sold well in the area. They get a ton of these prostock sticks in as well, but usually only for the sales.

why is the S500 so cheap???? i thought they were really good skates, is it because they are 04's?

They're fantastic skates but they're being discontinued. It explains why the S500s were "alloted" when I called Mission for a pair a while ago.

Figured id stop on in and see whats going on there on the way home from work. They were stocking shelves sticks --with big signs - 99$$ pro-stock one piece sticks. I saw Rubber Responses- Response XN10-- Synergys-- Grip Synergy's.. And they were stacking more but i couldnt wait to see what was coming out- they kicked me out ---store was closing.. Looks like its gonna be a good sale.

They've always been extremely good with ordering stuff in from other locations with me. I haven't had skate size problems, but my dad has had issues getting Saucony's in and they always offer to get'em from another location.

Good luck with sizes. National Sports stocks every skate but only order like 3 sizes per skate.

Well if anyone spots a pair of 10.5EE, let me know. I will get you the money ASAP. I haven't been able to track down a pair in that size for quite a while.

Hmmm...I bought a pair of Vector Pros last year, like them and haven't had any major problems with them (my heels do move a bit, but it's not too bad- I may have been able to go down half a size, but when trying on the half size down the forefoot felt like it was in a vice...I guess I could've had them stretched/punched), but those S500's for that low price are tempting if they have my size and they fit well. I've looked through quite a few threads here and a lot of people do seem to like the S500s and it won the MSH skate of the year for 2004.

I'm just wondering if anyone thinks I should pick up a pair of S500's if I can find them in my size tonight even though I have a perfectly good pair of Vector Pro skates. If I knew the Pros would last me several more seasons I probably wouldn't bother, but it seems newer skates have become less durable over the years. My CCM 652 pumps lasted me about 8 years, after that my Nike Ignite 1 skates lasted about 2 years before I started getting lace bite problems (due to a worn out tongue)....and I'm not sure how long the Vector Pros will last. Currently I'm playing about 3 times a week - 1 men's league game and 2 (sometimes 3) pickup games. I'm 6'2" 210lbs and a fairly strong skater.

Should I buy the S500s now (if they have my size and fit properly) while they're selling at such a low price before my Vector Pros wear out or will my Vector Pros last at least another season (so I can look for a great deal next year instead of this year)? Any feedback is appreciated. The deal is tempting, but I don't want to spend the cash if the Vector Pros will last several years.

I wouldn't jump the gun, wear your VP's until it's time to move on. Nationals may put these on sale again, they basically lowered the V-12 price to $200 and called it a sale twice a month from then on in.

I called this morning, hoping to go up and take a look around tonight. I checked 2 sizes (13 and 10.5EE) none in my location and didn't offer to order them in. Then, like the stick buying fool I am, asking what Pro patterns were in LH Xn10, apperantly one of them (the others were AHL guys) is a Kovalchuk pro. I'm going up tonight to have a look, I'll post what I see pattern wise, hopefully the misses see's an oppurtunity to either stock up X-mas or reward me for getting a suit for her Uncle's wedding (The suits the reason I'll be in the area).

The Mission S series and CCM Vectors are not similar at all. You really should try them and walk around in them a bit before making such a major change in skates.

I'll probably take Eazy's advice and just wait until I really need to change skates. I'll probably check out the sale anyway and pick up a few other things (blades, maybe a stick ect) and while I'm there I may try on a pair out of curiousity if I can do so conveniently without wasting a sales person's time - if there's a box with something close to my size around I'll try them on and walk around in them....or maybe I should just stay away from the skate section as if I try them and they fit and feel great I'll be pretty tempted to buy them even though I don't really need new skates at the moment.

exactly my thought. I remember it was freezing cold and people still lined up around the store at midnight.

The 25 % off everything in the store is pretty well a distant memory now.

I think the sales are still great, but they aren't as "wide" as they used to be. They section of their sales to only certain products. The actual sale items are better, but their aren't as many.

that is true too, but I really miss the 25 percent off everything in the store.

I would pick up other goods that normally would not go on sale like skate laces, hockey tape, racket grips, tennis balls.

I asked once...

"Is Under Armour included in the ALL SPORTSWEAR up to 40% off Sale...?"

the Response:

"Under Armour NEVER goes on sale"

At least she was honest.
