As much as everyone can rip on Ribeiro for being a pussy (and im not saying he is or isnt) I dont think anyone here can seriously criticize his play short of saying he's not having a steller year. Unless of course you're better than him. But im willing to bet the majority of guys on here aren't, including myself.

On a side note, that guy who got called out on pretending to play in the "O" for plymouth went into his profile and changed his birthday to match the plymouth players'.

horrible as in, didnt put up big numbers in the show

or horrible as in played high level rec hockey until they were 45 and THEN decided to coach in the nhl

good coaches, generally, were good players, in the way that they played in the nhl and had more than a cup of coffey. (pardon the pun)

also, good coaches played or were seriously involved in a high level of hockey for decades before they started coaching.

and finally, the great coaches HAD great coaches for years.

Take Eddie Shore, for example. He was a meat head, but he was a masterful teacher (in the words of don cherry) and countless players from his teams went on to coach pro hockey. those countless players were NOT all all-stars.

I'll guess I'll throw out the fact I worked for the same company that taught power skating to the Canes and to the Oilers. I guess I'll toss out the fact I was coached by a handful of NHL players and national championship winning coaches.

Everyone learns from the people around them. It doesn't prevent people from picking up a book, studying the game, watching on a regular basis and getting to a good point. You don't have to be in the NHL to know the game. Sometimes players can't adapt to the speed, so they have trouble making the right decisions. We don't have to deal with all of the pressure and circumstances players do, so it can be easier to sit here and say what he should have done. Alot of NHL players may even agree.

Horrible as in they played the highest levels they could, until they couldn't make it, but were given an oppurtunity to coach because for certain reasons. Some didn't get NHL experience, some did.

Aww come on man. Are you seriously telling me us that you have NEVER criticized an professional athlete ? You HAVE never said so-and-so sucks ? That you have no opinion about whether some player should be cut from your favorite sports team ? That you have never had an opinion like Tie Domi/Sean Avery/Darius Kasparaitis/Claude Lemieux/Barry Bonds/Latrell Sprewell/Terrell Owens is an idiot ? I don't know you, but I sure don't believe you.

If we are to believe that you believe what you write, then you must have never said a given NHL team sucks, because I'm pretty certain that you (or probably anyone else on this board) will never on any NHL team. You must never have said that a given player sucks, because you aren't better than him, either. You must never have criticized your favorite team's coach or GM, because you aren't better than them at that. Conversations about sports must be pretty boring with you.

I don't need to be an excellent hockey player to say that an NHLer sucks, and I sure don't need to be an excellent hockey player to say that a given NHLer is an idiot. Are you telling me that Leafs fans can't say that Wade Belak or Ken Klee suck ? Sure, they are both better than me, almost every Leafs fan, and everyone else on this board, but when someone says an NHLer sucks, it's all relative.
