But I just read yesterday that Apple is looking to get into having movies available to purchase, which will up the cost for movies. Or, you can download other videos, like hockey videos, or errr, let's just say other videos from websites that don't cost anything.

The whole apple/movie rumor has been around for a while. I do believe they will be offereing movies, but it will be at least 6 months beofre that deal gets knocked out. The rumor is that the next generation ipod will be released in tandem with the movie store. I would wait, if possible, to buy an ipod. And the just because the movies will be 10-12 bucks dosent mean all videos will be

Any ideas when Apple will be releasing their version of the iPod with live XM radio?

The Pioneer and Samsung options are pretty cool, but Apple always seems to out-do the others.

What's in it for them? Not being overtaken by other companies that do manufacture those units- Dell, Pioneer, Samsung, etc.

There are a total of about 12 million users (between the two companies). There are under 25,000 of these units (way under) sold. They dont exactly sell like hot cakes. The units are good, but they still have a ways to go. Most people do not use these as mp3 players. I have an inno, I have a grand total of 0 mp3s, I use it for portable satillite radio.

I suppose you're right. I guess not many people know about XM/Sirius radio just yet.

Question for you, I know Pioneer advertises you can store 50 minutes of XM programming on the unit. How many Gigs does it hold in terms of MP3's?

exactly... the unit is pretty big (just a tocuh bigger than the 3G ipods). To had a useable hard drive to that would make it even bigger (although flash drives are evolving). I think in a couple of years those units will be the size of the original mini.

quick question guys.

My Ipod was stolen today, when I buy and new one, and yes I will buy a new one, zero alternatives, will there be a way to get the 1000+ songs gfrom my old ipod onto my new one? I dont have any songs on my computer anymore, so does the ipod maybe make a backup on my hardrive or what?

I know I'm probably screwed

illegal + spyware + viruses + shitty quality + slow = limewire

Legal + none of the above = iTunes

Just because you havent noticed any spyware of viruses dosent mean you dont have them. The whole point of spyware is so that you "dont notice it" Limewire is much slower than iTunes.

Apple would stop selling in france before they opened their DRM program. They do not have that large of a market share to where it would matter.

Limewire crashed my computer last year the second I opened it. Lesson told dont use Limewire, since spending a couple dollars on songs is much cheaper than getting your computer fixed.
