I'm very disappointed with you guys!! Because fans boo a team or thing like this doesnt mean they are worst...

When you go to MONTREAL you know you will have to play your best hockey because WE ARE the best knowledge people in Hockey..

THUMPS UP to althoma...i really like his idea..

we critic because mtl fan know their stuff...not like some team that still have their rink at 85% of the capacities...when they are like 20th on the league..(exemple)

I don't whant to have haters, but come on thinks about it!:when you was younger and your father was ''giving you shit'' and telling what you did wrong..isn't still your best fans?? the guys who will always be there to watch you!??

These are the same fans who cheered for Ribeiro and booed Koivu after their "spat" in practice.

Vancouvers fans are loyal, and Ottawa's are too

for the worst i'm not too sure, habs are pretty bad, rember that Kovalev dive that cost them a game? fans werent to happy about that

Buddy I live just a bit outside of Vancouver and trust me the Canucks fans are NOT loyal. The Canucks are my 2nd favorite team so I'm not being biased towards the Canucks but for sure the Canucks have enormous bandwagon jumpers who no nothing about hockey. I mean not every Canuck fan is like that but there sure is a lot of them and don't get me started on your opinion of Hab fans...

I live near Toronto and have my whole life.  I don't know how the fans are in anyother city so my answer may be biased or whatever.

well I think habs fans are passionate and knowleadgeable about the game which wins my vote.

And living near Toronto although they fill the seats I think Toronto fans are just there to be there and everybody just hops on the bandwagon.

Keep in mind...it isn't "fans" who fill the seats in Toronto...it's Corporate sponsors. How many suits are in the lower bowl...

Teh real fans can't get tickets (or can't afford them). I know a guy who was on the season ticket waiting list...and got called this year for seats he put down for 15 years ago. They wanted $40,000.

I agree. One of the primary reasons that real fans in Toronto, whether you're a Leafs fan or just a hockey fan, can't get tickets is because so many corporations own season's tickets. It's basically split between corporate holders and those lucky enough to be born into families that have held season's for generations.

I also agree with the fact that many Leaf boosters are bandwagon hoppers, and just cheer for them b/c everyone else does.

I would also agree that Montreal fans are VERY passionate about the game, and like I said before, they have every right to get on some player's ass if he is not producing like his contract determines he should. Earn your keep.

Where does this "myth" that Montreal fans are the most knowledgable come in? As a group, they've done a ton of dumb-ass things just like every other Canadian team's fans have.

Yeah, Ottawa fans are so loyal that the team almost had to move a few years back b/c no one was going to games. I bet people are going NOW...

You are a badly misinformed child my friend. The reason they were going to move wasnt fans, it was the lack of funding.

Right, and where do teams get funding?! Oh, that's right, I forgot, from people that buy tickets. I made trips out to Ottawa during those years b/c I couldn't get Leafs tickets, and let me say that tickets in Ottawa were pretty easy to come by.

Bryden had to push pretty damn hard to sell some season's tickets. Yes, Bryden's team was underfunded, but don't kid yourself, you badly misinformed child, the Sens were not a sold out show every night.

Don't they force people to buy a certain amount of tickets if they want to see Toronto too? Like you can't just buy a Toronto game, it's a Toronto and Washington (example) package? I think they do the same with Montreal as well?

Nah, you just have to be on ticket master early on the first day tickets are sold. For the 2003/04 season, I took too long deliberating games, and all I had left that was worth buying was tickets against the Red Wings, but they were obstructed view, so I didn't get them...my buddy from school somehow get 4 sets of tickets that year.

Anyone who thinks Montreal has the worst fans is a moron. The crowd in Montreal is deafening. The people that booed Breezer were just a bunch of stupid drunks that don't know anything about hockey.

