Well i bought my girlfriend a charm (she wears charm bracelts) with a picture of me and her together on it. Thought it would be a 'different' gift.

I go for romantic

Considering every day you ask me how she is doing, and always comment on what i say. I guess i have to say i know you pretty damn well.

I am getting my wife a tiffany neclace...I guess that's semi-romantic.

if I was to get her a vacuum cleaner or another useful-practical-household item she'd most likely be mad/hurt.

I think it just depends how long you've been married or in a relationship. I think the longer you're together, the more-likely it is for a practical gift to be acceptable. Especially when there's kids involved.

Would buying a "Squirt" turtle (from Finding Nemo) cuddly toy, a box of chocolates and flowers be a good thing for a new girlfriend that you've just started seeing not long ago?

Get a foot massager for her. She'll go nuts over it.

Edit: One of the nice ones that takes hot water, and has all the jets in them.

Or massage her feet for her, more romantic and she'll probably like it even more. Also cheaper :P

I dunno, a little of both. To me, Valentine's Day is THE romance day. Anniveraries should be romantic. But other days like Xmas, Bdays, etc shouldn't be all romance. I tend to get something nice like an engraved Tiffany's bracelet (they love that sh$t) and the jacket or purse she's been wanting. Appeases both romantic and practical.

Then I get what I've been wanting from her...giggity giggity goo!

It totally depends on how long you have been with this girl, and what type of girl she is. if there is something that you know she needs - then go that route. But then throw alittle something romantic on the side - the foot massage was clutch!

I agree. Get em something that's a bit of both for Xmas.

I bought my girlfriend of a little over a month a scarf and matching gloves from Jacob, and a CD she's been looking trying to find for a while. Spent about 45 bucks after a discount, nothing too much.
