"brock foam"?

Recommended Posts

i remember seeing this on some hespeler and TPS shin pads, it was designed with lots of gaps in the foam (sort of like a dense sponge) so that it could absorb moisture and breath a lot better. with every manufacturer putting wicking liners into their equipment, why don't more of them use brock foams in their shoulder/shin/elbow pads and pants? it didn't seem like this foam was more flimsy than traditional foams.

I know in they use a lot of it in lacrosse pads and its great for that...but I dont think it would protect you too too well against a good slash in hockey... just taking hits in lacrosse with it hurt pretty bad... i think what it comes down to is you need too much of it to make it worth while in hockey... it would probably take away from your mobility...
