How to get custom skates?

Recommended Posts

I have searched here but I cant find much information about getting a custom skate made. Where can a person go or who do I need to contact? Can any company do it, or should I say will most companies do it? Im asking because I cant seem to find a skate that I like that fits my foot correctly. I just bought a pair of Mission S500's and love them. The only thing Im noticing now that they are breaking in and getting longer but no wider. They seem to be too big length wise and to narrow. I would like to get a set of the new AG's built to my foot. Any Mission guys around here that I could get some info from? Any help is appreciated. Thanks ;) G

They may be the wrong size, but I cant really imagine going to a 7.5 EE if my 8EE are a bit too snug on the sides of my foot. I have been trying to stretch them but its not going as well as I wanted. What I would lke to know is who can I talk to about having some skates made for my exact foot? I want mission AG, Graph 707 or 709, or the new Kor2. One other question, how would these three skates rate in terms of high or low boot? G :)

The 709 is a tall, stiff boot and the Kor Shift two is also going to be a taller boot than the Shift one.

Your LHS should be able to fit you and order some custom skates for you. Do you have any good LHS in your area? Talk to them!

There is no reason to go to the SHift2, the only reason they even are making a higher boot is to appeal to a wider market, those who THINK they need a higher boot. The whole concept of Kor's performance is that it doesn't need a higher boot for support. The higher boot is not better, just a marketing move for more mass appeal.

I think the Black accents on the Shift^2 look better than the blue on the Shift^1.

My thoughts exactly.

Those are some sweet looking skates, and when you got them fit correctly to your foot I bet they are heaven to your feet....Are they pretty light weight skates?

Funny, black on the Shift2 looks better but powder blue on the one-ninty is awesome. I'm sooo confused!

Well, even if your LHS do not carry high end skates he can always order them in for you.

Hahaha! I know the feeling! The kicker for me is the price tag of the One90's. YIKES!

Everyone is going up in price this year except for Easton. They are coming down in price for the 1500 according to my rep.

Pro model goal skates are headed through the roof!

It's insane. I'm glad I have a lot of steel on my 7000s. I'll probably be buried with those things.

Does anyone know how? My LHS isnt up to date, thats why I dont go there. There's not much new info that gets there. Is my questions so common that noone wants to answer it? Is it harder than I realize? All I want to do is take a Mission AG put a wider toe cap on it, a thicker tongue, and make sure they fit like skates are supposed to. Price isnt a fator.

Shrek, I e-mailed them thanks. My brother had a pair of SK's 18 years ago, white and red if I remember right. Doesnt look like much has changed though. Oh well, Im going to check them out. G