Brisebois was my favorite Habs player for years. Getting rid of him was a stupid decision.

getting rid of breezbye was a good desicion, for what he was making and who other players at the same salary were,

before, the lockout, brisebois, was the third highest faid player on the habs, behind, theo and kovy, and for what his on ice performance was it wasn't worth it, he was making 4.6 million that year, so with a 24% rollback thats still 3.5 million, thats a ton of money for an average player. And for all the mistakes breezbye has done he deserves all the booes he gets, as a habs fan i was happy they got rid of him.

i think the best fans were the calgary fans 04 playoffs  ;)

definately MTL has good fans, but i just like the vibe in toronto. almost everyone cheers for the leafs, and who cares if a few of them just do it because their friends are doing it? if there were more fans like that in the states, the sport of hockey would be so much better off.

I was in Montreal this weekend for the Habs-Leafs Game. My first Montreal expereince, and my second Habs/Leafs game (2003 in Toronto). ACC was good...but Montreal wins for game day atmosphere HANDS DOWN.

Bell Centre was deafening. Yes, some of that was Leaf fans, but once both sets of fans were going full volume...the place was insane. There were cheers when Toronto scored...but when Montreal scored it was through the roof.

Getting to see the jerseys go up was great too.

Montreal...Best fans...period.

Western Canadian, I happen to like the most.

They seem a bit more "old school" and modest.

Yeah, I went to a game at the Saddledome during the playoffs and even though I hate Calgary that building was nuts. Skyreach/Rexall is always nuts for the playoffs, even when it's first round and we're getting crushed by Dallas/Colorado.

The ACC is a joke compared to MLG, it's a shame it went down. ACC in playoffs is a completely different ballgame than regular season as well. I heard there were some serious asshole Leaf fans at the Habs game though, chanting GLG during the ceremonies. Although I don't think I've ever seen a team do as many "pre-game" memorial stuff as the Habs. It seems like every saturday is a special occasion.

I honestly expect Toronto and Philly to be the Sens only competition in the playoffs. Having said that, I believe both Philly and the Leafs are beatable by any of the possible 10 play-off teams, where I don't really think Ottawa is. The Sens haven't done it in the playoffs, but I think theres been a number of factors besides goaltending and toughness, like most people, especially Leaf fans, believe.

Philly yeah, Toronto no way. Lets face it Toronto lost Roberts and Newie those guys were straigh up Sens killers in the playoffs, not to mention Mogilny and Nolan. Who is left ? Domi Tucker Sundin ? Yeah good luck, Domi is the biggest pu**y in the league now and well Tucker not sure what goes on in his head, but I respect Sundin hes solid. If Ottawa was able to put up 35 shots a game with Jaques defensive style, then Belfour will be a shooting range for the sens this year lol. And the way it looks now Toronto might not even make the playoffs, because I believe Boston and Tampa will get it together. And the Devils and Buffalo are more suited for the New NHL. Toronto relies to much on its PP and goalie.

Toronto and Calgary has prolly the best fans. Well Toronto fans are just straigh up crazy die hards. Calgary only for what they did last year. MTL has solid fans. Never been to a Vancouver game, but Ottawa fans are starting to come around (but they were hella lame couple years back when Ottawa had trouble selling out even though they had the best record in the league), but they are sure making up for it now. Thanks to all the fans !

Toronto has that mental edge, which I think will be broken this year, but I don't think anyone else has that against the Sens. Philly is just a good hockey team who with good goaltending, and a few bounces can win. Say what you want, but Niewy played 1 year with Toronto, Nolan never played against the Sens. Mogilny had a brutal series the last 2 years vs. Ottawa. Roberts will be missed, but it isn't like players haven't been replaced.

If they are replaced then the mental thing won't be the same, this Ottawa team is much different then the team that was on the ice in 2003 (White, Hossa, Bonk, Devries, Lalime gone). And I highly doubt that there is mental thing thats just something media made up

Much like Lalime and Martins were used as scapegoats. The fact is, Ottawa hasn't beat Toronto in a series, and have played them consistantly. Ottawa is definately likely to beat them if they play this year, but I think Toronto poses as much of a threat as Philly and Philly is the only team I think can possibly match their skills. It isn't saying they can't be beat, anything can happen, but if they were to lose my money would be on Tor or Philly doing it.
